Whats new , I am back from vacation and catching up on everything online .....

welcome back hope you had a good vacation  Grin

things have been running stable so not much new Cool

will have some news later this month on some side projects  Tongue

Any one knows if BLC will e listed in Poloniex??

I think that is unlikely any time soon  Undecided

Fortune favours the bold!
Oh, let me check on it

Edit: the transaction daemon hung so I had to reset it. Should be working now.

Thanks. That did the trick.

someone is blocking minimum daily volume on Bittrex so if it gets delisted dont blame me  Cry

atm it is costing me $5-$10 per month in fees to keep it listed without some people doing dirty tricks which can triple that cost Undecided

last time I spoke with Chris/Bill my agreement is simple take up any slack in minimum volume of 0.2 BTC per day but past few months some people have been gaming this for profit and now that has led to blocking of any trades too (due to buy/sell walls)  Angry

this is just not cool at all just trying to do this project along with game dev with limited funds and resources, I did not mind taking up slack as I see it as a chore to be done each day but some people are really taking the piss and its not cool at all  Cry

edit:
much better thanks all  Smiley

FYI, Electron is heading to a reward halving after block 1,051,200.  If you're solo mining, please make sure you're on client version 0.8.9.3 or later.  Thanks.

Nvidia ref 1080 is $699 called "founders edition" only 3rd party cards will be $599 *Nvidia have said this is due to their cooler hmm Undecided

its still bit early for 16nm/14nm GPUs imho wait for reviews as some things might be marketing hype!

Amd are only releasing low-mid tier cards this year so competition at high end is low so might get a price drop or a TI edition next year with even better $/hash/watt

GPUs are more flexible vs older 45nm FPGA and now at 16nm/14nm GPU power consumption is only slightly higher so good news for gamers who also want to mine+play Grin

I wanted to build a new rig with 16nm/14nm GPUs but going to wait as the pricing is not yet competitive enough for my liking so as Cinnamon said:

game changer indeed and imagine the next generation !

According to the press release the price for the GTX1080 will be $599 USD, which is fairly low for a new flagship GPU but still expensive in general. The GTX 1070 will be under $400 USD and may be the better deal, at least for mining blake256, since one of the main reasons the GTX 1080 costs more is the faster ram (which blake256 would not benefit from). At any rate, the ~6gh/s is awesome but the best part is the lower power consumption, which also means lower temps. The article linked to in my last post said that under heavy load the gtx 1080 was hovering around 67 C, so considering blake256 is not stressing the memory i'd expect temps around 60 C while mining Cheesy Compare that to most AMD gpus which run at over 80 C in my experience.

Also thanks BD for pointing out you can mine BLC concurrently with ETH, did not realize that as feasible Smiley

Just saw this http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-gtx-1080/

Rough estimate comparing to 980ti it should get about 5.5 to 6gh/s, and using only about 150W. That's almost as efficient as the Icarus FPGA! Makes me drool  Cool

This can be a gamechanger... depending on price.

just pointing out that right now for GPU can mine: Blake+Battlefield 4, Blake+Eth etc...

nothing special is needed software wise you dont really need some type of dual miner(less cpu use?) or specific game you may lose some speed vs dedicated single algo rig but whole reason for picking and using 8 round Blake-256 for Blakecoin was that it is simple, lightweight, very flexible and suitable for running alongside other applications

* based on AMD card testing be nice if this is also 100% confirmed Nvidia too

I have checked this today i am currently running one computer with 5 gtx750ti  it is currently running on 120 v ac and the ac amp clamp reads 2.4-2.5 amps so about 300watts at just about 5 ghs. very nice

The next gen 14nm-16nm GPUs should be set to half that perf/watt if the current rumor/hype is to be believed so future should be good  Grin

due to blake being mostly on core you can get away with using 2d memory speed(as a rough guideline) which does help power usage on most GPUs  Cool

i atempted to mine x11 and quark algos and although i could mine them no issue the mhs rate was seriousle decreased and i turned down the -i for blake256 and then no shares to the blake pool but my hashing power was returned to x11 or quark

yeah only a memory hard + blake would work e.g mostly memory and a bit of core + only core

from my tests on R9 290s you can mine full hashrate on Eth and get a free 20-30%(of normal rate) on Blake (playing with setting probably could switch this other way round if you wanted)
from my tests on a R9 290 you can mine 70-80%(of normal rate) on Blake while playing BF4 with high settings @1080p (@4k is no go uses full GPU and then some = nothing spare to mine with)

x11 is hashes from multiple algo both core+memory so no surprise it dont work well because it is already using the resources!

*none of the x/multiple algo would be suitable to mix as they are already doing quite a bit of swapping/sharing/thrashing of the GPU

i dont play games at 50 but maybe this weekend i will play with dual mining some more on my gtx750ti sc's and gt960's and give you some better diaginosis
