Anybody had already an experience as to how S7 behaves at 0-10C? Better, worse?

As far as heating-last winter i had 2kw in miners pretty much throughout in ~2800 sq ft house and noticed approximately 50% reduction in nat gas bill during winter.
No heating so far this fall, but we were down only to 58F (14.5C) so far.
So, it does help somewhat.

my two are actually close to heating the entire 2000 square foot house

My 2-up 2-down terraced house in England is being kept sufficiently warm by just half of one S1 ( 0.2kW ) in addition to the cooking and things which I usually do.  Initial investment in a second hand S1 on ebay and two scrap ATX power supplies was not much at all.  It does not make much bitcoin, but as much as it does is byproduct of heating.

Yeah that's good. That's what I was hoping.. :-)
I saw the insulated one below it and was hoping you were not using that one.  Grin

If I were not going to heat the garage and basement with these I was thinking of doing the same..

2400 watts is about 9000 btu's of heat running 24/7

Didn't look like there was a liner from the pic.

Last thing I'd want is the unit to sit 'bare' on the insulation like that..

Just for the info. Something positive....

My batch 1

Ordered 31-08-2015 Payed within 15 minutes with btc 8.192 inc ship

Shipped 22-09-2015 Confirmed e mail.

In hand 25-09-2015 DHL Amsterdam

I have had it in a tube from day one to bare the sound. At auto fan it was around 60 db. At the moment it is running for 3 weeks at 30% at 50 db. I don't have a propper db meter so it was a phone app.

Happy mining,
Beffje

I'm guessing it's not in the tube with the fiberglass insulation .......  Shocked

it is in the tube with fiber glass   but the tube is :

1) liner inside
2) fiber glass
3) aluminum/mylar

he most likely has it in the center of the tube with a small hole for pcie's cables

if I were him I would use aluminum tape on the fiberglass  just to cut down 'dust-air pollution' from the fans hitting the fiberglass.

I have 2 in my garage using  two sets of  hvac tubes

I found I needed a way to get air into my garage yet keep out chipmunks and squirrels see the solution.

mine are not the same as above mine are made from aluminum I had two piece they fit perfectly

Hi Beffje,

Can you show us how you setup the tube - I am trying to reduce the sound from my S7s - the neighbors are complaining now :-(

Thanks
TMT

Use freq 575 and fan at 30%  It is 2,640 rpm  and the neighbors do not complain anymore

can you take a picture of controller board for me? maybe it can be different (my hash boards labeled 550 before but another sticker put on 575 after.

Not really. They are all in shelves and hashing. All miners are from Batch1 and 3 they had already worked for me with frequency 575 ,   However, they are all 4.86 THs miners from Bitmain.

But  controllers from batch1 and batch3 is almost the same.. labeled- Model S5/Bb V1.51 (batch1) or lastminers from batch3 labeled - Q.C. PASSED.

Six of these S7 controllers works for me with S5+ single cubes and one is a spare. I have 7x double S7 miners 9,7Th/s

It seems to me that Bitmain has had time to get things caught up...so I am wondering when the compensation for Batch 1 will start to get taken care of? The longer they wait the higher the BTC they own us is worth.  Shocked

everything is priced in USD... if bitmain owes any moneys, it will be the USD amount..   correct me if I am wrong..

Dear loyal customers,

We're sorry to inform you that we didn't make the shipment of some orders today as promised. When we did the last spot check, we found some issues which cannot be delivered to you directly, engineers are working on it now and shipment should be arranged before end of next week.

Due to this trouble, we'd like to offer you the compensation following 97.5%*PPS payment according to the total hash rate of miners in order, starting from Oct. 11 Hong Kong Time, till the real shipping out date(which is not included), with electricity cost deducted at the price of $0.098/KWH.

The accounting unit is Bitcoin in the calculating, while USD is considered as a foreign currency. The day to day exchange rate will be get from Bitstamp daily average.

The final payment will be after we have collected your payment address, and we will inform you the way to confirm your receiving address with us.

After collect all the necessary info, we'll process the refund by batches, please wait for update patiently.

Apologize again!

NICE!   I almost wish my batch was delayed a week and get a months worth of hashing out of the deal!

Has anyone received compensation for late shipment yet?

No any news on this? Its been awhile since B1 was finished shipping.

I agree, it's about time for compensation.  It's been nearly 30 days since they shipped my batch 1 units which were shipped 5 days after the 10 extra delay days.

Only 2 out of 3 units from my B1 orders were late.  I'm only owed 8 days total.  It would be good for BTM to provide further acknowledgement on the commitment - at least an update on progress would be good.  I agree with and appreciate philipma1957's stance.  Smiley  However, it is the follow through on the statement of compensation and commitment made to the BTM supporters that is important.

hi everyone,
finally my s7 4.66 came. i remove all and inspect everything. but chips has a bonding glue, i couldnt see any.
so there are 18series 3parallel chip on each hash board. 12/18=0,66V ok
i am working at 11,75V(0,65V each chip) 512Mhz %50fan speed > 4,1 Th at >1020W stable 60degreesC (room condition is 27dC)
but i upload new firmware, hashing stopped, beeper always beeps and 360W idle power, red led lit.
i solve beeper problem from config page, but still NO HASHING. then i checked hash boards my other S7 controller ALL FINE with stock firmware.
i do not recommend this new firmware because it has alotof buggy.(23-10-15) i think bitmain do that willful. we are test subjects.  Undecided
when i found a solution i share here.

did bitmain create any page in here for S7 problems like S4 support thread ? Roll Eyes
anyone has a packed old firmware image?
because everyone talk different threads in here and hard to find who is faced with same S7 problems.

I upgraded today 10 minutes ago 5 x S7 with 4.66 SD-S7-20151023-575M.tar.gz software and none of the miners' was "broken" or not hashing.

It would be cool if BITMAIN introduces higher th/s miners, with 10-20th/s power.

Double-S7 is 9,7TH/s , Is it not enough cool?
