Will this project by any chance integrate a decentralized tracker for the torrents? I think the torrent community is in desperate need of this!! A decentralized tracker service would be massive game changer. Please look into this!

It happens in linux wallets, windows or both?

mac wallet is this safe to use  Huh

It is perfectly 'safe' in using any version of the client as long as you DO NOT encrypted your client or by keeping a working backup of the encrypted client (wallet.dat) before you create any new address every time.

This possible bug with the client is NOT RELATED to hacking of any sort, my best guess and what I am focusing now is that the bug could be related to how the client generate new address in an already encrypted client and possibly in some circumstances affected the wallet.dat file making it impossible to get the client to unlock even with the correct passphrase.

My first priority right now is to try to duplicate the issue and try to find the real cause of the bug.

I have tried to get in touch with xCash developer since their users is apparently also affected by the same 'possible bug' but still haven't heard back from him so far.

Thank you all for understand and support.

A client in which mining involves seeding torrents would be very nice. Monetize the sharing!

Unfortunately, there has been another report from a user (a few hours ago) about a bug in the client which affected users cannot unlock their encrypted client with the correct passphrase.

Since the first report from our user, I have been debugging and researching on the issue. What disturb me the most is that there are also at least two xCash users reported the same issue in their thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9934379)
and the fact that vTorrent is largely based on xCash led to possible conclusion that both currency is affected by the same bug and not specific to our client.

As of now, I still cannot duplicate the issue myself and I am still unsure if this reported issue is a vaid bug, but so far there are 3 vTorrent users contacted me with the same similair issue.

For now, I would recommend all vTorrent users to not only have their wallet.dat backup but also to export a private key and keep in a safe place, in case that the bug is valid users will be able to regain access to their coins by importing exported private key.

Also, it might be best for all users to migrate to unencrypted client for now at least until I can find out more about the issue.

Sadly I am the third unlucky person in this event.

Not sure why or how the passphrase got changed as it is now showing invalid passphrase when I try to unlock the wallet with the same password I have been using. I have been using the wallet normally for a few week, then I created and send my funds to a new wallet address. I used that new address for my mining income. Nothing I have tried works and there is nothing I can do to fix the problem.

Here's my address with 14080 VTR received

XWrXjzvn8oPGn9bNcvWeXzv5P5CCPgK5U1

and another one with 7642 VTR received

XRqZ7bCDrZtiZ5FMzkDCWZSSzhQcZ36cLw

Consider all of those coins ~21722 VTR are burned forever.

As developer stated, I also strongly recommend everyone to keep their wallet unencrypted for now.

Thank you developer for being open and serious about the issue.

Even with my bad experience with this unfortunate bug, I have no doubt that VTR will be one of the best alt in 2015.
Honestly where all of a sudden did these hackers come from that are stealing everyone's coins and their passwords and shit? What ever happened to just having a good old fashioned ICO for a coin then abandoning it like the good old days Tongue lol

What the hell is going on in Crypto nowadays lol When I first started it was Pump and Dump groups trying to get you to pay them BTC for insider info then it was on to the ICO, IPO scams and now they are just straight up putting viruses and bugs in people's shit to steal all their coins and shit!! This is one fucked up world that we be trading in Smiley lol Anyways so far no problems on my end Dev but I always keep a backup of my wallets especially the ones of coins that I can stake Wink

Don't forget that we are just over half way through the mining phase, so there's going to be sell pressure until POW is done.
