Hey,

Why is the official website MintcoinOfficial.com not working?

Says it is suspended. What is going on?

People cannot download the client!

The team is aware and consider it a very high priority issue.  Fixes and a statement are coming soon.  Just a minor bump in the road.   Cool

Yeah, this is really the time to be buying mint, not selling it. Minting will probably replace Mining in the future. it is more profitable to invest in MINT than it is to invest in mining gear. The coins themselves are like miners, so its like double the value!  I was planning on buying like a few thousand dollars worth more of mint, but my wife's car just got totalled and need to buy her another one before I can buy more coins. Sad because the price of Mint will probably rise 300%  or something before I can afford to buy more  Undecided
Oh well, such is life. At least I got some Mint, and am minting, which is more than a lot of people, who don't have anything. So I am still grateful. Great opportunity for others I guess. If the price goes up like 300%, then your future mintings will also go up 300% too.  Such opportunity for those who understand the mechanics of it!

Yeah i see what your saying, but seriously what is mintcoin useful for? i have had it 2 years now and have never seen it offered as a pay,ent option.  do you not think it is completly out of date?  i have already sold at poloniex.

MINT, DIAMOND, & ZEIT will be new forms of money in the future. With Crypto there will be no more counterfeiting.
Just as most people now only carry pics on their phone and not in their wallet, the same will happen with money.
Crypto lets your phone be your wallet, its the future, everyone here is ahead of the general population in this understanding by a few years,
once main stream enters crypto all of the early adopters will be rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Imagine you were at Microsoft or Intel or Google at the very beginning and able to invest and make millions with very little money to start.
That Opportunity is now before you, seize it and hold on for dear life until the ride is over or release it to avoid risk, but realize by doing so you made certain you would not partake in crypto's success.

 Cool

Hello Mintcoiners!

I have packaged the latest Mintcoin wallet release together with a release of a live USB for Linux Mint 17.3, called Linux Mint 'Quetzalcoatl'.

Directions for installing, and download link for torrent here: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1so47ai

If you would like to help out, please download the torrent and seed!

I think wallet was fetching all those links from a website & that account is suspended. It should not interfere with working of wallet so you should be fine. Although this is not good for image of the coin & wallet security. I thought those links & images were in wallet code. I hope that is removed in next wallet update.

Quite correct on all points. Its like a stripped down iframe that pulls very basic and limited html from a website...and yeah...it is completely removed in the upcoming wallet.

It's very encouraging to see the ongoing development of Mintcoin.  The coin's early history was written about in the book called "Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" A Beginner's Reference" last year.  A new book is being planned soon to be released in 2016.

Does anyone know of an order book site like this http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/MINT/markets.php
that covers the LTC market? I would like a visually graphic chart like this for the MINT/LTC market.
Also, is there a way to see the aggregate order-books of all MINT currency pairs, as if valued in USD?

not to sound rude but you haven't done your research then... there is a site that accepts it as payment

https://www.coinpayments.net/store-directory
There is also a special mention merchant list on Reddit.

All of these sites at one time or another, have said they would accept MINT as payment option.

Also, you can use shapeshift to basically instant transfer to any specific coin address.

Once you have it synced, it is fairly easy to maintain. I personally, just make sure to let it run overnight at least once per month and that is basically all you need to do to maintain it. Especially if younthink you will need access to some coin in a few days, it is a good idea to do. MINT does about 87,000 blocks per month, so it is a lot to sync, but I just think of it as the tradeoff for a fast coin. There is literally almost no wait with transactions, and it is awesome! After using MINT for a while, you'll get used to the speed for transactions. Then try having to use BTC again and other coins to send to an exchange or something and it taking more than 5 minutes or more, using BTC especially will start to make you angry. Speed for MINT is great if you want to capitalize on an arbitrage opportunity or something.  No waiting. Bam, its there. Love it!!!

can anyone explain why when dowloading the block chain in the latest mint coin client, the amount of progress jumps about one day it's 30% and then the next its 21% also the amount of blocks change one day its 567948 then next it 1737264.  it all over the place ?

(the blocks there are just examples not the actual block)

I think its because of where checkpoints are put by devs in the blockchain, but i am not sure. The client sees till closest checkpoint i guess & when it is synced to that point it searches for next checkpoint & so on.

Crazy i have had this running for over a week now and still only at 54%.  it has been in the 60's at some stages but then i check again the next day and i have went backwards........ like seriously why is anyone even bothering with this coin anymore?Huh?  as soon as i can send my coins im outa here, sell sell sell, 1 satoshi will do...... Embarrassed

Do you need some help?

Thanks very much for the offer, but i just realized i can send my mintcoin to the exchange with out downloading the full blockchain.  Are you still interested in Mintcoin @crzybilly?  if so can you tell me why, i remember thinking it was great when it first came out but i just cant see any increase in price or use for this coin, can you ?  i loved the whole POS but has it got a future?

I'm interested because well... I'm helping work and improve it... I know what's coming and I see the development team they have and am impressed with it.
