That's one good reason not to be naming coins after people and/or states and governments.

nuts i cant believe luckminer is down..

I generally have cypherpool as a failover but i hate mining there because of the 500 rounds to confirm... it takes forever to be credited..

Guys you need to avoid any pools that offer the 42 coin, as they are being under ddos attacks frequently

I was hitting this issue as well, very up and down. We have a list of other pools you can use, if you know of more let us know We'll be posting some more of our own soon.

One other thing today - the LuckyMiner pool keeps shutting down on me. I'm running cgminer and it either won't connect, or runs a few minutes and then tells me it's waiting for the server. Anyone else?

I don't get it, can you explain your POV?  How does publicity that an altcoin is basically a scam that closed down for fraud going to help the image of coins.  You and I think differently.

No it does not help, scam coins do more harm than good to the community in general.. what you are saying is ridiculous, media attention is not always positive.

before you blast that coin. remember that that coin brought brand new people attention to cryptocurrencies . any kind of media helps everyone.

I think the OP's post still has a link to the old wallet, and I can't download the new one from Github. 

If they are in your wallet it then the pool issue shouldn't matter. What OS are you on and what is the experience you are having (error, nothing happens, etc?). Are you using the latest version of the wallet or older? PM me and I'll be happy to help you out.

Yep that is correct at the moment, we haven't changed anything in terms of coin specifications yet but we most definitely WILL be changing these specs to ensure the long-term health of the coin. Block reward modification seems like the most reasonable approach, but I've been talking with Lonestar108 and there are other things we can do too; there are also some very cool features in the pipeline for the coin including a possible sister-coin so you could do merged mining. Don't want to get ahead of myself and I've probably already opened the door to more questions than I have answers for at this very moment but I wanted to share that there are definitely bigger plans in place than making this just "another altcoin". It will have specific features and advantages other coins do not have; innovative features, not crap like "there will only be 42 coins! zomg!" or "look a coin with a gay-fish-turned-rapper". We have real innovation planned.

We are in the process of populating the wiki, we've got some info posted on solo mining, mining pools, and faucets. More info is being added daily(http://kittehcoin.info/wiki) and we'll update the community on our overall progress in a new thread tonight when I escape the day-job .

Exchanger? We haven't been added to any new "real" exchanges yet, we are holding off on this until the coin informational base and core services are looking solid, healthy, and professional.
