800.000 doesn't seem so few coins... well it's much more than I have at least.

If it is actually resurrected, wouldn't it be fair to fork it from an earlier block? Because now there's probably been only one miner who's gotten all the blocks for months.

Yes probably, or said miner could donate a percentage to the fund for a new dev

I don't think that she or he mined so many iCoins. I mined my last iCoins at the beginning of September (when icn.multi-pool.eu stopped) and the block was about 122000.
Now about 700 blocks leave to block-halving.
We all should donate the dev team if any occurs

I have just started a thread over at the GAW forum to see if anyone from that community is willing to help out at all.

oke, I was not aware of that.
I still hold a big chunk of iCoin myself, but I have given up on this a long time ago.

I nearly found someone to take over but the network was assumed dead, now I know it's alive in some part, I'll see if anyone is interested

I would be great if some new dev team appears. I'm ready to donate 500.000 ICN

There is still a massive amount of premined coins in the hand of the dev,

No there isn't, the original dev sold them in an IPO: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6336610

I remember the ICO, so there should be no old premine left

I think we can give up on this.
There is still a massive amount of premined coins in the hand of the dev,
If (not likely, but if) a new dev team takes over, and the coin gets any value at all, he will dump them.
Better way will be to start a new iCoin...
After al it was the name of the coin that was good, not much else.

People could just do some giveaways too, I'd be happy to giveaway most of what I am earning at the moment if it means getting the coins back on the market

Hi Chicago and Snipey,

The address that seems to have kept mining is 109.81.238.157:9889

My wallet is fully synch'ed and there has been a block mined some minutes ago.
