Payouts occur usually somewhere between 2300 - 0300 CST, depending on how much volume is being traded.

So... every night between 23.00 and 03.00 Mint gets pumped and the price probably rises. To me that sounds like an oppertunity that can be easily exploited...  Huh

I think Mint is better of with a steady increase instead of one pump per day where we all pay the grand price any whale sets for us... Please fix this Sad

Yeah that's not right. Definitely should be an all day thing

They could make the payout within a designated time frame so that people know when to expect their payout, but they could do the actual purchasing of MINT at random, undisclosed, or spread-out times so that people can't exploit the pump.

You're right about that - I assumed (probably) wrong. I was triggered by a message earlier about increase in price last night and that being great for the bagholders, combined with the payout times.
I think I connected the wrong dots Tongue

edit: and given the 40 megahash we are outputting now (0.35 BTC/day), it'll take longer then one night to push the coin up a few satoshi's Wink

try command setgenerate true -1 in the console

you can use variables 1,2,3,4, or -1 to assign processing power to generation, -1 is 100% cpu usage

Woah. I just did this and I instantly started to mint. I didn't think I was even up for minting yet because I moved coins on the 9th of march...

Maybe I don't understand Proof-of-Stake as well as I thought, but to my knowledge all setgenerate does is cause your CPU to mine Proof-of-Work.  That is irrespective and unrelated to Proof-of-Stake block mining, is it not?

Indeed.

I agree, I think an environmental charity organization would be great for this coin. Maybe we could vote as a community on a charity (or charities) that we could start donating to through the Mintcoin Foundation?

There's something in the pipeline already Wink

can anyone explain to me how can i get stake interests ?
ive been keeping my MINT in my wallet for 20 days, but cant see any stake on wallet ?
why ?  i didnt encrypt my wallet.

Heya, lets see if we can find the root of the problem.

Are you using the newest wallet (v1.5)? Did you move/send any of your coins in that wallet during those 20 days? When you open the wallet to stake, how long are you leaving it open?

thanks for your quick reply,
let me clarify:

my wallet is V1.4--- will update the newest.
i put coins in my wallet 20 days ago, i didnt move any coins at all.
i just opened my wallet some time to get sycned,, thats all, once it sycned, i closed wallet.
( do i have to open the wallet for 20 days sequensely, so that i can get stake interest ? )

Well I actually haven't started staking myself yet so my experience is limited. But based on what I've been seeing on the forums from other people working out the process, it seems like the following might help:

1. Upgrade wallet.
2. You may have to wait longer than 20 days, there is no guarantee that you will find a PoS block on the 20th day or any given day. The longer you wait and the more coins you have the better your chance of finding a block (analogous to hashpower and time when trying to find a PoW block). This also means that if some of your coins were deposited later than the 20 day old ones, they aren't able to stake yet but as they reach coin age and the stakeable amount increases your likeliness of finding a PoS block will increase.
3. When you open your wallet to mint, leave it open longer than is needed just to sync up. I'm not sure how long exactly but maybe a few hours? Definitely don't need to leave it open continuously for 20 days though.

Multipool is fine and all but what is the purpose of getting mintcoins out of it, just to hoard?  If the coin has any future it needs to be for being able to purchase goods or services, not hoard or trade in for BTC.  So far there is a marketplace on reddit which barely has any posts and usually is just to trade for another currency.

We can buy anything for mintcoin now: http://bongocoin.com/order/
