We lose about 0.5% efficiency over 10 minutes by switching coins.  Besides switching being kinda the point of the pool, the pool is configured not to switch unless the profitability of the other currency exceeds the profitability of the coin being mined by 1%.  The pool will also stay on most coins for at least 10 minutes to prevent hopping too fast.  (exceptions are MNC, LKY and ARG.)

Does the minimum time that take the profitability ratio into account?

For example, if it just switched to coin A (profitability 2.0) and suddenly coin B gets profitability 10.0, will it still wait the full 10 minutes before switching?

I re-challenge all of you doing so well on the Multipool, to raise your Donation level to 5% for the rest of July.
Show some appreciation beyond taking today.

Be well.
T.

I can't believe that out of the top thirty users, only five are donating 2%. Flound, I highly recommend that you institute a 2% pool fee and add the donation on top. You should be compensated for all your hard work!!!

Some pay services are in the pipeline.  Until then, if you can't afford a fee then please at least turn off ad blockers and allow the site to display ads to you.  This helps by giving me some ad revenue that I can use to pay for the servers, even if donations are a bit low.

I have two rigs running a total of ~4200; I'll look into starting a test case to generate some numbers.

I will be moving the EU pools to a different server tonight to address some of the reliability issues.  For now I am increasing the share difficulty to 64 to help lower the load a bit.

Was the difficulty increased on all coins, even on the US server?

It is stated on the website newsbar that it was increased on all servers.

You're right, look at that. I used to keep an eye on the newsbar but Flound had stopped updating it for a while.

With such a high difficulty, it's pretty much useless to mine using a CPU or slow GPU. Hopefully user selectable difficulty per worker will be available soon.

If I could set my own difficulty how would I decide what value to use?

I'll have a chart up on the help page to help you decide.

OMG,  I have mined on multipool all day and have recieved less per day than I normally do.. I hate all the switching...

I want to vote on Coins to mine  and mine the coin that has been voted on.

Or another thing is set deltas that the coin has to cross in order to mine it.  for example set Handicaps for more desirable coins.

So in my mind i might give MEC  a .1 handicap so that another coin has to at least be more efficient to mine by .1% in order to mine it.

Agreed that the rapid switching is a bit much. Maybe the coins 24-hour or 7-day profitability should be factored in, just seems like there is efficiency lost in the switching. I sell the coins very quickly, and still don't get the advertised profitability. It was also suggested that I should sit on some on the coins and wait for the value to go up, but that's not necessarily what the pool advertises.

I sell my coins fairly slowly (1-2 times a day max), and I am still pretty close to the calculated profitability.  Do you have any hard numbers you can share?

As far as sitting on the coins, that's more speculation; you can potentially increase your rewards this way but it's also possible for the value to go down.  It's not something I particularly endorse unless you know what you are doing.

Is anyone else having trouble withdrawing MEC ?
When you click the cash out all I get is a page refresh, coins stay put.

Plz check it out

Wow, I noticed the wallet was getting a little low earlier, so I sent over 2000 coins.  Looks like those have been withdrawn already so I sent over another 4000.  You should be able to withdraw soon.

On pools where the difficulty is user selectable, they usually have recommended settings based on the speed of your worker. The faster your worker, the higher you should set the difficulty. If you are mining using a CPU, then the lowest difficulty should be selected.

I've still gotten about 2.15 profitability personally for the past 24h, and one of my miners was down for about 6h last night.  We can't always have days like yesterday and the day before.

Plenty of NVC now available for withdrawals.  I'll leave the confirms at 260 for now until we build our reserves back up.

If you hate auto switching, just pick a coin and mine it all day long. Handicaps are already set by multipool based on actual stale rates and orphan rates. Multipool still has a large element of luck - sometimes you get more, sometimes you would get a little less and you must sell all your mined coins right away to get the reported profitability (unless you want to gamble on the exchange rates). If you want to micro manage your mining, multipool port 7777 is probably not for you.

Whats going on with trc pool? we are getting only orphaned blocks.
May be an attack to terra network

The terracoin network has been under attack all day..  It's not currently obvious what the attacker's aims are.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/terracoin-attack-over-12th-attack-confirmd-261986

I just mined on Coinotron for 10 hours and got basically no Terracoin. Something defiantly wrong. I would stay away.
