Hi guys, I am just, spent 9hours of installing 10x vegas 64 sapphire limited edition. I am was able to install only 9gpus, because of the asrock mobo 110 pro btc. 9 gpus just boot fine, but when 10gpus was installed the mobo just stop working, no booting no sign of anything. I am check everything, even the swapping of risers, gpus, slots was without succes...
But anyway 9gpus are in w10 and they are mining. 1350W on wall, but only 1150h for card. Even I did not saw the compute option in wattman! How it is possible? What about igpu as primary display?

when you installed gpu number one  did you set it up and test mine to see what it did?

if not  you fucked up since you have no idea when  your shit numbers started?

and if they started on gpu number one   you should have asked then what was wrong.

So at this point I have no suggestions other then erase everything install just the first gpu and let us know what it mines.

BTW I am not sure if that is the better gpu model.

While I started this thread I have not purchased any amd cards in six months.

so  I am not the best person to ask.

Anyone got experience with 4+ vega on GA-970A-DS3P (/FX/rev2.*/) mobos? I already have ddr3 ram/fx cpu and those are the only not overpriced 5 pcie slot am3+ boards, but they had issues with 3+ gpu detection and hashrate drops on certain configs =\

Yes, turn off Crossfire.
Can crossfile be on with no monitor attached ?

Probably not, but the green light means the card is in standby mode. This usually happens when crossfire is on...there may be other reasons.

@MoneroCrusher: your best bet is to parse the web page from stak and issue the commands. It's perhaps easier with a small program than a batch.

The problem is that when stak-amd hangs you need an external device to shut down and power up the computer. A simple script won't suffice.
actually when a stak instances freezes I can close it without a problem, computer stays online

I also use Sapphire cards and yes stak-xmr uses more power than cast-xmr, I noticed also Smiley If you lower the speed of HBM it's useless.
I found why my rig was shutting down (I think), I changed the power plan, monitor -> turn off - never; HDD -> turn off - never, and so on... Without these setting many times after 30 - 60 min since I closed the connection thru teamviewer, my rig either was shutting down or froze. I see now it's working, hope this was the issue.
I've raised the voltages to 920mV and 930mV on the problematic card, both on the GPU and HBM. I had the always on settings already, but had overseen the linkstate power management on the pci-e bus.
Let's see how it goes. I'm up 30W from the wall (running at 720W for the whole rig of 4 vega56).

Can anyone help me with making a batch file that would make mining maintenance almost fully-automatic?
I want to "glue" together script #1:
Code:
cd %~dp0
timeout /t 3
devcon.exe disable "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F"
timeout /t 5
devcon.exe enable "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F"
timeout /t 3
OverdriveNTool.exe -p0Vega56-1 -p1Vega56-2 -p0Vega56-3 -p1Vega56-4 -p0Vega56-5 -p1Vega56-6 -p0Vega56-7 -p1Vega56-8
timeout /t 3
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd1.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd2.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd3.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd4.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd5.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd6.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd7.exe
start /d "" xmr-stak-amd8.exe
and script 2
Code:
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd1.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd2.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd3.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd4.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd5.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd6.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd7.exe
taskkill /F /IM xmr-stak-amd8.exe
start /d "" script1.bat
with the following "code":
Code:
if hashrate of xmr-stak-amd1.exe <1700
or
xmr-stak-amd2.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd3.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd4.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd5.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd6.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd7.exe<1700
or
xmr-stak-amd8.exe<1700
execute script 2 or embed script 2 lines in separate instance in here
else: keep it running in that loop

anyone good with batch?

I also had a lot of problems with stak-amd... I'm using 8xVega64 and after a while with stak-amd one card goes to 0h/s and then the whole rig just shuts down. I switched yesterday to cast-xmr, it seems more stable and until now I had no crash/shut down. I also noticed if I'm connecting with teamviewer or opening some applications like GPU-Z, the cards are starting to mine with a lower hash rate same like the HBCC was deactivated.
Exactly my issue. One card hangs then the rig follows shortly after.
I also see that any diagnosing utility must be started beforehand or it takes forever to launch and has a high probability of hanging the rig.
Castxmr seems less susceptible to this compared to stak-amd.

Like I said, lowering the speeds of HBM does not help. I go as low as 900 and still hangs. BTW, I'm using sapphire bios. Might be that it's not the same as other makes (gigabyte/msi etc).

One thing I noticed, is stakxmr uses a little more power per card (about 5W).

Running out of ideas to try.

But these Vega cards are sooooo expensive!  I will be sticking with the 1080ti's for the foreseeable future.  How long will it take to see ROI with the Vega's?
we don't care for ROI. We do it for the glory!

Using the blockchain drivers from Aug.23.
Registry undervolting. 905-905 gpu/hbm and 1408/1100 freq on gpu/hbm.

Reducing the memory speeds does nothing. Stak will hang again.

Now, anyone has stak-amd running well on similar hashrates or are you all using some other miner ?

How low are you bringing the memory speeds? 1100 seems high for a 56, and high to run XMR in general. I don't see much improvement over 950, and run mine at 920 getting about 1900h/s (edit - unflashed - I didnt see any benefit flashing to 64, either)
Flashing to 64 gives you 64 cores and 1100 memory speed. For me I cannot reach 1900 on stak-amd without flashing. Are you using stak-amd or something else ?
Are you undervolting ? What is your power usage?

Edit: do you mind posting your full config?

I am running 5rigs with 4xgigabyte vega56 cards. GPU 920mv, memory 910mv @ 1100 Mhz. 7700 hash ( 2016/1736 ). All rigs are 20+ days stable aka nonstop.

I get those speeds, but not stable. What puzzles me is that cast-xmr works fine.

Are those flashed to 64 ? How are you undervolting ? I guess you're using blockchain drivers.

All flashed to 64. Blockchain 23august drivers. Undervolt via OverdriveNTool.

Preliminary tests are no good. 1300H/S like the other gaming drivers. Blockchain is what we need Sad

There's a new AMD driver (17.40) released yesterday.

Supposedly it incorporates the fixes from the blockchain drivers and can do more than 4 cards per rig.

The AMD page is http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Pro-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Microsoft-Windows-10-Fall-Creators-Update-Release-Notes.aspx

Or just search for crimson 17.40.

I think that this driver is primary focused to workstations with fire pro and so on...
This is not what we are looking for.
Sorry, linked the wrong driver. The correct one is: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Windows-10-Fall-Creators-Update-Release-Notes.aspx

Installing on a test rig.
