S7 Batch 8 report...

I expected it to probably max at 4.7TH but this one touches 5TH frequently

How is this possible?

Running stock firmware at 700mhz

I am using 55% Fan speed because of the whooo... whooo... whooo sound, but this will run it hotter, a bit on high side, almost up to +10%C more than older 600mhz@S7s

I dont know if you see it, but the avarage speed on the attached image says 4.7TH

Does it have a DC/DC buck converter on it?

Just found a Hosting Company to take a few S7s and run them for me.  Has anyone heard of or conducted business with:  ASICSPACE in Wenatchee, WA 98801 USA?  http://www.asicspace.com/

Let me know if you know anything.  Thanks!

Might check out https://hashplex.com but I'm a little biased.

Anyone using the bitmain 1600watt psu? I need to pick up some more power supplies for my s7's and considering some of these. What type of plug wire does it come with?

This might help:

I'd go with one of the Canadian companies for the best rates. Anyway, here's a list of hosting companies:

Not sure what you're asking. This page: https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201505040743496917U7kGsCm0694 pretty much explains it all, and has photos of all the PSU connectors. The AC input is IEC320-C13 (no cable is included; you have to provide your own); the 12V output is 12 PCI-E 6-pin cables.

fuck i have ordert my s7 and now take a look to the diff and the network hashing speed  Huh

Bitcoin Difficulty:   79,102,380,900
Estimated Next Difficulty:   92,875,607,752 (+17.41%)
Adjust time:   After 1336 Blocks, About 8.0 days
Hashrate(?):   726,154,086 GH/s

New Miner on the road or everyone restart the old miner on the high BTC value?

Combination of both in my opinion, but as long as the BTC price stays at this point, or increasing, the profitability of mining has gone up at a rate faster than the difficulty has increased.

But still 'normal' given the difficulty growth over the past couple of periods ... even if it settles down to 10% this time that's 56 PH added to the network in 12-13 days.

It seems like the most profitable time to mine was Jan - Sept of this year - price flat, difficulty flat, and mining equipment appreciated during that time frame. Those days are gone for now...

The most profitable time to mine was the very early early days or 2012/2013.  You guys have been chasing pennies since then.   All I can say is that I'm quite pleased I was buying BTC instead of miners the last year.

Should have clarified to mean in the ASIC era ... anyone that bought an S5 in January did pretty well considering their resale value.

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
BAck to topic at hand.  Batch 8.  It has arrived, it is plugged in.

REVIEW BATCH 8:
- I like the airplane turbine fans, now I can dry wood, or start an after-flooding disaster company which will dry your house
- manual set at 40%
- Setup is actually a bit of a pain in the ass, as you have to be patient 3-5 minutes for things to update.  soft reset 2-3 times, as one board didnt show up for some reason.
- 4450-4668ghs avg after 5 minutes.
- Fan speed 3360/3240, temps 46 to 49

I'm going to lower the fan speed, see if I can get hashrate up a bit.  So far a bit slower than advertised.  power supply evga g2 1600w on a dedicated 20A 120v circuit with 20A plug.

edit:  3000rpm, 50-53c temps, all is smooth, 4670avg.  so thats pretty much it.  error rate 0.015%  (hw, diffa, diffr)
editedit:  also firmware is from nov 17

Yes, The good old days of mining are long gone. The difficulty will settle down to +35% next week.
