Hi Dave,

Since you sold far less than 300 August Full Kit, are you planning to send Oct Starter Kit earlier?

Waiting to get the first ship notification from the factory...they should have some boards ready by now...

Should we expect good news today, that the first final boards are on the way to the US?

Dave: Can you clarify whether the default ("free") shipping method to US customers is USPS Standard Post (7-8 days to most destinations) or USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days)?

If USPS Standard Post, can you add another shipping upgrade to the site for US customers to upgrade to USPS Priority Mail for $5 or something?

There should be a lower price overnight/express priority shipping for those who are only getting the 25Gh starter kit.

I'm definitely not going to stick you with long shipping time to save a few bucks.  In looking at the $199 shipping option against a single starter, I'm not super happy with the increase in cost to you.  My choice to provide a single one-size-fits-all shipping option is adding too much cost to the starter kits.  However,  I'm wary of introducing more complications by adding a second option at this time, but rest assured I'm going to revisit this issue and make it right.

Most of the cost of the expedited shipping option provides insurance.  The insured cost of shipping a full rig is what mainly drove the expedited shipping price.  If you ordered a starter kit and then purchase expedited shipping, I will either refund a portion of that $199 or drop store credit on your account.  The amount will be $100.

The idea here is to get them in your hands as soon as possible, not drive the price up 15%

Cheers,
Dave
I appreciate that, I have already paid for the express shipping, The credit on the account is welcomed, and I want to continue to buy additional units (M and H units) from you.

If you're pricing using FedEx or UPS insurance options, that may be why they quotes are coming in so high.

Third party parcel insurance can be procured for 30 cents/$100 or less.  Double check though, parcel insurance companies have item restrictions and/or zip code restrictions for high risk items/regions.

You may also be able to secure an inland marine float through your regular business carrier.

+1. You're a good man Charlie Brown Dave.

While it'd have been easy to best the competition's non-existent customer service by just showing up for work, you've been transparent and straightforward. Someone on the left coast buy that guy a beer.

okay, thanks for the answer my second half of the question is whether it is safe to run a PSU for only a starter unit? Do i need a 5V dummy oad or any other sort of load to ensure the unit doesnt kill itself? its 730W
Old power supplies based on the original ATX standard sometimes required this (a 5V dummy load).  Just about any modern PSU follows the ATV12V standard, and they are marked on the power supply.  These PSUs just need load on the 12V rail when running, and most have a resistive dummy load on them for protection already (but don't bank on it).

Glow Stick Dance!
you guys that are jumping into buying these and other large hash machines should punch some numbers in one of the online calculators. Before the end of the summer the difficulty will be at at least 100 million and over 200 million before years end. The get rich scheme will not happen, on the contrary, some of you will never recover the invested money

some of us are hobbyists....and in this for the long haul..... in 2-3 years when bitcoins are $700-$1000 each... tell me about ROI....

you may not understand ROI -
i.e investing with bitcoins ROI may never be reached! regardless of btc/usd exchange rate - if you spend 20 bitcoins and only get 17 back - doesn' matter what the exchange rate is you will still lose on your investment!!!
also, you COULD be better off just spending the money (USD) today buying coins at market price and have MORE coins (possibly) than mining them with the equivalent USD purchase.

for some reason people forget simple econ basics.

risk is risk- noone knows that's why people make projections and guesses

Many of us paid by credit card or bank transfer.  As long as I can trade BTC in for dollars at a profit, I have my ROI.

Because we'd ALL like our October H-boards delivered with our August starter kits....  Smiley

So you want to get full August kit for the price of October kit.  Sure.
People were paying like 19K for full August kits and you want it for 8K?

Let's get the starter kits first, see if they work and are easy to cool.

Looking at the pictures, those boards are very close together and they produce 20W+ each.
Think USB erupters times 10, in terms of generated heat.

Waiting to get the first ship notification from the factory...they should have some boards ready by now...

Power adapters for your ATX PSU's are also in production - they should be ready early next week.  All you will need to hook up your rigs is a standard ATX PSU - (boards will take about 330w running full steam).  Raspberry Pi  w/formatted SD card will be provided, including the latest mining code.  Make sure and have at least a house fan or something to move the air through the cards - it doesn't have to be a pro solution.

Oh, and an internet connection Tongue

Hi Dave,

Do you still see any chances to ship M-boards v2.2 for the first batch of August orders? Are there any benefits of that board compared to v1 other than not requiring the custom power adapters?

my biggest 'concern' is am i going to require PCI-e power cables, or will you be sending the earlier m-boards that will run off a molex?

I never saw any molex connectors, The only thing I saw was two screw terminals a + & - 12volts. The adapter is dual PCI-E to + & - screw terminals.

So the answer to your question is Yes.

Now that you guys are caught up with answers that were already provided before, had you read previous posts, :-)  let me ask Dave again, any chances of getting m-boards v2.2 for August? (boards that DO NOT require the custom screw terminals adaptors but simply plugging in to PSU using a standard cable).
