Funny, they don't reply to my emails...

not to worry - S3 is coming in '3 days' u might as well forget any further expectations of support for S2...

i have resigned myself to accepting less than i paid for - its cheaper than the alternative which is to send the whole rig back and wait for a 'maybe' better one in a fortnight

which is just madness

does 1721 seems like a good deal to get a potentially buckled, crippled miner with awful support & 'more virtual coupons' if your rig is a lemon?

There's always the risk of damage in transit regardless of the vendor, but my last S2 made it to FL in perfect shape in 3 days. Bitmain has always responded to my emails so I can't complain. What rig would you suggest instead?

Actually these rigs can run ok with better PSU and adequate safety precautions (metal plate - missing on mine, foam strip  -missing on mine)

the broken blade was replaced but the rig was already 10 days late and we are talking about shipping from china to thailand, a 4-5 hr flight.

this rig (with the additional capacitors) is now running as expected albeit with random power downs that require PSU manipulation to rectify temporarily.

Batch 3 rig with no additional caps is running fine over 1 TH with OCZ 1000w PSU - NO RANDOM POWER DOWNS

Batch 4 rig rarely sees above 960GH/s - enermax1000w PSU, same random power downs.

Compensation whilst NOT expected NOR demanded was offered - and accepted, since then NO compensation has materialised so why offer???

when called on to explain, more BS virtual coupons are offered, but who in their right mind would accept coupons that are given away by the dozen as reasonable compensation??

if ANY of you ask for coupons they will be given - so HOW is that compensation for losses incurred due to;

1 - late shipping

2 - damaged hardware

3 - back to front RMA procedure

4 - shoddy workmanship

5 - awful support

If you haven't purchased from BITMAIN before then you may not realise that its common for you to recieve your parcel before they even have a chance to update their web site to say its shipped.

Bear in mind that 13:58 your time might be the middle of the night China time (unless of course you are in China) then you can give them a little leeway.

Have you tried emailing them before throwing your toys out of the pram here? (Bear in mind its the middle of the night there now)

I would have to agree.  The Bitmain website is not always up to date with shipping information.  I have gotten a product from them before receiving the shipping information.  Have faith!  Bitmain is solid!

I'm a positive 6/6 on my S1's and from my lurking on the forums it seems that the lemon risk has been reduced since the earlier batches.  Truth is whenever you order something from over seas or across continents there is risk for damage but its generally acceptable and not excessive.

As for me I think I will take the leap on the S2 soon or the next batch for Dragons, price dependent.

Did you read the thread ?

See below ..

WaldoHoover

Well, in theory I offer hosting services so this could be a physical unit and/or hosting along with it if that was needed.

With that said, I'm in talks with Bitmain regarding getting an S2 GB going and they are actually more interested in working with me on a next-gen product.  Shocked  Lips sealed

I know that's not the news everyone was wanting to hear regarding the S2s but I'm still trying to work something out with Bitmain to help out all of you guys who have been replying and contacting me directly.

I'm going to begin tallying everyone's interest and will post more in here/or start a new thread.

end quote …

also if you rewind this thread and read, Bitmain stated that they had a next generation low cost product upgrade due out soon …
