On the EU thread punin posted pics of v2.2 master board that is powered with 2 PCI-E connectors. I am assuming these are the same ones Dave will be using.

..yeah
each cards draws 40 Watt, 16 cards add up to 640 Watt, that was correct. Also didnt punin mention that they "missed" their goal of 40Watt by 25%? so 0.75*640 = ~480Watt  Cool

Dave,

How do you guys power the full kit?

The M-board draws 40W, right?  Is that with H-Card plugged in or just M-board?

Does each H-board draw power from M-board?  On your pics I don't see anywhere on the H-board where the power can be injected.

Some big wires have to come from PSU to M-board to drive full kit 640W+ (53A+ @ 12V) so, we'd need like 6 gauge coming from a three PCI-e
8-pin combiner, or maybe a very short 8 gauge might do the trick?

I'm just trying to prepare my PSU for your kits.

Thanks,
af_newbie

I'm out of time on the v2.2 M-boards for August product delivery.  Niko might be able to pull it off for his orders, but I don't think I can - I won't order these boards on a quick-turn if they aren't tested yet.

Meantime for powering your rigs from an ATX PSU, Cablez was nice enough to whip up this proto on a Sunday afternoon.  http://imgur.com/a/CoAO4

I will get them made locally so Yvonne can pick them up.  Alternatively, we may ship the raw materials in a kitted form (crimp pins require a special tool, so we would do that part), depends on time...

i know promises are important. i assume some people would be ok with it being a day late with everything proper
how long would the delay be for those who wish to get v2.2?

Niko is very close to testing his v2.2 boards, so its still possible.  The thing about quick-turn is making sure all components are on-hand before attempting to estimate that production timeline.  I don't think even a day of delay is acceptable for the different board though - its not much of a difference.

I can see trading them out for you later when I have them in stock...

Niko is working with a different fab to try to get additional pipeline going.  He already has PCB underway from last week.  Not sure when they will begin assembly.

I'm expecting status from China late tonight - I hope we will have confirmed operating H-boards!  At that point, we will go full speed ahead.  PCB is not waiting for this - we took another big $$$ gamble that they will have PCB correct this time, so the assembly is the only thing waiting for this confirmation.

Given the proximity to shipping time, I still don't see the shipping options in "My Account."  I thought there were going to be a few available to choose from.

I hope I get my August kit before August 29th.. I'll be out of town for a couple days then and I don't want to miss out on hashing right away. I just hope everything will be OK. I won't be overly worried if Dave is a few days into Sept..

From the EU thread.  Looks like punin is off to China and planning to start shipping next week...

Any news for the august orders (StarterKit & Full Miner)?
Estimated delivery date?
What steps are still open to achieve for bitfury for a successful delivery of the august orders?

.-)

- Latest news is I'm going to China tomorrow to test the H-board produced on the 2nd assembly line. I'll be back on friday, so don't be surprised if I'm a bit hard to reach.
- Currently I expect to start shipping next week.
- We need to get the H-boards, attach them to M-boards, run tests, pack in boxes, ship.

Yeah, the GOT TO start shipping next week. Smiley Otherwise they wont make it "by the end of August" deadline promise.
Would be very cool when they do, the only ASIC company that hasn't lied about timeframes and definitely would earn my future business.

I guess this is the first time in weeks that this thread has gone silent for more than 12 hours.

Anyways, @Dave : Any updates on how the new PCB's are coming along.?

The USD exchange rate BitPay are using is $99 according to https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates - shouldn't Dave be using that to set his price instead of the MtGox rate?

Just to follow up, I've been in contact with Dave privately via email and he's updated the pricing on the site to match the BitPay exchange rate, so I'm now happy and have placed and paid for my order.

I added sample chips to the store - sorry no CC ordering at this time, but if you can pay Dwolla or BTC they will ship immediately.  My plan is to peg BTC weekly on Saturdays.

I'm attempting to order 4 chips, which you say is 1BTC each, but BitPay wants to charge me 4.411BTC. The exchange rate does not appear to have changed 10% in the last 24 hours, so what's up with this?

***CHIPS IN STOCK NOW***

I've received 5,200 chips in trays of 270.  I can sell them for 1BTC/chip as samples.  Since chip price is now pegged to BTC, I'm trying to figure the best way to put them up on the store without extensive hacking of the store code.

In any case if you want chips, you can email [email protected] with Qty Requested and Shipping Address.  We'll invoice you for the number of chips you want.  Meantime I'll try to get something up on the store.

Remaining stock: 4900

Yvonne has graciously agreed to NO MINIMUM QTY.  That's right - you can order a single chip, or two if you want to make matching earrings.

Cheers,
Dave
