No one is complain about the devs, they are doing more than great. I was just giving suggestion for future references and how to better the community.

But is seems like suggestions from the people who invest in the coin is bad because it will put "pressure on the team", we shouldn't speak, we should all keep quiet. Sit, wait, 2015, take no action...

O look there is a bug in the software, I'll let the devs know...o wait, I shouldn't give suggestions on how to better the community and coin because that would be using "bully techniques".

Please stop exaggerating to make yourself look like some kind of helpless victim. Your suggestion was unrealistic, considering they are merely developing the software now and giving an update as often as you requested would be useless when there is literally nothing to update about. Unless you just want them to waste time by coming in here to say "Welp, still coding everyone. Also, I had a latte this morning. I might even get one tomorrow morning, too." and other useless information a few times a week just to appease you.

Nobody said you can't report bugs. Nobody said you can't provide suggestions. But when you suggest something that nobody else agrees with, prepare to be told that. If literally everyone else here is saying multiple updates every week is excessive, maybe it's time for you to step back and say "hmm, maybe they are right" instead of trying to act like you are the only genius in a room full of idiots.

I mean, you come in here basically threatening the dev team ("I'll sell all my holdings if you don't provide updates at MY desired frequency!") and expect people to bow down to you? You didn't even make a suggestion, you made a threat. Learn to be respectful and maybe more people will respect your opinion, too.

No offense but I don't agree. There is really no need to put pressure on the team like that. The kind of update you're asking for would be a very legitimate request for almost any other coin out there. However Checkcoin is very different from the rest, these guys are professionals. I believe we should allow the team complete freedom to work at their own pace. Stress-free environments always produce the best results.
I understand your concern regarding the price dropping with silence but I really don't think we should worry about that at all. Let the market do it's up and down thing, the value shouldn't be the focus at this point.
I expect people who are interested in this project to have done enough research to know that this is the real deal. Those who haven't are obviously assuming that CKC will be pumped shortly after launch like most of the other coins. I'm as thrilled as you to have new people join the Checkcoin community but you can't spoon-feed every newbie to the thread. Pleasing the crowd is energy-consuming and never-ending.
As for me, I'm totally cool with the team adopting a work routine convenient to them when it comes to this thread Smiley

Oh is that how it is? If your demands are not met, you gonna sell?  Cheesy I'm guessing you've invested around 100 BTC already, so why don't you go ahead and sell right now then, see if anyone cares? Checkcoin will succeed with or without you. You're in the wrong thread if you think you can use bully techniques to get your way. I'm with this coin from day 1, if you go through the thread, you'll find that from the start, the team posts when there is need to post whether it be once or 3 times a week. Maybe a better coin would be one where the devs suck up to you because of your 100 BTC investment. I actually don't mean to sound harsh here but you can't just show up and use threats to have things done your way. Imagine sending Apple an email threatening to sell your iPhone if they don't email you work-in-progress screenshots of the next iPad at least 3 times a week.

while i think FlyHigh22 was asking too much in one of his earlier posts, i don't think 2-3 posts a week from the dev side would be too stressful. that is just keeping in touch with the community. i don't expect updates of significance every time. they could just take part in some of the chatter here.

you can't really force this, because it will be perceived as work and turn into stress. just loosen up everybody Smiley

@ObscureBean

there was actually a 144btc buy wall on bter, so maybe fly indeed has 100btc in ckc. that is a lot of money and its quite natural that it will keep you on your toes.

...maybe we can get a richlist some day Wink

I do not have anywhere near 100 btc, single digit only.

I wasn't demanding anything, I was giving suggestions.

Devs, according to what the other people are writing in this thread it is fine to vanish til 2015 and update us when it is complete.
I have no idea what I am talking about. Asking for several minutes a week to write up an update is asking for a truck load. Staying in touch with the community and updating us is a bad thing. Sorry everybody for being a commander.

As far as I saw, there is updates often enough in this thread to not have to complain about lack of devs talks..

We must live in a different world  Grin.

To answer some of your questions regarding future updates, news and announcements:

We understand that there is still a bit of time to cover untill our geo software, mobile applications and platform are released. As shown on our roadmap, the coming weeks will be spend on setting up a good PR strategy and campaign. Part of this stategy involves showing the cryptoworld (you) what we have been working on. This means more articles, demo's, video's, screenshots and information as we work towards our closed BETA testing phase.

While most of time is spend on development and testing, our company understand very well that PR and transparancy are two very important factors. Because of this we will always remain active on these forums, the checkcoin community forum and social media. In addition, we've also assigned someone to keep our website's blog up to date.

TL:DR

Thanks for the update.

It is always wise to proceed steadily. Technicals should come before promotion, but preparation for promotion is always good.

It's not that big of a deal to have days without a single post, but in this case I am really wondering what's up with the fulltime PR manager.
Too busy with bringing the message to clients, to show his face now and awhile here or at the checkcoin forum?
This is not what I expected when Tim made the announcement, especially when Maurice is being paid for doing PR.

And please don't try to hype by saying things like "Big news coming on" and the like.
I had my share of that ******* with other coins. Nowadays for me in altcoincity it's seeing is believing.

Not that I don't believe in Checkcoin anymore. Far from that, as the concept is a golden opportunity.
It's the communication with the community that is lacking imo.

Just my 2 sat...

I'm sorry you feel this way, please understand that while we are all working as hard as we can. I am still adjusting to the transparancy and high demands that exist in the (altcoin) crypto world Smiley

While Bitsend is very happy with the succes of the initial coin offering, we will always try to avoid high costs. Instead of hiring the most expensive PR company we have decided to do some research first. This is exactly what I have been doing and I believe it is the reason we have not yet blown all of our ICO funds. Even though this might mean things like PR and marketing take a bit longer to setup, atleast we can be 100% sure time, money and energy are spend on the right people and projects.

you make valid points, but are you saying 2-3 posts a week are too much?

Not at all. But I don't think it's healthy to enforce a rule for the 2-3 posts per week. There are near infinite legit scenarios that could mean the team is unable to fulfill this requirement 10 weeks in a row. By the end of the second week most people would've already stopped believing any explanations as to why updates were not posted. With no hard rules, this is no expectation and thus less tension. It allows the devs the freedom to remain true and post when there is something worth posting about instead of having to come up with 'filler' posts just to make the post count every week.
Also one should not forget that there have been in the past plenty of 'devs' who were outstanding posters but who still ended up scamming everyone. Regular posts by a dev does not mean your investment is safe. So enforcing a post rule only adds to tension and stress and doesn't actually guarantee anything. If some weeks the devs are around and feel chatty, they can post 10 times a day and if some other time they can't make it to the forum for a week or more then that's fine too.

So what if he does have 100 BTC invested in CKC? Everyone invests of their own free will, nobody is forcing anyone to buy CKC. If you sell your house and put all your money into CKC, it's your choice but it doesn't mean the team has to be here at your beck and call. If you stand to lose big, it's your responsibility, your stress, don't make it everybody else's or pass it on to the team. I hope I'm not coming across as mean because that's not my intention.

Could you update us with your progress at least several times a week with screenshots of the software or even few sentences on parts you are working on, etc. Even if the devs are working really hard on the software, a few days with silence will cause the price to drop fast, especially since the release will be awhile from now.

This coin has so much potential and I am in it for the long run. Good luck.

A few sentence several times a week takes like less than 5 minutes a week and it is not stressful. That is not asking for much...if it is let me know, you'll see my sell orders up soon.

Some people invest more than just .5 btc in alt coins you know. I know a lot of us invested in this coin because we are excited about this coin and wants to know the progress.
