I've played around with a little javascript, python, and C. As a completely amateur, that should be in capital letters, hobbyist coder I know somewhat, how hard it is to bring a great idea to fruition. Here are some ideas:
1 WinNAS has a chat system that cost 1 thing per post, so people don't spam the network.
2 Anon is easily marketable, but if taking a long term view, can wait. Someone said it best when they said, very roughly, "People are fighting over the scraps of anon fame".
3 Facebook is all the rage with crappy games. Sometimes played for this or that "coins". SilkCoin can be a real store of value, medium of exchange, and unit of account. This could be the start of something resembling a real economy.
4 SilkCoin has a loyal and dedicated following. This could be the start of something, but also needs to realize the technological realities.
5 JUST SOME THOUGHTS. SILKCOIN IS LIKE LIFE, WHAT YOU DO WITH IT IS UP TO YOU.

How about a decentralized exchange?
How about the ability to send coin using names instead of long addresses?
How about being a little less idealistic and see that its marketcap should be alot higher compared to alot of the coins that are currently ahead of it?
How about a DECENTRALIZED social network? No data mining, no privacy issues, no censor ship.
Marketplace is still not out of the equation from what I can tell but its obvious that it could put the developers in a lot of strife...

3. The marketcap may indeed go higher, you guys have a nice coin here with devs that are better than most.
4. Why would Jane Teenybopper use a decentralized silkcoin social network when all her friends are on Facebook (this question is serious, again, I am not being sarcastic or trolling).

For me, functionality built into a wallet isn't exciting to me. My browser tabs work just fine. So built in IRC, exchange data, stats, doesn't do anything for me. However, it tells me these devs are better than all the shitcoin cloners out there, which has caused me to investigate this coin further.
Integrated social network doesn't excite me. I can go to Facebook.
Integrated file sharing doesn't excite me. I can google, "[movie] torrent".
Decentralized marketplace would excite me, but the devs seem weary of that. I wouldn't want it for any illegal activity from a personal standpoint, that's not what excites me. A decentralized ebay or amazon.com that uses silkcoin as its currency would cause me to invest. THAT makes this a billion dollar marketcap coin.
Are there other exciting things I'm missing?
In my opinion, the future of the internet and our economy is radical decentralization in a secure, private manner with cryptocurrency the force behind that movement. I want to invest in the coins that lead that charge.

I ask these questions sincerely as a potential investor. Please do not take it as me trolling as I am not.
What is or will make Silkcoin different? I see a pretty wallet (nice job) with some interesting functionality, but nothing that is really innovative that I can't get elsewhere. Is there something DIFFERENT I am missing or that is in the works that should cause me to buy the heck out of this coin?

Information on this is coming soon. Not much more is known but they delivered an awesome wallet and likely have a plan to keep momentum up.

Think PoW will be over in less than 48 hours. 
I think we are looking at Saturday morning PST...I work the night before so I am going to get very little sleep...

So, devs. I have seen in this thread that you do listen to the community, for example the block halvening in this stage and maybe in the future f2a.
As we all know, Apple has loosened its policy in such way that crypto currency apps are allowed.
What if silkcoin released an iPhone wallet or something in that area? Wouldn't that be awesome? Just first apple and then android, just because we are Silk?

I would not encourage doing it for Apple first at all. Why reward Apple ? They fucked up big time with crypto, let's them miss the train a little bit.
The goal would not be to reward apple but to make silkcoin rising even more.
And if Silkcoin can gain some of the apple "fame" why could'nt we do this?

This coin is what I was looking for...great DEV team, community where together we can make this coin stronger every day. Voting on MintPal is just begining, then will be just fun...more a and more people will recognize SilkCoin - SC as trusted crypto currency.

The multi pools must've been all over Silk. Seen the the hashrate go as low as 33 Mh/s according to either a pool or the wallet. Seen it over 110. Wallet's showing 89 now.
I'm new to mining but this experience makes me want to get into it! Damn more exciting than cable. Finding a block is like Whooaaa! I hope they set up a multi-pool after the POW where you can mine other coins and be paid in Silk. Blackcoin has done this I believe. It would create buying pressure for Silk. These last few days have shown me there's enough buying pressure to go around though.

I do think Mintpal will add TODAY SC or CLOAK. Honestly, I hope it will be CLOAK - that will let me cash in on FLT saturday (i do strongly suspect a little rallye tomorrow for FLT, I got around 1 000 000 of those to improve my position in SC with the profit. Gamble gamble, but I think the timing is right. EXCEPT IF MINTPAL ADD SC TODAY LOL !!!!
