Working very well on win64. Never synced so fast even when block count was under 300,000. Nice work RaiBlocks node developers Wink

Announcement

The RaiBlocks Team are pleased to announce the release of RaiBlocks Wallet 8.0 for Windows 64bit, Mac OS X and Linux. This is a major upgrade with significant improvements in the speed and reliability of wallet syncing. Other changes include the addition of new RPC as well as upgrading of the included submodules. It is recommended that RaiBlocks users upgrade their desktop/pc wallets to this latest version. The team recognise that the GUI has not been upgraded - it was felt that backend reliability was more important to improve.
At this point 32bit systems are not supported due to the block lattice file system exceeding 32bit OS limitations - it is advised to either upgrade your OS or use an online wallet.

To download please go to https://github.com/clemahieu/raiblocks/releases/tag/V8.0

While the wallet has been tested extensively for further feedback please go to #new_wallet on the RaiBlocks slack channel.

Some Changes:

  • Reorganized the bootstrap code to be more readable and also fixed a number of edge cases where it would start from the beginning
  • Votes coming off the network no longer cause an IO write every time greatly reducing running IO
  • Blocks are processed in a single queue greatly reducing bootstrap disk IO
  • Fixed issue where network requests would wait for IO to complete lowering throughput
  • Fixed issue where log rotation size couldn't be changed
  • Fixed an issue where the database resizing could cause a crash
  • Tracking and displaying peer version number in GUI and RPCs
  • Fixed a number of issues found with clang sanitizers

YES FINALLY!! IT'S BEEN RELEASE!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS RELEASE IN WEEKS!! Sorry for the capslock but I'm just too excited and happy reading this. I can't wait to use the new wallet and see the improvements  Grin

Can't think of a harder working development team in the crypto space other than Bitcoin Core...

Just wait for a couple of hours or days cause sometimes it takes days for your xrb to arrive in you wallet.

Not very promising for a coin that promises instant transactions.

If you have already downloaded the OS X or Windows 64bit wallets then please downloaded them again, there was a missing commit in the binaries which has now been pushed. You'll find the wallet boots much faster...

I'm waiting on a wallet update too, it will be the next big step and right now is the biggest hurdle holding this coin back.  Most people don't even bother using it since it takes too long to sync up normally.

I think Raiblocks is a really promising coin and it is hard to understand why it is that much under the radar for most investors. Everyone is looking to IOTA because it does not have any fees but there exists Raiblocks with the same feature much longer and has only a bit of the attention IOTA gets. Hope this will change soon. I bought a good stake of Raiblock coins.
IOTA has gathered attention because of it's supposed ability to solve the scalability issue which all cryptos seem to struggle with.  Though its ability to actually do what it says is heavily in doubt.  The whole zero fee feature is more of a secondary interest.

Is Mercatox legit? Withdrew XRB to a wallet. Site says paid but both the wallet and blockchain explorer say no transactions to the address.

Yeah mercatox is legit I've been trading on that site for awhile now. Just wait for a couple of hours or days cause sometimes it takes days for your xrb to arrive in you wallet.

The faucet is still on maintemance,  when will it open again?
I cant sync my wallet too and sometimes stops i will probably wait for the next wallet.

One user from the raiblock's group in facebook ask one of the devs about it and he said that the faucet will be back on the 27th or on the 29th.
