Dear Toecutter,

I agree with some of yours ideas. But I would explain my story in the Game.

- When I started I wanted to be a miner or crafter. Then I started to mine but quickly I had a problem , not enought space to stock my mining. and the ore that I want.

- Then I bought some BP to craft something. I started crafting but it is not better , because not enought storage. And I need to sell very cheap to empty my storage.

- Then I try colonize planet and Jumping to increase my skills.

My ideas to improve the game:

1) After some points in the skills , you can not have more than 1 ship in a station.
2) You need to colonize one planet
2.1) Possibility to buy a empty storage , and increase the size with some craft ( Storage Box crafted with Iron Plate , Copper Plate)
2.2) Make storage size global , not by row. Example : 100 ... 200 ... 300 ... 1000 , 1000 is very small for a miner/crafter.
2.3) storage size global is better for database , less record.
2.4) Some items can count for more that 1 size. Example : 1 Reactor can be 10 size.
2.5) Then we need less Trucker for storage , less planet too.

3) Possibility to sell in market (sell order ) by bulk ( Sell 100 , 500 , 1000 ) -> less record in database
3.1) Study the case of used items , can not sell by bulk because not same durability.

4) Possibility to repair items ( New skills ) with some crafted components.

5) Possibility to make research ( simple research , to have some core BP , to increase the craft , decrease time , etc...
5.1) yours BP ( that you know ), can have value 1 to 100 , 1 = beginner , 100 Master

6) Airshed for yours ships on your planet

Now we have the basics , to play the game ( A least for Miners / Crafter )

This is just my ideas

The second issue is my crafting bar. It looks very bothersome, creepy and unclear as to how long does it take for cooldown to pass. I needed to make 3 screenshots because the image is too big to fit into one shot.

I was trying to make 5 alien eggs out of the alien lifeform in hope of skilling my engineering skill. Not only did I not gain an exp but my crafting ability seems to be permanently gone.

OK, I know it's not a laughing matter, but LOL, that's a HUGE cooldown... Seriously, though, is it over yet??? I might get to do something if not.

As for eggs not giving out any exp, thanks for the report, I'll check to see if that's a bug or not, I think I remember some change in that area.

Really unlikely to happen, we already have an in-game mechanic for burn-less crafting. By the way, please don't try cutting any gems, you'll get devastated. Thanks for your review.



1. make the hull of pirates accurate
2. put actual hull instead and put the likelihood of burning each item when crafting
3. and i don't understand when they attack you when you have a shield, Your hull is burning!
4. When all of the old-timers are gone or at least most can you do it again they gave good loot if it doesn't break the bank.
5. first month of playing for new players you should reduce energy cost and traveling times for them to give them a better chance of getting them on their feet.
6. make cpu to 50 plz.
7. make a skill to allow you to dock faster with weapon ports like a second per lvl would seem fair.

Nope, no change there, it always worked like that. I guess you weren't mining too much to notice. FYI, I report all gameplay changes on this thread, even the hidden/bad ones like increased burn rates, and such. (I have a provision for "secret" stuff that relates to new features we don't want to spoil).

It would seem that an asteroid has a certain number of minerals of each category. I appreciate that change.
I would have preferred 1x14 Copper Ore instead of 2x7 Copper Ore to finish the copper ore.
Another small point, the 176 Copper Ore (lost 136) (MLK-II Mining Laser) is a little too big, it's asteroid waste. But it may be me who uses a miner too big for my ship.

hey, toecutter can you plz plz plz plz make the hull of pirates accurate I hate when it says you did 20 dmg then it only takes away like 13/17 hull (estimating) I know it's the % but can you put actual hull instead and put the likelihood of burning each item when crafting i think that would be a good feature. and i don't understand when they attack you when you have a shield, Your hull is burning! Maybe implement new repair item function, that if you use it on enchanced items you make them normal.

I think it was an example of matek. For us, it is difficult to create a ranking or a comparison of levels because we do not have the possibility to switch between different levels to make a comparison.
I think it should be a reduction from the 1 level. It might not be useful to apply a linear reduction of the cool down time but an exponential reduction. Just as an example! Level 1 CDT - 1 second. Level 2 CDT - 2 seconds Level 3 CDT - 4 seconds Level 4 CDT - 8 seconds and so on. Up to a maximum of 1 minute per additional level.


Furthermore, I am for any unsuccessful attempt to make something because ores, plates or components burned are to pull off this cool down time. I think you have already been punished enough for you to lose items then it would be fair not to have to wait. An example. If I want to produce 2 40nm PCB with me the CDT is 2 minutes 20 seconds. If now in the attempt a copper plate burns and it is only a 40 nm PCB manufactured then I have to wait 2M20S. Here I think it would be fair only to apply the CDT for a successful production. In this case, that would be 1 minute instead of 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Do you understand what I mean?

New Travel Mode : I don't understand why do you to make so complicated.

1) Example:

To travel 9 Jumps : we need : 9 * 11 minutes = 1h39 and 1h39 to return.


This makes progression a bit more interesting. In the past it was:

To travel 9 jumps: 9 * 10 = static 90 minutes

Now it's more like

To travel 9 jumps (complete newbie): 9 * 11
To travel 9 jumps (more advanced player): 9 * 10
To travel 9 jumps (somewhat advanced player): 9 * 9

etc.


Impossible to Jump and to dock with a trucker ( Need to wait 5 minutes in space )


That is precisely the point. We always hated the Jump-Dock and Undock-Shoot-Dock "gameplay". It was borderline cheating to us. With constant ability to hide on a station/planet, sector threat levels became almost completely irrelevant. Newbies could mine in most dangerous sectors, people attacking planets under GPD protection like it's nothing, PvP wouldn't work at all, etc. It's basically a method to enforce all other rules into play.

We want to give ships more "weight". And we want to make combat more tactial, not a game of who docks to station faster. The final goal is to make combat more similar to tabletop-RPGs / turnbased wargames / games like Jugged Alliance, where your every turn counts. We also want to make teamplay more relevant, so that repairing, shielding, trading, conquest and all other activities demand more cooperation (or confrontation). It always should've been a multiplayer game, not a single-player game with chat.

Your post was made in a form of a question and not a complaint, which I really appreciate. However, I realize players are also concerned with their earning rates. To that end, we have increased all rewards for everything, and in first time since the very beginning it's now possible to actually travel faster than before. We will keep improving the interface too, so it wouldn't take as many clicks/page loads.

Please keep an eye on the following updates, everything will become even more clear in the nearby future.

Ship ( Privateer ): 1 Advanced Reactor ( 15 E / Minute ) + 5 Engine

Can do ( In Theory) :
- Undock -> Approach ( Gate ) -> Jump -> Approach ( Gate ) -> Jump -> Approach ( Gate )  : ( Dangerous Position we are in space)

- Undock -> Approach ( Gate ) -> Jump -> Approach ( Gate ) -> Approach ( Planet ) - > Dock : ( 1 Jump + Safe position )

In Fact with Energy ( 200 Energy )

-> Undock -> Approach (53E)( Gate ) -> Jump (60E) -> Approach (53E)( Planet )  -> Dock
At the end : 166 Energy Used and only 1 Jump : Need to wait 11 minutes to recover energy.

To travel 9 Jumps : we need : 9 * 11 minutes = 1h39 and 1h39 to return.

2) Example:

Ship ( Trucker ): 1 Advanced Reactor ( 15 E / Minute ) +1  Engine ( Only 2 equipments slot)

Station -> Planet :  Undock -> Approach ( Planet ) (60E)-> Land ( Planet )

yes thats true. The current cool down time is too high per level. It should be significantly less the higher the level is. You are absolutely right.

No, I have an explanation for this :) Navigation skills affects thruster speeds, making them cheaper to use. This is very confusing and will be made more clear in the next update.

Yeah so, Toecutter, my situation is this. I wrecked in a ship w/o engine, it towed me to Miaplacidus. Because of the changes with distance to stations, I can't go to the THX there and get a ship towed to me, nor can I purchase an engine or get one off the marketplace. So I'm basically just stuck.
