Looks like the whales are hanging out at cryptsy

If it is true that the Chinese are buying 4000btc worth of mint you all could be very surprised about how high it goes.
So far, our source has been pretty spot on!
What's the source?

Could be someone just using Google Translate to insinuate that the Chinese are coming (because people associated Chinese investment with massive pumps).

Finally, someone makes some sense.  Think about how easy that would be.

These forums are for entertainment value only.  If you are reading these forums for advice then go ahead and PM me.  I've got more investment ops for you than you can shake a stick at, whatever that means.  Seriously, we're talking millionaire in 2 hrs or less.  I choose not to be a millionaire because I actually like being poor.  It's invigorating.  Another reason I'm poor is because I relied on the forums for investment advice.
Tell me er' ting bro!

Don't tell anyone, but my minting process is kicking out kind bud instead of Mint leaves.  Way more profitable than Mint.  It spits it out the GPU fans, so you have to be fast.  It smells minty too.  High as a giraffe's ass, right now.

That might just be due to your -w setting. I've found that checking every setting for -w can yield best results. A lot of settings people input are not necessary, or are worse than default. If you're like me though, you'll spend many hours on it checking each cgminer and OC setting. Cool

If you're not like me, and just want the easy way to a decent hash, let it default.

PS: I don't think the pool makes the settings for you, I'm pretty sure cgminer (or other miner) defaults it for you...

Yep, you are right, cgminer makes the settings, but it must work with the pools info to make the settings.  I'm saying I am like you and have spent years tweaking.  My point is that it looks like a waste.  I'm getting 10-20 kh/s more from the default than I do on my best tweaks.  I even just did a search tonight to look for advice on tweaks, just to try and beat the default.  Thought maybe I was missing something.

You should try it.  If you can beat the defaults, lmk.

So maybe I'm a little slow to catch on, but someone did give me a tip the other day that actually is paying off.  I started mining LTC and BTC in 2011, and I've spent probably hundreds of hours tweaking GPU cards to maximize hashes.  Overclocking, underclocking, undervolting, etc.

Maybe I'm the last person to know this, but if you use cgminer, try letting the pool make all your settings for you.  I've tried this with 8 sites so far with an average increase of 10 kh/s.
The .bat files I've tested only include url, worker, pw, -Intesity --no submit stale, and --failover.

Example for 7970:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

cgminer.exe  --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://[mining_url] -u [workerusername] -p [workerpassword] --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --gpu-fan 85 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1500 --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://[failover_url] -u [workerusername] -p [workerpassword]

is now:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

C:\your\path\to\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://[mining_url] -u [workerusername] -p [workerpassword]  -I-18 --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://[failover_url] -u [workerusername] -p [workerpassword]

I've tried this for:

5870
7950
7970
R9 270
R9 290

On every miner I get faster hashing, with what I assume is less stress since cgminer displays a warning when overclocking.

I did adjust the Intensity up to 18 on most of miners, which seems to give the most hashes with minimal rejects and 0 HW errors.

The miners also run more stable.  I haven't had any crashes.

Maybe this is old news, but it's news to me.  After the last few days, maybe everyone could use some good news.

So, let's get those snarky comments rolling in.

That user 'Zhang San Feng' (a figure from Chinese legendary myth) is providing Chinese responses to posts that were written in English.  So obviously the person behind it understands English just fine, but is deliberately choosing to post in Chinese rather than English.  Why?  Even Wolong wrote to English speakers in English.

It could be someone just using Google Translate to insinuate that the Chinese are coming (because people associated Chinese investment with massive pumps).

WTF Mintpal. I sold at 18 and wanted to buy back in at 17. I have been doing this all week and have made a considerable amount, however, when I saw it rising I went to cancel to buy back in, I don't mind loosing a little as I am still up overall. I tried to cancel and I can't. Now it's at fucking 30! So i'm pissed off right now. I've basically lost half my coins, and if it keep on going then forget it, ill just put my BTC into another coin. Fuck this.

Don't day trade with half of your coins...for exactly this reason. If you are new to day trading, you must know that you are not going to win 100% of the time, there is considerable risk. When a bad trade happens, you don't want to get wiped out. I think the general rule of thumb is using 2%-3% of your total. That way if things go bad you are only out 2-3%.

Agreed!

Probably going to go back to 23 soon. Look at how one person is manipulating the market, big pumps and then instant removal of all substantial buy orders - there is nothing keeping it above 23 other than individuals buy orders - the big boys have pulled out for now.
