I bet they do have something in mind for that. There's no way grants will be awarded without a proper revision by some specialists in the field.

That's good. The future heavily depends on researches we do today. So it's better to spend the resources on projects that have a potential benefit.

There's no soft cap since we have a trust-generating funding model over two years. Regardless of how much we raise, we keep on developing:)

It works both ways, there are calls by funding agencies for a special field and also scientists apply for funding for their specific idea.
