Did you folks with 3.0 Kg orders also have Power supplies? There are reports that Bitmain will ship PSU's in advance of the miner itself.

I would think 3.0 Kg as being "light" for the miner.

My UPS tracking said 3.0 Kg for each of 9 boxes.  I ordered 9 x S7's with no PSU's.

I did order power supply as well, but I already received them.
They were marked as 2.00 Kg.
Bitmain says the S7 should be 4.5kg.

From Bitmain's site:

Be careful if they are paying less weight then it actually is.    They did this on 3 of my PSU's.  I ended up with a bill for them shipping at lower weight then actual.  I paid like 12 bucks for all together for 3 psu's.  So was not horrible.  I would hope they have fixed this tough.

But if you get it lower then actual look at your letters in mail. I almost threw my bill away as trash until I saw it truly was the shipping company sending me a letter. I assumed it was junk mail.

What do you mean exactly?
You mine $3000 per month and pay the data center $1000? Like that?

I was just curious who would have control over BTC wallet, seems you would have control over both pool and wallet.
They just want their monthly payment or they can lock me out of the data center.
It is 2 miles away from my house. So the remote hands are mine.

I have checked with 5 different data centers for 20 miners and the cheapest quote was $5k.  I do not see how that is profitable.

Are you talking about electricity? Seems kinda high if so.  Your talking around 23.2 K watts  At 10 cents like 1.6k USD or so depending.

Are you talking about older bitmain miners and actually getting a miner for that 5k?

Mine has changed to "Unshipped" also...I guess it's to fix that little snafu.  I am concerned about hearing that 9/8 orders are being shipped and my 9/6 order is still silent.

Which shipper is yours coming?

These are slated for UPS...but they are going directly to Toomim Bros for hosting so I can't look for items being shipped to my address under MyUPS.

I stand corrected; they were SUPPOSED to be shipped directly to Toomim.  I just found all 4 packages scheduled to be shipped directly to me by the 19th.  My order/confirm date was 2015-09-06 22:25:04.  Now I know.

can't you redirect them?

Hopefully I can.  I have many options now that I'm not completly in the dark.

Okay, I tried to redirect the 4 packages to Toomim Bros located in Washington State and the UPS says "The address is not in close proximity with the original address."  Of course, I'm in Virginia which is on the east coast and Washington is on the west coast so that is about as far in proximity as you can get.

So, my 4 S7s will travel from China up through Alaska, down through Washington and east across the continental USA to Virginia.  Then I have to turn around and send them west across the continental USA back to Washington where the Toomim Bros data center is.  I must have done something wrong when I put Toomim's address on this order.  But hey, it will arrive 43 days after I placed the order and at some point in this process I almost gave up hope that I would ever see anything.  I feel relieved!

Dude I'm in virginia too.
Maybe I could hook you up at my datacenter. You already have stuff at toomim?

How much do you pay per kWh at your data center? I am guessing even with my 7.65 kW solar system Edison's Tier 4 rate of $.31 will kill any hope of ROI if I run these in my garage.
A full rack of s7's (12) you pay them about one third of your mining profits all inclusive.

Data center only lets you use 21 amps of 208v circuit. You can run three s7's on a circuit plus an s5.
one s7 is 6 amps at 208 volts.

That's very good price power usage wise. I will keep that in mind for my next purchase, out of extra cash right now for paying for solar system in cash to afford 12 S7s. One question though, how would you split the earnings?

That's about right weight for the miner, I sold my early B1 miner and remember shipping weight to be a little over 6 lbs.

Good luck with that MikeMike.  But they have tightened up warranty to where they say something they really do mean it.

If you look at the list of things that break warranty now you pretty can do nothing to machine except turn on and run to spec.   Anything else now takes permission.

Out of curiosity did you really wait a year to get the 4 BTC back?  What happened to realize one year later you were owed BTC?

I had my Mother die a terrible death caused by negligence at a hospital and had to move my business at the same time
as her burial arrangements.
She was on the other side of the Continent and was traveling back and forth through her illness and death
and then the legal matters and arranging her burial.
If you have not gone through caring for Elderly Parents till their death one after another then being executor for an estate
with no will, dealing with 5 siblings sorting all that out, closing out a 3 story house
with their accumulated belongings, you have no clue.
You lose years of your life as they come first.
The parts were returned and expected the return of my BTC into wallets I have not checked on for all this time
as I had more important things going on in my life.

What you mention does not apply in my situation.
Each time I had a box of parts to receive they kept requiring me to add to the amount of BTC they held
and sometimes because the box being sent back to them were in transit I suspect.

So you see the majority of the BTC should have been returned to me
and that was negligence on their part.

For them to keep ALL the BTC for the few separate transactions of returns is uncalled for and theft.
Nor is it the way you treat a Loyal Customer that gave them 329+BTC in business and is still
considering to conduct further substantial business with them.

Now I am not saying it is theft at this present time. The end result will be their decision
and I have seen it many times in my life, things go "full circle".
Their current policy has nothing to do with what happened then and should not be used as
a scape goat. Even IF we never sent those last box of parts back it is no reason to keep
all the BTC for each of the RMA arrangements made. At most they were late and from good reason.
Bitmain was made aware I was going through extenuating circumstances at that time.
Not only that but it was a suggestion by us to give our customers great service and
the end result was it made Bitmain look awesome in customer service so we actually
went out on a limb to make them look good.

I am in PM talks with Mr. YHQIN at this time and they asked for the tracking number.
They should have this info since we used their shipping service UPS # they provided us for these returns.
However we will begin digging through boxes and checking direct with UPS for it.
I wish this matter to be resolved respectably and with Honor.

MM

You guys are huge and you are going to keep all that BTC over a late shipment back?

That strikes me as being unreasonable and unethical.

I've known Mike for some time now and he is as straight as they come.

It doesn't make good business sense to upset a loyal customer over what is a relatively small amount of money, I hope you do the right thing.

BTC is like the gold off digital money.  Not like gold.  Gold will forever retain a value and is a safer bet then BTC.  BTC is more risky and we really don't have a long history to compare it to.

Plus when the power goes out people can still trade gold.  All of bitcoin becomes worthless in some sort of event that kills power grids or the internet.

I will be very interested to see in a year from now how many people have ROI'd their S7s.  I suppose if you factor in resale prices, like you mentioned, that number of people will go up, but banking on a strong resale market for used hardware is as much speculation as guessing prices or anything else.
