I like how both of you have to bring up how long you've been with SPR, as if to convince people of doom and gloom you mention.
Well....if we're doing that, I was with this coin from day 1 and mined quite a bit in the beginning with 20 nvidia cards. I have since gone down to 7 cards and they have run rock solid in a milk crate in my den 24hrs a day for more than 2yrs straight now. I didn't have the time to mess with switching coins/algos after getting my last job and SPR gave me no reason to once I saw the roadmap and all the great things being worked on.
Nobody knows what the future holds, but out of all the old and established coins, the potential awesomeness here puts SPR definitely near the top of the list.
**FYI: Nearly all alt coins with a working chain have seen boosts since early March. Most coins that have not had any movement besides down for years went into definite buy territory around March 13-17 and then spiked up. Plenty of charts out there, so have a look. Not BSing ya or shilling SPR over other coins, just putting the truth out here in case it helps anyone.
I mined at launch. There wasn't a GPU miner on day one, in fact there wasn't one for weeks, so cool story bro. Keep "putting the truth out there". Anyone who thinks SPR moved for any other reason than HLM is delusional. This community long ago stopped trusting Georgem's deadlines and projections, since basically none of them have ever been met. Until a real, tangible, public release comes from him, attributing any current claimed development and hand-waving as the reason for price movements is just silly. We're talking years of vapor at this point, why would people suddenly get excited for his 37th cry of wolf.
...I never said I mined day 1 with GPUs, but yeah, GPU miners came out a few months later and I switched my rigs over to spread right away and mined off and on for first 6 months while switching a few times to different coins.
I remember a few deadlines not being met or being overshot, but i thought a couple had valid reasons from what I remember. Either way, when he was the only guy doing all the work, we could only expect so much. Now that the community is helping to test the releases and is supporting him through Patreon, things seem to be progressing at a decent and consistent pace. You could donate and play around with the updates that have been released if you really wanted, but if it's not finished enough for live chain, why should it be released here to cause confusion for the average user?
http://spreadcointalk.org/ is where the important stuff is happening if people are looking for more exact details on progress.
(and believe what you want as far as the reason, but even CANN has flipped bullish....and that was long abandoned, but since the chain is still functioning, people are throwing some money into it. I could post a bunch of charts of the many alts I've done TA on, but this isn't the place for that.)
