Yeah sorry I meant to clarify only the mac wallet has been updated so far, the windows wallet will be posted shortly and I'll make another update. Sorry for not calling that out. Pink Kitteh will be gone from windows soon! and the launch screen should look much better as well Smiley

Dano a couple of things my friend, I know this might not be the time, but, did Lonestar give you any control over this thread? Honestly the original announcement on page 1 really sucks, whether it's title or content, it looks like chicken scratch, I made a parallel announcement once because I was so sick of this one, if you search for it you will find it.

If you can not fix this announcement you might want to start a new one with the relaunch. Is there anything new with wallet update other than the Logo? this coin needs something to put it above the rest, 2 weeks for just a logo change is not going to cut it, I suggest you implement a major change before relaunch, I could think of two that were discussed but never implemented. Either you add a feature that would give this coin added value, or you implement the idea of cutting total coins in half and adding a 8 super blocks on daily basis to cover for the cut coins, this will give the coins already mined or invested in instant value gain, and the super block feature adds new interest from miners, if we are following through on a logo that says luck, then how we are not to reflect this luck factor in the mining process? 8 super blocks daily could mean an added value to the Asian market that finds the number 8 to be lucky, change block values  " 888 to 8888 " with 8 super blocks of 888888  or what ever you guys do the math.

Seriously if you are not implementing a new feature, please consider the block value change, also make the early investors happy and the early dumpers mad.

please comment on this asap. Thanks

Note: I registered and parked that Dwasyluk  nick posted on the first page to prevent anyone one from abusing it.

Excellent points stuhlman and yes we are working to try and get new features into the relaunch (2 specifically that are unique to KittehCoin, as well as upgrading to 0.8.6), I don't want to get ahead of myself by announcing anything prematurely. Thanks for parking that nick, appreciate it Wink. We definitely want to relaunch with new features but a big part of it as well is just having a solid information base for KittehCoin and places that you can use it and that will accept it as payment which are also a large part of the relaunch. Also please understand we haven't spent 2 weeks just building the KittehCoin codebase, actually its been the least focused on by the team at large. We've been spending this time building the community around it, games, services, and core information so it can even legitimately exist in the first place, the coin could be the most unique in the world but with the information available as it was at the first launch it would still have gone nowhere.

We will post the relaunch as an entirely new thread that is why I have let this one go as-is for the time being, we are also planning a status-update announcement post as a new thread as well.

Regarding the block reward settings- this is something we were actively discussing in the devteam chat on KittehCoin forums. We were discussing cutting the reward by 1/5th across the board with bonus blocks or something like you mentioned in order to increase scarcity. The coin total has already been cut once (100B to 50B) I don't know if cutting it again would be bad, I'm not opposed I just don't want people to think anything shady is going on as it's not we just want to make this coin successful even if that means slightly modifying the specs to do so (this is a relaunch after all, but all current coins will remain).

The problem raised with a block reward change is that it would require a hard fork of the codebase which then miners would have to switch to; not the worst thing in the world and definitely something better to do NOW than later but all things that we have been discussing. Would love to hear your thoughts on it (and the community at large). I know dumpers may be upset but I'm not really concerned about them; shouldn't have dumped! Look forward to your input Smiley

Thanks
Dan

All sounds good now you made me feel better about holding my Meows, but, you mentioned the coins have been halved already, as I recall this was an idea Lonestar was toying with before he got pulled away, this actually never materialized. Unless there was an update I missed, which I highly doubt. Please confirm was it cut once from 100B to 50B, or it was not?

If it is already cute by half then our coins would be worth a lot more, and this is not bad. but i'm not technical what will happen with hard fork of the codebase? what will happen with our coins, can you please explain

I am having issues with the wallet.

Specifically, IT WILL NOT TAKE RPC COMMANDS.

I have a cryptocoin gambling website in development. Currently it allows gambling of bitcoin, coinye, and livecoin. Kittehcoin is next, but the wallet will not accept the cURL requests, even from command prompt.

I notice one anomaly: This is the only wallet I have ever used which came pre-encrypted.

Can someone build an unencrypted QT wallet for windows?

that would probably fix the issue. Leastways its the best idea I have so far.

Pre Encryption stops those would be thieves would it not ?

Where a empty wallet sits,,, then when you have coins you add them and encrypt.
But the old unencrypted wallet still works, and "PooF" Ding Dong your coins are gone....
Old pre-unencrypted wallet must be shredded after the coins are moved to a encrypted wallet with new address.

There is a tutorial, but I have lost the link, if I find it I will post.

This will help understand if you are new to this like me Smiley
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-safe-is-the-first-address-in-the-standard-client-114069

And a doggy competition uses a qt wallet and it is Very Slow and over 1gb in size allready, if fact they are looking to create a new wallet like multibit style.

Honestly, I prefer the reefer smoking cat....

me 2  Grin
me 3  Grin

That's fucking vomit-inducing bad.. Are you serious?

Yes.

I like the design, it should also appeal to the Asian market as well.

It's not hard to do better than that. You can use the porcelain talisman, just do something with it.
If I may do a side-by-side.. that's as good looking as a chinese copy of a Mercedes.
