May I remind you of something called "HALVING" before going crazy on a purchasing spree?

That is a million years away.  By the time halving arrives, each and every S7 will have long been tossed in the bin.  Miner lifetime is far shorter than that.

Why would no one be running S7's when halving occurs next year?  I still got all my S3's hashing away. Just cannot bring myself to turn them off. I am still getting 2.7TH out of those old units.

Most old mining gear does not break even with electric cost so when the blocks half the amount the equipment earns will be cut in half. Will the equipment still run ...most likely but you will be better off to buy the coin instead of the electric.

July 2016 is 10 months or 300 days away.  Making this the perfect time to expand.  Since you should roi in 250 days with this gear.

Just to add the ROI flame discussion ... don't we had the same war with the S5 price ? And we can like pretty much sell them today for the same price we paid 8 months ago ?

I know as for today this isn't the same situation (Bitmain vs Spon price war)

No ones can see in the future ...

Just to be clear, "A million years away" is roughly July of NEXT year (i.e. 2016)! I didn't expect to make it to a million years of age....

I am not an electrician. Can somebody please tell me if I can run one of these on a standard outlet for an apartment in the USA? I would buy the power supply that bitmain sells.

Yes. It only uses around 12 amps I believe. Most U.S. circuits are at least 15 amps, and yours are probably 20 amps. As long as you don't have a bunch of other things plugged in on the same circuit you should be fine.

Normal circuits in US homes will be 15 amp breakers. Which can take peak power pulls of 1,800 watts (120v x 15amp = 1,800 watts).  However breakers are rated to hold a constant power draw of 80%, which is only continuous 1,440 watts. So you could run a S7 on your regular outlet, but i would highly advice not to have anything else plugged into that circuit. Remember, each circuit will usually have several plugs attached to it. So you might want to do some testing of plugs while turning off breakers to determine which plugs are connected to each breaker.

If you have a 20 amp breaker, It can peak at 2,400 watts (120v x 20amp = 2,400watts). Keep in mind that you should only continuously use 80% of that, which is 1,920 watts. Lets all make sure to practice safety when mining, we don't want any burnt down houses for a few bitcoins!!!!!

....(Many bought miners Zues miners at that thinking they would be profitable.. or even paid crazy price for titans). Be interesting to see if it gets the great pump or if investors hold back knowing they will lose half there investment with one dump.. Risky for sure..

Yes since you started back in september 2014 im sure it roi now.. Thanks most in part to the mega pump before halving.. Be curious to see your receipt as 14.6 btc was worth way more fiat then than now Smiley  What i was referring to was the titan selling on ebay recently for over 3k or more.. Those have no chance of roi unless like you having free power and hope it lasts another year

edit sept 2014 btc was 500 a pc.. so 7300 usd..  is now 32 btc  see what i mean:)

I was driving somewhere this morning, and had a thought of "Hey, I used to remember back in the early days, when Bitmain first released their S1's, they would make posts about how long it was estimated for their miners to ROI. I wonder why they stopped doing that..."

good point!

I am willing to sell them if you are interested.

maybe i can make an water cooled s7 with some backbreaking work  Grin

What is the roi with current difficulty for S7?
If difficulty somehow stayed the exact same we are looking at 268 days roi @ 10c/kwh and 50$ shipping, in all reality it though at minimum 3% dif increase per adjustment there is no roi.
I am going to have to agree on this one.. because by the next btc halving they are going to have to come with a new miner to keep things alive.. Thus forcing you to either dump the machine for next to nothing as most seen with ltc that you get burnt with the fake pump before halving.(Many bought miners Zues miners at that thinking they would be profitable.. or even paid crazy price for titans). Be interesting to see if it gets the great pump or if investors hold back knowing they will lose half there investment with one dump.. Risky for sure..

Well we did see a rise of over 100% in litecoin leading up to the halving that could have easily been the readjusting for price, it was steady around 1.30$ before July and rose and is currently steady right around 2.80 and keeps tipping on 3$, so maybe Bitcoin will go through a phase like this too but still the bitcoin you pay (8btc) will never earn 8 btc.

Or the doubling of efficiency drops the price by half. Hard to say for sure.. The reason i say this is youd would think it would be the opposite.. For whatever reason it seems to spook people the more machines that come online. Youd think that the miners would hold more since they have to pay less in power but it seems they just like to pocket the extra cash.. I admit myself i sell most of my btc  but i have always saved 10 % even tho since i started mining it has dropped 200%. I can imagine that if we see a rally around having that many that got burnt from mtgox days would cash out.. or those that paid 500 and up a pc

Edit not to mention that lketc is coming with new machines at first of year.. Gonna be a ride.. Maybe should invest in Orvil Redenbacher instead:D

What is the roi with current difficulty for S7?
Minimum 6 months at next projected diff. With 0 cost for electricity.  but these are still a month off from delivery at best case..

Here is another user post.. He most likely used current diff of 54 bill
My usual spreadsheet, people have said it's been useful in the past.

Price doesn't include shipping, import taxes if applicable or PSU's. Assumes static diff and BTC price, it's just to give a rough idea

Mining still dead in the UK at $0.23, and shipping to a host is probably going to be a year to breakeven when the inevitable diff rises happen so no new machines for me Sad

Anybody have any coupons they want to donate I have 1200 usd saved up for the s7 I am $700.00 usd short "SHIPPING" on the s7 I need about 7 coupons I am poor anything helps.

If there $100.00 dollar coupons.

That won't help, you can only use 1 coupon per machine.

Most of the time coupons only work when you want to purchase 1 order, even if you buy 10x of miners at once.
