It is spelled correctly? I might be wrong

I'm going to guess it is right since it is telling  him they have not opened sales Smiley.   As far as it being a lie we really don't know what they did with sales.   There are machines somewhere but where we don't know.

I also agree with one comment above Skype is not good for conducting business deals.  I would avoid when possible.

You were told earlier in this thread that you are not communicating with Sfards, it's a scammer, check your screenshot it says sfadrsservice

Please Be Careful!!!!
We only have one official SFARDS Skype account sfardsservice. If there is any other similar account such as sfardsservice [ASIC market] contacting you. Don’t listen to them and please double check the account you have talk with and make sure you add the right one Smiley

I'm amazed companies still use Skype as a method of communication for sales, given that every. single. company in the Bitcoin space that has done this has had to deal with potential customers getting scammed.  Skype just makes this all too easy - notice that there's only a single place where you can read the 'sfadrs' bit; in the account info.  Everything else is made to look like it's legit and people are easily duped.  It's why I didn't add a 'Skype' field for the social media template bits in the wiki - way too prone to abuse.

Set up an online store, or an online "contact us" form (don't even publish an e-mail address for sales), and the main worry would be about the website getting hacked, rather than trivial typo-bait.  Contact us form could still easily include a field for the customer to put their Skype account detail ("don't call us, we'll call you") if Skype is preferred for whatever reason.  Not excusing people from not double-checking who they're dealing with - but no reason to make scammers' lives easier.

They know that really they are competing against old gear.   Were talking like A2 gear it's been so long.  No one puts money into scrypt gear.

Innosilicon has already announced tape-out on an A4 Scrypt chip.
THAT is what is going to absolutely KILL the SF100 if SFARDS doesn't get it's act together pretty soon.

No specs yet, but Innosilicon has this strange (for Cryptocoin hardware maker) habit of not announcing stuff 'till it's ready - the "tapeout" announcement was the first time I've EVER seen anything out of them before they were ready to sell it.

Thank you for pointing out I was not aware they had announced it.  But as you pointed out they have a habit of announcing things before they are ready.

We are still waiting for them to show a SHA machine that they have announced specs for.  I will put more faith once they have something to show.   Seems they are a company who has announced a lot and produced little lately.  And I hope I'm wrong in that I would love to see them put out some of the things they have announced, just seems slow on that side.  I am a A1 and A2 machine customer so yes I would love to be wrong.

off to look for your link or you can post it here....(likely a data hall machine anyway) but still asic porn Smiley

edit: ok heck I had seen this but forgot about it (so much fake info/fud so little time in the asic equip to be made world) Smiley

scrypt/btc  asic porn but whatever gets me thru the day .now if a SFARDS would just announce a full version scrypt chip too we'd be looking at some momentum Smiley

BTC is fine but would like to see a scrypt asic revival ..you listening SFARDS? Smiley

Litecoin is already halving.

This is reduce the chance for ROI which it was already impossible before.

Let us wait and see what will Sfards do with the price now.

if the price goes up substantially I suspect new miners will be built but right now Scrypt market is low so very little effort is put into the R&D of new miners and SFARDS knows that

They know that really they are competing against old gear.   Were talking like A2 gear it's been so long.  No one puts money into scrypt gear.

I still wonder if they mined it their self or a big buyer did until halfing.   Guess we will have to wait and see if they start to sell again now that halfing happened.

They just need to make a smaller model for around $200 and they will sell like hotcakes

They could have sold more of the original model at time of posting.  They did the dev and made a new chip, something no one else was willing to (at least publicly do).  They were very public then went silent.

I predict they either went into mining them self or found a big buyer who has a data center full of these.   It was odd that so many resellers got 5 units, and very few units went into customer hands.

Anyways I predict we will see some of these units for sale now.  I predict if they mined their self they now will sell that profit is halved on ltc.  If was big data center who bought up all the units hard to say what will happen.

well my 2 satoshi's here ....I figure LTC would have to go up to around 5 bucks at least for any new equipment and seeings how it follows along BTC (Mario) with LTC as
the sidekick (Yoshi) that means (again I know zip just saying) as a guess around what 400 buck BTC to get the LTC to a 5 buck price again ....sorta kinda?

Unless the BTC Core Dev wars calm down and maybe the China Stock meltdown.....I don't see that happening before next year.

Sh*t re-read the above they designed the last Titan ASIC miners probably when LTC was around 20 bucks or so probably...we could be in for a long wait Smiley

(hope I'm wrong) Smiley    (and even then it would probably only be at a data hall scale and no home miners in that seems the trend with all asic's btc or ltc in the future again imho) Smiley

Will wait for the price to adjust to market. One way or the other prices will be coming down

Yep...you have to remember gridseed blades (SFARDS is rebranded Gridseed) sold them for like 3k initially, prices then plummeted to under 1k each  few months later.

The less people pay for these overpriced miners the faster the price will drop.

Yes I remember, I still have a buddy who owns those Gridseed USB based scrypt miners. I think it was like 300Kh/s or so, basically similar to an R9 270X, and it has yet to pay for itself. The GPUs at least sold for half the values.

I recently shipped my SFARDS to a fellow forum member who will be doing a full tear down and write up on it for the community. When he is done he will ship the miner back to me so stand by for more info on the ins and outs of the hardware and the software interface

I agree I think most units produced went for internal use or a private buyer they probably shipped a hand full to resellers just to prove the miner is real but at its efficiency they didn't do a public release since they are the highest in efficiency for both SHA256 and almost in scrpyt right now I think Titans still are higher

Nope they beat Titans for scrypt efficiency by a wide margin. Last I checked titans were around 5-6 W/MH, these do a little over 2 W/MH

ok good for them ..but at 47mh after halving for LTC it makes little differance for scrypt/pow mining of any note....these units are over priced btc miners (sp30 on ebay
400 usd) ...it is just a gimmick

have them make a PURE full out scrypt/pow chip with the same specs and I'll change my tune Smiley

yes in w/mh ratio they do but each machine only does 50MH you would need a lot of them to equal the hashing power of 1 Titan so the Titan is still the biggest baddest scrypt miner, not to mention you cant get the SFARDS
