I think they offer this kit only for the buyer that is in rush to purchase. After their holidays something else
will be announced just like the S1 that went out of stock and later on after 10 days if am not mistaken
on sale again....
In companies like bitmain the income clock must turn fast as a fan not its only like a clock and this is not
good as its increasing the temperature....

So many people bitched and moaned about the PSU that came with the S2, Comment after comment about sell it without the crappy PSU, because I am just going to replace it anyways.

Now you can purchase an S2 without the Enermax PSU and people wanna cry about that.

Bitmain was purchasing PSU's most likely a thousand at a time, probably around $15-$25 each, and same for the case that many people didn't care for.

If you don't like the current price, wait till the end of the holidays and see if it moves in your favor.

Buying a PSU on your own is on your shoulders as to what it costs. There of cheap ways of getting one and  $$$ ways of getting one. You would have been leary of what comes with it anyways.

If you don't know what to do without a case, look at the GPU rigs, there are a ton of great ideas to use that are nearly free to duplicate.

Not a DYI'er; then wait ...........the next gen is coming. If you had BTC a week ago, its gone up in value and your ROI well........................?

Dude if you can source an enermax revolution 1000w at 15 usd i'll be glad to pay you 40 dollars per unit for 1000pieces.

IMO the foremost reason for building the S2 was to use up a humongous stockpile of 55nm ASICs before the new ones arrive. Making a machine to compete with the 1T A1 based machines was a perfect solution: it gave Bitmain a stop-gap product and it used 10x the ASICs of an S1. Certainly it was never a cost-effective machine to produce, but the S2 accomplished its goal, the stockpile of ASICS is diminished. Now it's time for it to be retired. Why offer the S2 kit? Well, again IMO, the kit will satisfy some customers clamoring for product NOW, and it will be cost effective for them to sell and ship without the bulky case and power supply

I never said anything about PSU. And making a case for AM S2 would take 1 hour, it's not a problem. I just like how Am S2 looks and I would like to buy it in the way as they were being sold before Smiley That's all. I will wait for AM S2 batch 5 announcement or S2 kit price reduction Smiley

I'm curiously waiting to see if they release a new U3 or form of single USB miner with the new chip. That would give a low cost way to test the potential of the larger new units.

Soon Bitmain will deliver bag of chips, screws, resistors etc. for the price of working mining rigs and we should DIY that and  celebrate because he delivers.

Good thinking.
No, including the screws would be stupid, but if he did, people would moan over that too!

Hi !! I wanted to buy few AntMiners S2 in a few days but I see there's no AM S2 still available. Does anyone know will they be still available to buy? Or is bitmain planning to sell only those silly S2 kits with HUMONGOUS price? I will be very grateful for answer.

And btw, in my oppinion they made a huge mistake with giving 2260$ price for those kits. There's no PSU which costs a lot + case etc. Not smart move.

Gosh, I like a bargain like anybody else, but if bitcoin will keep rising as this, mining equipment will be expensive when calculated in $$, as S2 is.
The same 2260 price is 3.40BTC right now, but it was 4.05 BTC ($2309) on May 26 and ~3.2 BTC for group buy.

When bitcoin was low and mining equipment cheap, some were not buying. Now, as the price of BTC went up from $340 to $665, people are complaining about the expensive equipment. You buy cheap and you sell high-that's the general idea in anything investment related.

I'm talking only about ridiculous price of S2 kit. Because I don't want to spend extra money for PSU, case and other parts. With those parts, price will rise to at least 2600 $. Price of AntMiner S2 was good. And I'm asking about S2 miner availability, that's all.

This happen in nov-2013   asic miner usb sticks were as low as 7 dollars they jumped to 50 dollars.

I have a lot of gear I have been holding and I can now sell at a better price then I could a month ago.
