what it doing this firmware ?

heres the alternitive same scripting with the latest firmware...is this maybe a psu problem like everyone else is encountering? fml lol im so sorry but im sure this is somthing very basic im just to new/inept at this to understand. I cant tell you how much I appreciate the help.

http://postimg.org/image/mr81etx8t/ab14913d/

Like the guy above said what kind of psu are you using? are you refreshing that page it doesn't refresh itself? Do you have your pools setup or is that page blank? are the lights on your hashboard lighting up? Do the fans spin when you miner is on?

I can't remember brand he posted but it's a cheap PSU.  So it is possibly the cause. Then again he showed pictures after shipping it was handled so bad a fin broke off in shipping and was moving around..... so it's hard to tell what all this miner has been through

He really should take Bitmain up on their offer of support.   He keeps spamming questions instead using support.

It is a CoolerMaster, he showed a pic about 70 posts back, about 35 being his own posts, LOL. Here: Post 9488. No idea who actually makes those.

They don't want to post in the thread that's in his language, don't think they know Russian for that section, they seemingly only want to deal in this thread, and not take up bitmain's offer of help  Cry  I'm figuring they are going to end up on people's ignore list.

My first guess would be the ribbon cables but if that there would be pools.

So, what you are showing is immediately after flashing while the antminer pool is still the default?

Can you show a shot of your Overview?  ...and of your pools page without the passwords?

so im still having problems getting my one antminer s3+ and two s3's up and hashing after factory default resets. Every time i try and download the latest frimware, it appears to take to my mac but not on the antminers themselves. Anyone have a guide or a quick bit of some help to offer in that regard?? I have all three antminers on my network and connected to the mining pool the the miner status screen still looks as if it has the default worker login info in the boxes...... Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Cry

What do you mean by "Every time i try and download the latest frimware, it appears to take to my mac but not on the antminers themselves"?  On firmware be VERY careful but downloading it to your mac will not update the miner.  You would have to download to mac then update miner through web interface.

What happens when you put in your pool / user and click apply?  Does it save it in configuration page?
And if you have three miners you have to change the ip so all are not running on stock ip. Easiest way is to connect all miners after you upgraded them go to your routers/modem log in page and through there assign ip's to your server write these down label the miner for easy access and log in to each miner individually remember that they may reset ip after upgrade.

There should be an manual with firmware on bitmain website. refer to manual.

Okay so Ive worked through all the problems I view as the networking side of things already. Such as Changing them to separate ip addresses, Accessing them all on the router and through there web interfaces. The flash firmware step was definitely a piece I was missing on the actual antminer, I kept downloading firmware and missing the button to apply it on the miner SO THANK YOU for that.... But ive now done that here this morning and im still showing 94 percent someodd free space here in my miner software screen..... http://postimg.org/image/6j151dtjn/73021405/

Im still not hashing but everything else seems to be connected.... When i did have one of these up and running the amount of free space was around 40%..... Does anyone know what i need to alter in regards to that potentially solving this for me?Huh

i had tons of problems with the jan 2015 firmware for the s3.
currently on the dec 19 2014 firmware on mine and they are working fine.

if you downgrade make sure to uncheck the box to keep the settings.

is that the second to last option? do you recall? im trying that now i also notcied when i hit update lists on top of that 90 percent bar... just to see what happened. I get this. http://postimg.org/image/r44w2smyn/acc76e31/

his X keeps moving.. its been in 3 diff spots.

225 seems too fast for this s3.. possibly 218 would be better, more reliable.

edit, the power supply he linked is not the ideal psu to use for this kind of power needs.

plus it looks like there are only 2 PCI-E cables.. with 2 ends each, one 6 and one 6+2..
there for its like he only has 2 plugged in, instead of all 4.. since they are using the same wires.

i have plugged 4 pCI in s3 .

 Angry

may be faulty Electricity fault? if i that have bad PSU ?

Thank you for sharing your experience!

For Bitcoin Mining, Please Please Invest GOOD $ in a GOOD STRONG PSU such as 80 Plus Gold or above.  You will not regret it.

Very good advice.  I went from a 550w Bronze psu to an 850w Gold psu on the same miner and watts measured at the wall decreased 5%.  Not only do they provide power better, they do so more efficiently.

Electry problem is ?

Look at post right above yours.  Bitmain has a great support team.  They even gave you a personal invitation to contact them.    I highly suggest doing it and giving them a try.  I would stop posting until you give support a chance, it just looks like spam as many have said.

There is webpage:
https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Skype:
BitmainEnglish

And email:
[email protected]

Just to name a few ways to contact them.

*Edit appears his post is no longer there.

@ToQcHista,

please contact one of our support tech.  I'm sure you are trying to get help, but forum mod may see you as SPAM.

We have techs available for you to trouble shoot but if the hardware is damaged, you have to replace that item to get it fixed.

I had a 600w that i blow as soon as i connect the s3 so i bought a 1200 and ran it along side my pc. Older psu say they are putting out but you could bank on 70-80 percent of what max is. I had an s4 that was doing that when it wasnt getting enough juice at the wall when i connected it to the proper amp outlet no more problems.

Even though it went away it means your power supply isnt producing enough power to run your miner. That x even though its gone when you look at the screen means that your not getting enough voltage. Someone said the x kept moving meaning the voltage was being distributed with one always under powered. You should get a bigger PSU.You could overclock your miner around 505 with a nice PSU. Overclocking voids warranty i guess but may be wrong do it at your own risk.

I'm not bothering to look back at what power supply is being used, but I think it was a 750w. That should supply all the amperage it needs. The problem could lay in the wires, or more specifically if an adapter is being used. Also, it's odd how different the temps on each side are. There could be dust filling up one side or heatsink fins could be gone or bent up. Lots of things to consider here. The heat must be causing the x, and with a restart it should always go away if it was heat.

I have a nice 460w fanless PSU I'm using for my overclocked to 250 S3. It's generally 399-402 watts at the wall, with a super power factor. So bigger is not always better. It doesn't like being much above 45C, and that is because I still haven't opened it up and redone the thermal transfer compound. I have the PSU in front of the air intake fan, and the exhaust fan now is vented outside, so the PSU is cool as it's going to be, and the miner also until I take it apart and fix it all up.

It does look like a very cheap PSU.   So it's hard to tell.  It would be nice he tried it with a better quality psu.

But i remember a lot of his threads, it shipping it looked broke the fin on heatsiink.  So it's hard to tell what has happened to this miner.
