We are in the process of updating notary nodes and during this process basilisk will not be 100% reliable.

For maximum reliability, use native komodod. And just saw some new releases go into the release pipeline that should improve Agama reliability in general.

Sure, I was just confused, because of that reliability post.
Is that just abaut the 5% interest that could be lost in basilisk?

there isnt a way to do atomic swaps without downloading a full node?
not practically.
literally hundreds of remote RPC calls would be needed. For basilisk mode it is much fewer and still there are problems. At least with basilisk connection problems, the end result is that nothing happens.

with barterDEX, if you get a connection error, you will likely lose the funds for your trade. So the consequence for a connection problem is much greater and there are a lot more requests needed.

So, while it would be possible to do, I decide against it. Just not safe. Now, if we can get some SPV wallets with a more complete set of RPC, then it would be possible. However, even bitcoin doesnt have that many SPV wallets and I havent found one with enough of the RPC (equivalent)

If somebody knows of such a SPV wallet, please let me know

And also that quote "with barterDEX, if you get a connection error, you will likely lose the funds for your trade".
I did not understand that. Why would one loose their funds if a connection problem occures? Right before the trade process starts the traders adress could be send to the network and only if the network send back "ok" to the trader than the trade process could be started and even in the event that the trader has any kind of connection problem before the trading process finishes, it could be done in the network and after he is back online, he could get his coins on his adresses.
the reason is that atomic swap protocols have CLTV portions which allow one side to claim funds if the other side does not follow through on their part of the protocol.

So if you are relying on external nodes to do your part of the protocol and it starts but does not complete, your funds are at risk. That is why I dont allow to use basilisk mode for barterDEX

There are several trades that all have to happen within a several hour timeframe and more preferably within a few coin confirms. That is not place to be relying on other nodes

I looked into my Agama wallet 5 mins ago and i got 0.09 JUMBLR for 200 KMD. Is that right? Or is there coming more later?

Ok, things have definitely gone bonkers in Cryptoland, folks!   A simple re-test of the ATH in BTC terms means that KMD will be trading @ $5!!!   Shocked

$5 is nice, but $20 is where dreams come true. Tongue

$20 is nice as well but $100 would be better, so I can retire!

I will sell all of mine next price hike! tired of BS in projects like this.

personally I am tired of idiots who post baseless complaints like whiny little brats. oh, and as the local shill says -'cheers'
just to be clear I am referring to the post by 'ka82'.

And what's your "base" for $5, $20, $100 valuation since your comments have solid supporting facts?

The OP's comments were specifically referencing the KMD all time high value - his point being that when it returns to that level, which isn't a big stretch, that would put its relative valuation to BTC at around $5.

My post about $20 was just having some fun, based on nothing... and the subsequent $100 was probably the same.

As far as this being a shit project, uhh right. I've held since early BTCD days, I've seen some serious stuff happening since then, this project is in many ways unprecedented. I'm sorry you don't see t that way. Cash out on the next rise, there's plenty for everyone.

Mr. awill333 was saying that my comments are baseless...but these valuations are also as much baseless  as my complaints...
I just haven't been able to understand the use case of this project, while in other projects you can at least clearly understand what the purpose of the crypto is...

also if you guys are really concern about the USD valuations and want to get rich soon and don't care too much about the project, how come you didn't invest (speculate) on other cryptos which some came even after komodo, starting from less than $1 and now they're all way up, for example:

OmiseGo:     July 14th:  $0.5   >     Aug. 31st:   $11.94   (24 times)
Nexus:         Feb. 5th:   $0.11  >     Aug. 31st:   $3.05     (27 times) (only in 2 exchanges)
Bitconnect:   Feb. 5th:   $0.51  >     Aug. 31st:   $136      (267 times)
Lisk:            Feb. 5th:    $0.16  >    Aug. 31st:   $7.28      (45 times)
PIVX:           Feb. 13th:  $0.01  >    Aug. 31st:   $3.53      (353 times)
NEO:           Feb. 5th:    $0.13  >    Aug. 31st:   $32.85     (253 times)
Ubiq:           Feb. 5th:    $0.05  >    Aug. 31st:    $2.76      (55 times)
Waves:        Feb. 5th:   $0.22  >     Aug. 31st:   $6.09       (54 times)
Shifts:         Feb. 5th:    $0.03  >    Aug. 31st:   $2.32       (77 times)
Stratis:        Feb. 5th:    $0.09  >    Aug. 31st:   $7.33       (81 times)
Bitshares:    Feb. 5th:    $0.003 >   Aug. 31st:    $0.15       (47 times)
Komodo:      Feb. 5th:    $0.11  >    Aug. 31st:   $1.46       (13 times)

Please don't tell me the dollar valuation doesn't matter...this isn't something that I started....above are facts that you could certainly become richer if you were invested in any other cryptos than kmd.

One way tp measure the performance is the above valuations and above data clearly tells me kmd is under-performing comparing to statistically sufficient crypto samples.
wow you really laid it out there. im a big holder of this project, been since ico, and i see so much going great with the projects jl777 does, barterdex as one, but what confuses me is i recommend this constantly, twitter, and my investment groups, and everytime i explain what kmd is, jumblr, barterdex, they get excited, excited enough to buy, but as soon as they have to deal with using the wallets, the excitement fails. i dont know why they made another wallet, aka, gui, before agama was out of beta and had zero bugs. or if agama was going to have bugs, why not make a fully functional non beta gui. I mean, Neo had a working gui a week or so after rebrand that was done by the community. I just dont understand what is point of having many not fully functioning wallets. Just need one that grandma can work and that is reliable.

I don't know who jl777 is, but it doesn't really matter because as you stated above none of the wallets working well. I've heard this for the past 4-5 months that it's gonna be ready, soon to release but same old. Even the komodoplatform website hasn't been re-designed as they promised. No clear roadmap as where we're standing and where we're going.
If you dont know who jl777 then whatre you doing here? Hes the lead developer, the brain behind so much work here! Its not perfect yet, but so ambitious.

Do you know his background? what's his ambitions? I know who he is, yes he's a lead developer.

Questions or ideas for BarterDEX GUI interface capabilities:

As different users may use different wallets/GUIs a user could choose inside the BarterDEX GUI for each coin what wallet he already uses on his local machine. As I understand correctly just native mode wallets will be supported in the beginning.

If so, also AGAMA could be choosen for each coin, if it's running in native mode. That could integrate AGAMA and BarterDEX even more and it could be merged one day (within AGAMA you could than specify if you want AGAMA to create your wallet or use a existing wallet that is managed by a third parties GUI).

Basilisk mode: A user could choose trusted servers that save his adress and run a trade or alternatively the adress that starts the trade could be sent to the network like an transaction/smart contract, and once online (the trade contract) and confirmed by the decentralized network, it could be executed independently if the traders are online or not and the coins already can be transfered to the trader adress(es). When he is back online, his wallet gets updated as it connects to the server or decentralized network that stores his smart contract on the blockchain.

Is it safe to transfer KMD from agama wallet in basilisk mode right now or can funds get lost when there is no network connection to extern nodes in the time of transfer?
funds dont get lost if nothing happens
if there is a connection problem and nothing happens, nothing happens

it is like not being able to connect to a website and the page doesnt appear, doesnt mean the website is gone. it just means the page didnt load

I have been using Agama in basilisk mode for a while. Mostly it was working fine. However, since a while I don't get proper balances. I know this is a known issue and has been discussed in this thread for a part, but I would like to know what my options are if I want to sent my KMD. Should I go to native or full mode for instance?

By the way, I tried all the advised steps to solve the zero balance issue and installed the last version of Agama/Iguana.

Primarily users use the lite client or web wallet which does nothing for the decentralization aspect of crypto currencies,  though for at least Waves and Ethereum there is a full node client with gui.  Mind you it took over a year each for both projects to do this.

James took a different approach with Agama and Iguana Core,  focusing more on the importance of each user acting as a node.   And recognizing the flaws in lite client setups created basilisk which connects to random nodes of a 64 node network.

It is buggy no doubt,  but when perfected will be an excellent crypto user solution allowing for all the different things you can do with crypto in one place.

Centralization is why many projects like NEO, Waves, Ethereum were able to offer a "grandma" wallet right out of the gate.   Web Wallets and Lite Clients  connect to one server.  Other projects have forgone GUI entirely like Zcash.  New release of Agama is coming out shortly and notary nodes are working on providing better connection.

As for why a BarterDEX GUI:  The explanation is simple,  currently Agama is not stable enough to do BarterDEX swaps due to some native mode issues.   Many people who favor BarterDEX tradable coins already have a coin daemon for their favorite coins.   The BarterDEX GUI is just an interface for other coin daemons.    Considering that the more volume that BarterDEX generates the higher KMD price goes it is important to have an easy to use solution that is compatible with the current way people do things so that they will be inclined to use the service and generate revenue.
first thanks for great informative reply. So none of those projects have a true Gui? Interesting. Thanks for the explanation. I had said agama and a gui, what i meant was agama and swing wallet. both are buggy. Like i said, Im a believer. I keep adding to my stack slowly. My agama works fine, but i had to dl the 1.6.2 and the 2.02 and the other file to get it to work. But it works perfectly. To me it doesnt matter. I go with jl777. I just hope that as people hear about komodo and all the other projects, when they try to get it, and the wallet frustrates them, that they dont leave such a great project in frustration. But yes, the easier to use functionality across all supernet assets I know is in the future...and that future will be bright!

Crypto connoisseur.

I will sell all of mine next price hike! tired of BS in projects like this.

personally I am tired of idiots who post baseless complaints like whiny little brats. oh, and as the local shill says -'cheers'

preliminary snapshot is at http://5.9.253.204/snapshot.472000
It appears to be 99.9%+ correct, let me know if your address has the wrong balance.
I will continue to search for discrepancies.

The above snapshot creates the following sharedrop: http://5.9.253.204/sharedrop.472000

the second snapshot matches 99.9996% which is likely due to the sporadic curl errors that happen. It seems close enough.

The numbers look good for my wallet address. Should I now see TUMBLR in the Agama
