Since we need some extra steam to get to that 1200 rank quick, I am putting up a bounty!

The person with the highest 24 hour total once we hit rank 1200 will get 0.15 BTC! I will be using kakaostats (http://kakaostats.com/tsum.php?t=224497) to get this information. Lets get to rank 1200 Cheesy

Edit: Just to clarify, I mean 24 hours prior to the rank 1200. So say we hit 1200 on Aug 5 at 04:00 UTC, all points from Aug 4 at 04:00 UTC to Aug 5 at 04:00 UTC will count.

Got two i7s with quadros working on this 100% over the weekend. Made 14th on the team list so far. Just made enough WUs with passphrase enabled to qualify for bonus ppd.

still about 30 spots left in the pool, payout currently 4000 GLC per round, show off your folding power a get some coin  Smiley

Still doing good for rank 1200 goal, slowed down a little from the intial rush, but holding a very nice pace

edit : now the progress increased but only 6k PPD for HD 7970 and HD 6670 ?
1. add to folding@home link parameter: --client-type=advanced
2. close folding@home (from icon in tray) and run it again
3. right click on gpu units choose finish, and wait until work is done, or
    - delete gpu slots, wait until work is cleared, readd gpu slots, they will load core_17 work units, and pps will be higher.

also you can try use --client-type=beta, just check that core_17 will load on "log" tab (in my case it did not load)

I have a PC with i5 2500k, HD 6670, and HD 7970, but why on my status page on web says that 3 of them are running, but the progress are 0.00%, ETA 0.00 secs, and PPD -- for all 3, but the CPU and GPU usage are all high.

Does 2883 PPD sound right for a HD6850

My GPU's are only hiting 50 ish % use

thanks

That seems a little low. Try CryptoBullion's suggestions on the end of page 6. Also make sure the "Folding Power" is set to full, and that you have a core for the GPU to work with. This might require you manually set the number of cores the CPU client is using, if your folding on the CPU.

so do nvidia cards still outperform comparable ati cards with the new core 17? Say, a GTX 650 Ti Boost and an ATI 7790 ?

Generally, yes. Some exceptions are the 7970 with the newer core_17 and possibly some others. They are closing the gap though, but nvidia still reigns supreme for folding.

The irony, for me anyway, is that I sold my (albeit older) GTX 460 and picked up a 7850 because I wanted to play with cryptos just a few months ago. And here I am legitimately interested in what an alt coin could offer, and it preforms better on Nvidia hardware. Oh well.

your 7850 will hit 30k ppd with a core17 project, make sure you set the advanced options to client-type=advanced or client-type=beta  ( edit the shortcut on your desktop, the parameter is on the end of it)

then go to option, then expert tab, add this to the extra configs (the right window)
-gpu-vendor=ati

you might have to go to your roaming data dir and delete the old work units, in appdata/roaming/fahclient/work/  delete folders 0 1 2  or w/e to clear out old work. when you fire it back up it will use core17

not sure what a gtx 460 hits but i doubt its much more than 30k ppd . ATI speeds are up by ~ 600% from what they used to be.

Thats the good thing, they are working actively on ATI and lots of progress has been made, just in the beta stages. Now, just need to get ATI to make their linux drivers acceptable for folding.

i might be looking into seti pool  Wink

Seti has a pretty huge following already though, It might be interesting to pick out one small network researching a good cause, maybe something that takes less over all computing power to complete. Seeing all the work on a research project completed due to a large spike in computing power would be interesting.

i think back in december 2012 BTC and SETI were equal powered networks at around 300 tflops

Finding alien communications would be sweet though  Cheesy

I'm going to copy/paste a post I made in another thread just so I don't have to retype the same thing again (sorry, but I think it's relevant to this discussion):

Quote
HOLY CRAP!!! Even though I was only part way through my first cup of coffee when I posted that this morning, I thought my math looked off - but I obviously wasn't awake enough to register the fact.

I'm still relatively new to this forum, and I'm not sure this is the tread for it, but let me take a minute to say HELL YES, CURECOIN, HELL YES cygnusxi, AND HELL YES TO YOU GUYS THROWING SOME CPU/GPU TIME AT THIS.

Even if Curecoin as a crypto doesn't become something that's traded on the exchanges, or exchangeable for goods or services (and don't get me wrong, I totally want to see it to continue to move in that direction), what this project is doing is something bigger. The 61 of us (as the team page reports) are coming together to do something that could truly change the world.

I'm sure many of you have had friends or loved ones with alzheimer's or cancer or the like - and know how ravaging these diseases can be. Not just for the person experiencing them, but for those who want to be there to support them through their (at times inevitably losing) battle. If team 224497 - team CureCoin - is able to provide medical science enough information to even inch research a fraction of a percent along, we're doing something more important than the biggest GPU farms or highest hashing ASICs out there - we're doing something that could lead to a better future. And we should all be proud of being involved.

Hat's off to getting this project off the ground.
So after we've amassed enough computing power to finish all the work F@H has for us and cured every disease, what do you guys say to a SETIcoin?  Wink

More fixes to payout logic, currently trying to simulate the 24hr pay schedule intended for folders.

Made some sense of the stats, the old block graph has been coverted to track our points per day  Grin

Relabeled a bunch of stuff to so (almost) everything makes sense.

Take a look, give it a try  Cool

Stats will be more accurate soon.

about 30 spots left in the folding pool.

Received 100k globalcoin donation last night from SistaFista.

Payout rounds are going to double again up to 4000 GLC per round !!

Also, every last member who had under 200 coins now has more than 200 coins in there balance, some were given a little larger random bonus. (2000 glc random bonuses to a few small powered folders  Wink )

Ive made more improvements on the payout system, however the big dogs are folding so fast they are getting a big share. Ill continue to add some bonuses to smaller users. Every little bit help.

check out my "folding on a vps for free" thread if you want to get some points for free without using your pc

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-start-a-remote-foldinghome-vps-for-free-264613

oh, Im almost finished with another nice upgrade. you'll see soon. The project was definitely a requirement for testing the payout logic of curecoin. As cygnus just announced, folders will be paid an amount of coins equal to the amount mined my miners during the last 24 hours. This creates a perfect balance to make sure people mine to secure the network, and hopefully it will keep the folder to miner ratio as close to 1:1 as possible.  a lot of people will split there hashing power and put half to mining and half to folding ...

i should note if i have that you need to have your auto payout threshold set up to make sure you get your coins.

oh good news too, SistaFista is going to donate a pile of globalcoins to the pool. in the long run i hope everyone manages to make few dollars in crypto for helping. Globalcoin value has been doing pretty good. This pool will surely atleast pay for your electricity + a little extra while you fold. Payouts will continue to raise per round as the pool grows. Im charging no fee on these coins given out. If you are one of the people who are doing this just for the cause please set your donation lvl to 100% or w/e lvl you want. that way i can know how many funds are left to disperse to the ones that came to get some crypto. any donation % in this pool is going right back to the other folders.

My WDC and DGC pools are still temp closed to save resources for the current project . my fastcoin , xencoin, globalcoin, and mastercoin pools are open, low fees. If you want to help me out you can always hash there and put a few % in the donate option.

Again though for eveyone using the pool, please set up autopayout if you want to collect your coin, or adjust donation. There is a pretty good pile of global coins waiting for you. Value on coins e is worth the trade.

Looks like melnikalex1 is gonna give the team the extra push it needs. According to kakao we'll be rank 1200 in a months time!

http://kakaostats.com/t.php?col=11&t=224497

Keep folding!

We are actually moving way faster then that. Current pace is ~500,000 PPD , rank 1200 is ~9 million points, we have 3,791,808 already. at 500k PPD we will be reaching 1200 in about 10 days.

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=224497   - this one estimates moving up over 836 ranks in 7 days, from rank 2,127 = Rank 1291 in 7 days.

Team Intel and Team Pande labs ( our next targets to beat  Grin ) are putting out ~1,000,000 PPD
