Don't forget that it will take you some time to ramp up to full payout on a pool that has PPLNS.

I believe that the more miners on the pool the longer it will take to reach the full PPLNS since your % of submitted shares is lower.

I considered lowering the PPLNS but found that it was not fair to lower hash rate miners.

Advertisers starting to pick up on digiclick.co.  Would be awesome if these advertisers start accepting DGC.   Wink

fenican's has given me %100 my projected daily payouts for the last 3 weeks... so not sure where else you've mined.

also luck is luck. as long as the pool "works" then all pools provide the exact same result.

hate this notion that some pools magically pay out more than others. it's not like your pool gets 30DGC per block and mine only gets 20.

what you're talking about is luck, and luck always varies, but evens out over time so that everything is equal. there's nothing preventing my pool from nailing the next 10 blocks, and yours taking a day to crack one. that's just the way things work.

unless there's actually something not working about a pool, or if the pool operator is taking a skim, then it's all the same.

will never understand the allegiance to the megapool... it runs couter to the core philosophy of decentralization which is crypto currencies to begin with... how can someone mine on a pool which has routine problems with being over 50% of the total network?

*EDIT, http://dgc.epools.org/ is CURRENTLY over %50... sigh

hey guys, can we get some people on fenican's please?

http://p2pool-dgc.com:9500 - fenican | 1% | Ashburn, VA, United States (Amazon)

not sure why everyone mining DGC is on 1 of about 2-3 major pools... isn't that against the spirit of decentralization?

not hating on the other pools, but come on there's no advantage to being in a pool which has almost half the hashing power of the whole network...

Well, i'm mining on dgc.epools because it's giving me the highest payout of any dgc server , either p2pool or pushpool Smiley

http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com is a Scam. I just mined for 18 hrs and got half the coins I should have. Mining at 2150 KH/s -estimated 270 coins/day. I have 105 after 18 hrs.

How difficult is it to solomine on linux? or where can I find a pool that actually pays as it should?

Edit: Or maybe my low payout is a function of pool luck?

People need to relax a bit and not scream scam at the first sign of trouble.   My pool has been operating since launch and I've had some of the biggest hashers around stop by, never had any complaints.  I'm afk this morning but will take a look into it later today.  Don't just look at 'coins per day'.  Look at the blocks the pool has solved, do you think you were paid out unfairly for that amount of blocks?

Does your pool average out over time to provide the estimated coins per day? If not then what is the point of mining it? If I mine DGC based on 270 coins per day at my hashrate but I get half that then there isn't any reason to mine it. See what I am getting at?

Scam sounds a bit harsh.. I haven't used that pool so I can't comment on its effiencency. When I pool mine I stick to the no-registration p2pools. And estimates are just that.

Solo mining is just as easy to setup as pool mining. What program are you mining with now? cgminer?
An estimate is an estimate but all the legitimate pools I've been involved with are very close to estimates - off by +/- a couple percent. When I get on a pool where I am off the estimate by 50% then something just isn't right. It is usually these pools with the generic setup that all look the same which gyp you on the coins.

I am running cgminer but I do not have a DGC-qt installed on my rig.

You will need digital-qt running on a computer on your network to solo mine. Just 1 or 2 lines need to be added to the digitalcoin.conf

do you guys think a pool located closer geographically would be better than either of the two recommended pools?

I had no problems mining on a pool in France from the Western United States. Might have increased my rejects a little but it worked fine.  Smiley

You can add https://www.multipool.in to your pools list.  DGC is on port 3343.  No fees.

Thanks!
