again I understand very clearly how it works.  If naut went straight to cash or was able to be used to buy something (besides dirac) then there will be transactions, and a fixed price miners could calculate for.

fees are for transactions..... fees are voluntary....

for transactions you need a mature market with people buying and selling goods.. not just speculative trading.

speculative trading is done on exchanges.. this is all done off the block chain... blockchain is only used when you send coins to your exchange or withdraw them

this means no fees going to miners... so miners will be very

It is a fast coin as well.  If somehow a way is found to go from naut to usd it will get a huge boost.

Why the fuck would I know?  I did not make up the number of 2 million+ coins mined.  It's a simple fact, available to anyone who bothers to take a look at the blockchain.

Multiply the current block number times the block reward and you get the total number mined.

Why is that so fucking hard to understand.  It's not a matter of opinion.

The purpose of mining is NOT to generate profit.  It is to secure the blockchain.  It does this by providing incentives, but when those incentives go away, so does your security.  

Without serious hashrate on your coin, anyone could steal all of your coins anytime they wish.


OK, so you're claiming the coin is broken?  The specifications say block time of 1 minute.  And yeah, some blocks are taking over an hour.

That is NOT a good thing.  If miners start jumping ship with a very high difficulty, it could take YEARS before the next block is found.  That means no transactions during that time.  And you think that this is a POSITIVE thing about this coin?  LOL.


If it gets mined out and there is nothing securing the blockchain, there will be NO market.  Fools like you might think it's just fine to have a "traders only" coin.  But no exchange is that stupid.

in a PoW system the primary role of miners is to secure the network...
if they have no incentive to mine then the network hash rate drops which makes it easier for attackers to gain control of the network and spend other peoples coins.

this is bad for a currency that needs to be "trusted" in order to function.. very bad.. I'm sure you can figure out why.

and yes a mining fee by itself would be Small compensation compared to what people can get mining other coins....

Yea I understand that most miners are not that smart, and they mine a coin and dump it.  I know exactly how mining works and why it is done, ive just never done it because so far in crypto history buying and holding a coin is 1000 x more profitable.

As stated previously in the thread even if the coins were mined out, which i doubt will happen cause already most of the miners are crying they can't even find a block.  If it does get mined out, the market will not get dumped on so hard and the value will go up, all of the sudden the small fee for mining a block isn't so small.

One of the main reasons I really like this coin is because it feels a lot like NMC, I remember the first time NMC died, I forget the actual reason but it was something like "a problem with the source code".

When NMC died shortly after it hit 20 dollars, I think it was about 30 cents when it died.

None of what you say is going to matter, all that matters is if people want the coin or not.  Thats why BTC has value cause people hold it and spend it.  

This is the first alt coin in history, besides LTC, that someone actually put a face behind, that has a lot to lose.  It builds a level of trust on who is going to be accountable for the coin.  So I have a lot more faith in it than most alt coins.  Others will feel the same.

Its nice to know your buying a coin that isn't the biggest piece of shit scam coin in history, like your worthless korea coin that you pimp.

The numbers are really fucking simple.  Which part exactly do you disagree with about Nautalis?  The total number of coins?  The block reward?  The block time?  Those are the parameters, and they are all right in the OP.  The only way it could take significantly longer is if the Nautilus code is majorly broken and there is a very serious problem with the difficulty retargeting.  I don't think that's the case, so I trust that it will mine itself out in the time indicated by the parameters.

Ultimately there are still plenty of people with faith in this coin overall. Myself included. Don't be discouraged, this is the internet, don't be discouraged because there are jerks out there who try to piss all over your parade.

I still have my project aimed specifically at this coin and hope to have it see light of day within a month or so, at least a beta version of it anyway.

And I'll still wear my t-shirt proudly :-)
