does anyone have problem with bitmain when doing wire transfer?

I did it the first miners i bought and it was a pain in the ass at least in canada.

Had to pay 2.5 % conversions fee from CAD --> USD

also it's like $100 fee from the bank, at least for me it was.

BTC defiantly the way to go.

Might actually pick one of these up.  How much is it again?

Looks like  7.972BTC

Hope not.  That's quite pricey.  Although, I paid 4.92BTC for an S1. Roll Eyes

And that doesn't include shipping or taxes.
this is good  ,I like it

AriesIV10 just mentioned this on the forum and they are right.  The RPM's on your fans are WAY TO LOW!  If it is on auto, take it off of auto and put it on manual to 100% as soon as possible.  At least 80 or 85 percent minimum.  My guess is you already have them on manual and need to increase the percentage.

I am very curious about how high temperatures would affect the lifespan of S7.
It seems that from purely chips perspective, everything is peachy for OP even at as high as 73C (as far as error rates are concerned).
I try to maintain less than 60C, but some folks swear for mid 60ies as a better range.
It would be very difficult fact to establish. On the other hand, SPT was fine at up to 115C (direct chip temp, though).
i would hate to miss out on a potential +5-10 % of the hashing IF it does not affect the lifespan, but it is a big IF, of course.
On the other hand, why would Bitmain optimized fans (I am talking about auto) for 45-55C when they could have run them at 65C if it is all good at those temperatures?

He said he needed the miner to be quiet despite the heat.

Guess keeping it around is less important.

I was the one that had 3 machines burn out on me when the Internet company came out to replace the router.  These were b1 and b3, all of which were the 10/23 Firmware.  I sent them back along with the 3 controller boards that were also bad.  The only problem is that they only returned 7 of the 9 hashboards and I have contacted them several times without response.  They said they sent them....I know they are not in the box.  No response in over a week.

You are not alone. I'm still looking forward that Bitmain  return me 2x S5+ repaired  blade.

From 27 x S5+ board i have total full set of boards   only 4 days.
At least 2 x S5+ boards is always in  repairs or a journey to China and back...
And the S5 + was 2300 USD miner.

Does anyone have a $150 off coupon for a s7 batch 8? I'd like to upgrade from my s5.

I'm home again and have tested my batch 8 with my "3  lower end server psu's" DPS-600s:

4110Ghs 600Mhz 1140W
4150Ghs 625Mhz 1200W
4398Ghs 650Mhz 1245W
4490Ghs 675Mhz 1285W
4700Ghs 700Mhz 1335W

Chips seem to like about 60c temp, I get less errors as reported by others. I have fans at 45% inlet fan at 3960, outlet 3720, I took some static fins away from exhaust fan. When I unboxed miner and left it to work for weekend speed was 4500Ghs with stock fan speed of 4600. Efficiency about 0.28 I get Bitmain powers next week and test again.

Mine for a Bit
just ordered a b8. want to check if the miner would stop hashing when disconnected to the internet like the s5

stopping would be just fine-the problem was with burning itself while being powered without internet.
b1-5 still had the bug, not sure about 6-8.
the simple solution-set up manual fan at 70%-several people described that no burn occurred in such cases.
At least one person described "internet loss" burn while on auto and 10/23 firmware (don't know about November or Dec ones).
the burn would not occur if you lost internet for a minute-when it occurred, internet loss was for several hours while power was still ON.

Mine for a Bit
I'm trying to order an S7 and the PSU but I get this error:
"Can not buy different currency once"
I have Bitcoin selected.
Anyone know a fix for this?
You have to order the PSU and the miner separately. This is a bug on the bitmain website that is there for some time already.

Here is some Overvolting - overclocking of my S7 Batch 1 with DPS-2000BB and J4bberwock breakout board.
Getting ~ 5660Gh/s, Voltage is 12.75 V under full load.
Power consumption at the wall is 1590Watt => 0.28J/Gh efficiency
I know it runs hot, but I need the silence.

Holy Smoking HOT!  That is really pushing it.  Keep us informed if you have any issues.  You are getting COIN right now and I hope that you can continue to get COIN later!

Yes very nice, that's more like the sort of Overclock that we should be seeing.  Smiley

Technically according to the BM1385 Data Sheet with 12.8V you should be able to run 775MHz giving 6278GH/s  Grin Although I would want the fans running flat out for that...

Rich

This Miner's Fans must be turned down to about 35%.  With these temps, the fans should automatically speed up.

hello, I researched a little about this miner, but it was a question if he had more than one miner hash would be added.
eg:
          4.86 x 3 = 14:58 this correct?

I just noticed, he has five (5) pools in the miner status.  I didn't know we could have more than 3.  Is that with the new firmware or what?

Oopsy, I missed that one.  Thanks Tupsu.

It's well within the spec of the chip, so it's all just down to cooling. Trouble is you only know the temperature in the middle of the board. So my concern would be what the actual temperatures of some of the chips that are getting less cooling are going to? With the "Right" cooling it should be ok... but there would be a much less margin for error.

Rich

Well said, but I'm just the type to baby my equipment because I personally feel the S7 will be able to mine profitable for possibly as much as 2 years.  Especially, if you live in low power cost areas with 3 cents or less per kWH.  I believe there will come a time the heat will take it's toll on the boards and you will slowly lose one chip after another if not properly cooled.  That's my opinion of course.  I hope you will be able to prove me wrong but only TIME will tell.

LOL, agreed...

Might have to have a mechanism to provide a steady mist of hydrogen while he's at it in order to keep them below 80C.  LOL

Only kidding around...

Beside the chips heating up. Do you think there's any tear on the circuits itself that would make the unit wear off too quick?

Because at this level of gain, i'd just build it an enclosure with an air circuit that goes strait outside with sonopan and bam. Run the fan full speed with no noise.

I know what sonopan is but what is "bam?"
