The burn adress is not secure, i would skip,this
i would really like to know why not secure, also check the link this is the burn transaction

http://chain.altcoinsteps.com/api/getrawtransaction?txid=312836b37559ee1a92a12302efab6697fba454f663d7e150cffe0f707ac9b58b&decrypt=1

Code:
"value": 5756871.827,
      "n": 1,
      "scriptPubKey": {
        "asm": "OP_DUP OP_HASH160 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 OP_EQUALVERIFY OP_CHECKSIG",

        "type": "pubkeyhash",
        "addresses": [
          "SMJ12qn9jNCCXJnTYRz5Yu9ZenERqvYwfg"
        ]
      }

notice the  "asm": "OP_DUP OP_HASH160 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 OP_EQUALVERIFY OP_CHECKSIG",

Because u cannot proove u didnt generate key for this.
Proper burn adresses are: 1stepsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx etc. Something that would, need months/years to generate priv key

Zombier0 you are speaking complete trash!!!! As the burn address was listed by Earls well before STEPS was even thought of there is no possibility at all that the priv key could be generated, it would be just as hard to generate the priv key for SMJ12qn9jNCCXJnTYRz5Yu9ZenERqvYwfg as it would be for an address like STEPSBURNaddressHereu9ZenERqvYwfg , they are both unique addresses and would take the same computing power, ie: impossible today!
Do some research and read up on what you are commenting on before making comments like that!!!

yeah love that new Logo, Go STEPS !!
& yeah for that Trend Micro thing someone from team should def do escrow

I would happily act as an Escrow for this. I think it's fantastic that people have things to offer but I don't want our community losing out in the mean time.

Agree with you regarding escrow for Trend Micro, I hope the Trend Micro Team contact us, would be to their advantage as well.

I agree with it too  Smiley

hmmm and i can prove i didnt generate key for 1stepsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
PS please read before you comment how the address is generated
http://earlz.net/view/2014/10/22/0340/provably-spendable-altcoin-burn-addresses

You can also generate it by your self, no privkey is generated during the process so address is un-spendable

(5756872.827 of initial supply was burned by sending to address SMJ12qn9jNCCXJnTYRz5Yu9ZenERqvYwfg)

SMJ12qn9jNCCXJnTYRz5Yu9ZenERqvYwfg

this is the burn address from http://earlz.net/view/2014/10/22/0340/provably-spendable-altcoin-burn-addresses

you can compare it bitwise if you like, i think they are the same.
