For the short term,  I would recommend betarigs as the risks are significantly less than actually buying mining equipment.  I personally see all investments into scrypt mining equipment right now as dead money as scrypt difficulty will soon increase at an exponential rate. With the advent of POS, we won't need to rely on miners for our security so I personally see no long term benefit to investing in hardware right now. It would be nice to have a stabilization fund sponsored, x13 multipool. That way the fund has a source of guaranteed income if a few trades went wrong.  It might also bring an influx of people to the coin as gpu miners are typically more invested into a coin when they have financial incentive.

In the short run, I am using Eobot.com to mine NAUT.  The operator is fantastic and for someone who is less technical like me it is very easy to get up and running.

Can anyone tell me how many GHS I will need to get things moving again?

Hi BK.  I strongly recommend GAWMINERS for scrypt mining equipment.  They "host" your miners so it's very similar to cloud mining except you actually own the equipment.

You could buy some of their miners and point it all at NAUT while POW is still going on.  After the switch to POS, you can point the miners at the nautpool POS multipool as another avenue to raise/stabilize price.  And it would compliment the stabilization fund VERY nicely.

Here is a referral link of mine you can use:  http://r.sloyalty.com/r/tDMskrxNMiTb

It will give you a discount on your purchase.  And it will give me a discount for giving it out to someone ... mutually beneficial.

Again, i highly recommend gawminers.

I have contacted IPOMINER as well letting them know of the issue, to see if they will provide the direct port for their NAUT pool as they have very responsive servers. Maybe they will pitch in and direct some hash power at the pool as well to get the chain moving. I know many people are upset over this 12 block time. We all just need to pick a spot to direct our power at collectively to get to the next block. Once we get there we can do as we please since the diff will drop a lot.

BK for the blocks to start moving in the right direction, at least 200 MH/s will need to be run to at least get to the next block so the difficulty will readjust. Once we get to the next block all should be good for the lower hashrate. The problem that happens is when a lot of Large pools are mining a coin then drop off at the same time, it is almost impossible to get to the next block or however many blocks to the difficulty retarget. Luckily on the NAUT side diff adjusts each block.

I am not involved in the PoS Multipool - this is the first I even heard about this type of ppol existing - BUT I really like the idea, it fits in perfectly with the goal on constantly supporting the coin.

Do we need more than one?

Yeah, it was invented by the Blackcoin guys if I'm not mistaken. It's a really innovative way of having miners still being able to mine the coin without crashing the price :-) We don't need more than one though, as these types of multipools aren't important to the network security the way pools are for PoW coins.

Also, whoever is doing www.nautpool.com, if I can help in anyway, let me know.

Thanks for the heads up on the HASH rate and the pool going down.  I have not mined the coin since the pre-mine (I wanted to make sure there was fair distribution) but to keep the blocks moving I will personally rent a miner and use the blocks mined for the NSF

nice one BK!!

can you give us a few hints on what ur plan is for this week ahead so we can help in any way

Can anyone tell me how many GHS I will need to get things moving again?

Plan for this week:

#1 Priority is PoS, this has been taking way too long and as the creator of the coin I take full responsibility for the delay. I have been working on things that I am an expert at, but obviously I need to focus all my energy on the switch.

That sounds fatastic! PoS will give us more time to do other things, as it will help stabilize the price and secure the network while infrastructure is built Smiley Also there seems to be a PoS multipool in the works over at http://www.nautpool.com/ I don't know if you're involved in the building of it BK, but regardless it will help both the prize and the volume once it's up and running. For people in this thread who are new to this, a PoS multipool will mine other coins and use the BTC generated to buy the PoS coin in question. This means that the price is constantly being pushed upwards by the buy pressure generated, rather than pushed down as is happening during PoW.

Also I've talked to a couple of people about helping us out with PR, and I've contacted a few businesses about accepting Nautiluscoin payments. Nothing is final yet but if anything crystallizes I'll update everyone here immediately (after running it through with BK first if it's something big of course).

im not quite sure how many GH's it would take but it seems like its chugging along nicely again with the difficulty double wat it was today in the 300's so thats a good sign.

its been good in a way that pos hasent come yet as its allowed true believers to gather coins at these cheap prices and establish a floor for the coin.

we are starting to move up from here on very small volume which to me is a good indicator. when the coin starts to catch on we will see significant price increase which psychologically sparks ppl to buy the coin further increasing the rally, with the NSF working in coordination with a slow "pump" (hate saying it that way) other investors start to notice the coin.

keep working ur magic BK, i think everyone here is thankful (or will be in the future) having a captain who is a expert in finance steering this nautilus ship =)

We all need to band together and aim hashing power at the NAUT guys.

Go POS, forget about the merged mining. If the coin that you planning to merge with start to have problems (dev, FUD, scam...etc,etc) than NAUT will sofer as well...and you can't do anything about it. STAY INDEPENDENT so that YOU can control your coin.

If you have plans or ideas then talk with more then 1 dev about it. Maybe things are possible, maybe not easy.

We are on the right way... comunicating, giving bits of information....you will see, NAUT will start to rise and rise.

rat4, the developer of Blackcoin, is a very cool and helpful guy. I'm sure he'd be willing to lend a hand. There's probably only a handful of people who understands POS as well as he does. Might be worth looking in to?

this sounds like a really good idea look into it BK , the sooner pos is implemented the better as it secures the whole blockchain without the need for miners/pools which atm are causing some issues with transaction speed.
On a sidenote, it's amazing that the price has gone up despite the recent issues with the pool :-)
