I still don't have my wallet fully synced.   Could someone who is running Jackpotcoin add my node?  My node IP address is:  52.55.95.161.

Anyone have a more recent jackpotcoin block download files posted anywhere?

It's been almost 3 years....oh how I regret not selling till this day. Still no dev...still going nowhere.  Cry

Dude, don't feel bad. I lost out on $15k or more because I was still a noob when it came to crypto.  I thought since there wasn't too much volume that if I sold a bunch, i would hurt the price growth too much.  Boy if I couldn't go back and teach myself what I've learned since then lol. Ended up losing a decent chunk in scams, selling enough to almost break even on my mining rigs, and then keeping the rest.  Never won a jackpot though Sad

Got my wallet up but have a really really hard time to sync.. im stuck at a block 155 days ago. Everything else seems intact. 100k+ transactions on file etc.

Since I'm no developer myself I cant offer that skill but I'm prepared to fund someone that can develop.

Would be great if we could rise this coin up from the ashes and make something of it.

New client that works faster on a Windows computer is needed. If people cant load their wallet the coin dies I guess.

How about lowering the amount of coins? Instead of billions have millions?
its a matter of time and luck that happens in our ways of work everytime.

I have two  Jackpot coin blockchain files..   I am also running the Jackpotcoin software.   My node IP address is:  52.55.95.161

Also, here is a link to the block files that I have.  I'm thinking it was last sync'd early to mid 2016.

I still have those coins from 2014. My last sync date is end of 2014  Cheesy

Would someone be so kind to upload JPC blockhain folder as ZIP or 7z, and post a link here.

Only files that we could sync fast to the latest block-height, not using bootstrap.dat file.

Thanks.

...and btw which wallet version should we use?

Just posting to say that the network is alive. I got the wallet synced up yesterday!

Works for me too, also got a fully synced wallet and it looks like the activity is increasing! Smiley

I ask because I do not know. If I mined at 3.1 Ghz from an Amd CPU, how much of a machine running 24hours gives me coin?

Hmm, I must tell that if there's no way for old coin holders to get into the new one, that I won't let you use the name JackpotCoin and will keep the social accounts. No way to lose my coins and I'm sure the guys here agree with me. http://explorer.jpcpal.com/richlist.php

We agree with you JackpotCoin, but I bet most of us on that list are ready to lose some coins (and not all!) in exchange for a brighter future for JPC.

What I think is best is to make a brand new ANN announcing the potential relaunching of JACKPOTCOIN and start a poll and let the community decide what they want.

One problem with being on the old chain is that it will be very difficult to get listed on any exchanges due to the high supply outstanding AND it will not have much incentive for miners since the block reward is low with respect to the overall supply, no miners and the chain might get broken again.

How many here are actually holding any of the JPC coin currently???

EDIT:

Here is the new PRE-ANN

PLEASE VOTE IF YOU ARE A COIN HOLDER

Well, I may have spoken too quickly, it seems stuck at block 3963910. I let it run anyway...

I'll have to check the last time I fully synced, but I don't remember it being broken, just remember it using lots of cpu resources the longer the trans history of my addresses were. (at least it seemed that was the reason)

Actually, the blockchain is not dead, I'm downloading blocks from last 30 days. So a swap is possible, and it's the only way to get support from old supporters if you want my opinion. For the new chain, I would opt for a Lisk codebase or something recent if I were you, but it's up to you...

Was wondering if anyone would like to see this coin RELAUNCHED!

I remember it was a very successful and fun coin to mine back in 2014.

I am thinking of basically starting over with a brand new blockchain.

There are already a bunch of miner software for this algorithm such for AMD, Nvidia and CPU.

Maybe also change the block reward or is 100,000 block reward good enough?

I will leave the 1% premine in so others can assist me in hosting the website, hosting the nodes, pool bounties, language bounties, etc, etc...

The AMD software most likely will need to be recoded to work with the newer RX series cards.

The NVIDIA software most likely will need to be recoded to work with the newer Nvidia 1070/1080 GPUs.

Need to check in with the original dev and get permission first however.

taking over a old coin is not a easy job! promoting or RE-promoting a older coin is almost harder then starting fresh with a new one! when people see a coin get disregarded even by the original devs very little trust is given to even the best of devs that try to push this back into life.
im not saying that it cannot be done but what i am saying is that if the community is actually wanting the takeover then it should be a nice group of devs or quite a few people working on it to help the outreach even to those that have disregarded it already.
the coin is a valid coin and it has already passed its maturity  from time so finding good people each willing to do what is possible to get this going

That's why I am trying to get input from the community whether they want this coin relaunched. With enough support we should get it relaunched and see how it goes.

I'm in and can help a bit with funding where needed.

I got in contact with the old Jackpotcoin developer and he says we are allowed to take over the project. He is very busy and doesn't have time for the coin anymore and is pretty much done with the project.

Unfortunately the old blockchain seems broken, hence we won't be able to continue from the old chain or do any types of coin swaps since we can't prove who owns what coins when the chain is broken.

I am looking over the code right now and trying to get it ready for the Linux and Windows wallet. The CPU and GPU miners that are out should be adequate to get the project started at least.

In the future if we get enough attention we can hire some developers to improve the miners so the Nvidia and newer AMD gpus can mine. However that will be further down the road.

If you have anything you can contribute to this coin let me know.

So if the blockchain is broken (and it can't be repaired somehow?) JPC needs to start all over and all old JPC coins are lost forever?

Or is the blockchain broken after a certain date and all coins before that date is intact and we can just roll back to that date?

Rolling back the blockchain isn't a good idea because for one if some coin holder sold at a future date, then he will get his coins back for free (similar to what happened with ETC). And the individual that bought those coins would have nothing because they would be on a different chain.

Secondly, this coin halves I think every 7-8 weeks or so. So after 3 years of halvings there wouldn't be that many coins to mine. Without miners the chain would halt.

It would be mostly POS however if there were no coins to mine, then there would be no coins to stake and the chain would come to a halt again.
