Mh...not only the wallet, the market is on halt.....

Any idea why?

No clue. Bittrex isn't saying anything so far, maybe SHELL hit some security trigger for some reason and market was automatically disabled.

I'm in IRC trying to get some news, but nothing yet.

On another matter, there are too many nodes today, damn!

From DCC thread. Surprised to see this post. Comments?

Just wanted to drop in and offer help:
I looked at the code and can fix the issues for 3BTC if the community is willing to pay for it. You can escrow the 3btc and when I deliver a working client the escrow will be released. If this is ok let me know. The fix will include a source and windows compile if needed, I will accept payment in SHELL as well.

Great dev!  Just offering services to the community!   Roll Eyes Grin

LOL

well somebody dumped and shellnode count down to 2 then 4 earlier today.

i hope the dev does her thing

things looking shitty atm

Umm there are 30 shellnodes, and over ten have been active for more than one day.

Will someone please explain to me the incentive to running a masternode? Or just why masternodes exist at all?

One incentive to running one is it can be profitable.  At current price of ~0.00001600 BTC and ~25 shellnodes running a masternode costs about $94 and will earn about $7.5 a day.  Not to shabby  Grin

The reason they exist is for coin mixing(anonymous transactions).

So is it off base to say this coin is in a sense a crave clone? Since its masternodes and a different pos than other % based pos coins?

Not off base. but bare in mind, all coins are effectively clones of a sort.

When someone stakes, the block is sent to a masternode. The masternode alters the block, called "coin mixing" to make the transactions more anonymous. The person who staked the block gets 50 and the masternode gets 50. Since there is less competition among the masternodes, someone with a masternode will get rewarded 50 coins more often than someone who is staking 25000 coins. (At least that is how it is supposed to work, but if there are lots of masternodes and only a few people staking, then the person staking would earn more. But that should not happen. But it could...)

Just one more issue, I'm trying to disable staking on my MN wallet and nothing seems to be working. I have staking=0 and reservebalance=999999 in the conf file, but still some coins are staking. I am concerned my 25k masternode stack will stake as well and I'll have to redo the node.

Anyone have a workaround for this?

Encrypt your wallet.  Your coins won't stake unless you unlock it for staking.  Just have to type    masternode start yourpassword      in the console.

Did you restart your wallet? (staking=0 )

Yes the console shows staking as disabled as well as the reserve balance set properly.

Maybe those 50 coins were just desperate to stake and it won't happen again. :p
