I assume the huge reject rates happen when the pool switches to some crap coin with a block rate that is too fast for its own good. Upgrading to cgminer 3.7.2 from 3.4.2 and using intensity 16 instead of 18 seem to have helped bring my reject rate down overall, but I still see 10 minute intervals of 30-60% rejects which results in 10-15% rejects for the hour.

I guess it is still better than mining LTC if I get 15% rejects and the pool is doing 120% of LTC or better for that hour.

Terk, what was changed over the weekend?  I'm now getting really bad reject rates again, higher than the pool and cards going sick or dead constantly like I was 8-9 days ago before the last update fixed everything.  I've actually had to disable one card because it was causing one rig to constantly disconnect.

Im much the same as abover, made my own thread but seeing as im looking to mine on this pool, I thought I would post here as well to see if anyone can help me.

bought a £3000 rig

5 x sapphire r9290x
Gigabyte x79 up4 MB and all parts to suit
8GB ram
64 SSD
2 x 1000w Corsair PSU

Running windows 8.1pro

It wont recognise the 5th card for a start (tried entering BIOS and disabling audio but no luck, not sure if I did it right)

Secondly, tried to run 4 cards on cg miner with this config below, all I get is "stratum from pool 0 detected new block", my hash rate is on MH not KH and I while its mining its not mining, if you know what I mean.

I really need someone to team viewer my settings and help me out and im wiling to compensate

Best Matt

For my next rig I most probably will, I just need to get to grips with writing the required scripts etc, for now I just wanted to get mining.

I am a total newbie to mining well 12 days. I first tried with my desktop and it's Nvidia GTX660Ti then realised/found out I needed AMD GPU's.

So I went and bought the 2 R9 280X's the XFX ones, got them working liked what I saw.

The week after I went and bought all hardware I needed to build a dedicated mining rig, assembled in angled aluminium.

Totally did my head in as the H81 board is advertised as plugNplay for 6 cards with win 8 which it's not, looked online for solutions and saw many others with the same problem. Started to get annoyed after I have just spent almost £3K on equipment and hardware/software so I wanted it all working. Tried many methods as others had wrote about and none worked (error43) then I found my solution in the win8 software, let it install the R9's as HD7900's

I am looking forward to learning how to run the Linux set ups, I have also had conflicting info about using a separate client for each card ??

I would really appreciate any advice or pointers to threads or tutorials ?

Eventually I will be building a rig that runs all gpu's and cpu on watercooling and using the heat from them to heat my koi pond via a heat exchanger. Currently I have to pay for a 3kw electric heater for that at the moment. It was a guy on a koi forum that introduced me to mining as that is how he heats his pond, and earns at the same time. Before last week I had never even heard of mining, but have built my own pcs for the last 14 years and last year my 1st watercooled desktop.

Thanks,
Axco.

Finally,

My riser cables arrived, plugged all 6 R9 280x cards into H81 pro btc board and they just would not play together nicely. All cards in rig are 3gb Gigabyte R9280x windforce 3 (GV-R9280XOC-3GD-GA)

In device manager, Yellow exclamation mark next to 1 or 2 varying. Only picking up 4 or 5 cards varying.

Have tried powered risers, non-powered risers, power plugged into the 2 molex SLI / Crossfire points on board just about every CCC available, drivers direct from Gigabyte etc

After trying numerous different drivers, complete re install of win 8.1 64bit and still not partying together I tried something a little different.

When installing the drivers manually that came with windows, there was an option of hardware detected HD7900 series or R9 280x, I chose to install the HD7900 series and the OS then picked up on all 6 cards, no yellow exclamation mark next to any. All cards working and hashing over 700kh each.

I know its not exactly correct setup but it's working, as the R9 280x is a rebadged HD7900 series I guess the bios or firmware is telling the board they are 7900s. They are all working and partying together nicely so it will do for me until the correct bios updates and drivers are released.

So now I have all 8 of my R9 280Xs running and providing total hash rates of 56000kh/s.

Hope this might be of help to anyone else having issues with the H81pro BTC board, my power config is 2 x corsair AX1200i's
:1 powering board and 2 cards with powered riser cables x1, power NOT plugged into molex SLI/Crossfire sockets on MBoard
:1 powering 4 cards all cards using powered riser cables x1, power NOT plugged into molex SLI/Crossfire sockets on MBoard

Win 8.1, using cgminer 3.7.2
Windows drivers HD7900 series on 6 all cards.
I13, W256, g2, thread concurrency 8192, gpu clock 1100, mem 1500, voltage1200, autofan. Best card is hashing 766 and worst 698 monitor display card. All rest in-between. Temps from 67c -83c open air mining rig.

Desktop running 2 x R9 280xs (XFX R9280x TFDF) win 8.1 64bit, Drivers CCC 13.2 hashing at 700-710 each
I 13, g2, thread concurrency 8192, gpu 1020, mem 1500, powertune +20, autofan. temps 67-84 in closed desktop.

When rig first went on rejects upto 37% but overnight it has settled back down to follow pool average reject rate.

Location UK.

Hope this might help someone.

Happy mining,
Axco.

Can someone explain to me why in the general statistics I get a number of rejected twice accepted while in the line that specifies the gpu is not it?

Your stats will show after 1 hour, thereafter you'll see updates every 10 minutes if you scroll down to the "Realtime Hashrate Stats"

@mchron, look at the below definition quoted earlier in this thread regarding the "Rejected untracked stratum share" error, perhaps this could help.

@Terk I get very frequently a message from cgminer that says "Rejected untracked stratum share from pool 0"
Is this normal? I tried to lower the intensity as recommended on various posts but it does not solve.

When cgminer sends shares via stratum, it does not send the share and then wait for the response as this might slow down the sending of other shares. This means that the response back from the pool is processed separately from the share submission (to make the most of a truly multithreaded environment). However there is never a guarantee that the responses come back in the same order you send them. So cgminer stores a copy of each share as it sends it to the server in its own local database of submitted shares. When it gets a response back about that share from the pool, it deletes the copy of that share. Now stratum is meant to be an uninterrupted connection to the pool, and if you lose that connection, it is assumed that your "session" is no longer valid. So if you send some shares and get disconnected before you get a response, cgminer has to assume that those shares have been lost - otherwise it may end up keeping copies of heaps of shares that it will never get a response to and wastes memory. If you manage to reconnect, sometimes the pool will actually tell you "oh by the way those shares are ok" - however cgminer has now thrown out the record of what those shares were and can only say that the pool said a share was accepted or rejected. Then cgminer just says it's an "untracked share"." (c) ckolivas

i think owner should establish extra europe server to load balance!
