I have one of the Vega cards showing a green led when initialized. It cannot be used for mining. Anyone knows what this green led is ? (it's on the right of the blue/red stripe of leds).

The card works normally when used alone. It's making this thing when used with others.

What do you mean cannot be used for mining? What's happening when you try multi card mining?

I mean the card cannot be used/initialized: it's there but blocks when accessed.

I fixed the problem. It was the card in the x16 slot of the mobo. The fix was to use Gen2 protocol and not Gen3. I think the problem is the driver. It would do this "green" led when the card was activated and there were other cards activated too. it started doing it after a hard reset (lockup).

Nevermind, we're all waiting for better drivers, until then life is what it is Smiley

I would not mind knowing what that green led means. It's normally off but seems to light up on issues.

I've seen this only when its powered, but not connected to the board.

Ledipaa, Your calculator is wrong. Two rx on eth in dual with dcr currently gives ~$90/month. While unstable working Vega 56 on monero ~85.

power used for 2 rx on eth with dcr  vs power used for 1x 56 mining monero

  I see claims with 140 watts for 2000 hash on vega's doing monero

I know 2x rx 470's 480's 570's or 580's will use more then 140 watts

so form factor a good board could do very well  with vega 56's

I have this board on order. comes on monday

seems really good to run 4 vega 56's with endless spacing for cooling

but right now I am almost all nvidia mostly because of a few more coin choices

interesting, where did you order that one and for which price? Could only find a chinese Page.

It is due today  if it is any good I am buying 10-15.

the sample was

120 = mobo
 50  = dhl
   8  = paypal fee

178 usd  china to new jersey usa

if I buy 15  I will be selling  some.

review will be here

Well let's hope miner optimization (looking at your claymore  Wink ) and either some bios changes or memory tweaks help...

I got 3 orders to go through today. Hopefully they all ship. A couple orders of my orders got cancelled due to the 1 per household limit.

Thankfully ebay prices are currently through the roof. If I get them in hand, I may dump them...

Hello!

I need a help with power table.

I set 850 mV for P0-P7 and 850 mV for P3 HBM memory.

But in GPU-Z Sensors - VDDC 1 V or more.

Why?

Because lowering voltages past a certain point in the power play table doesn't actually do anything. Use OverdriveNTool to apply the voltages. Also remember that memory voltage is actually core voltage floor, so make sure it's equal to or lower than your desired core voltage.
Mythic, do you mean we can change clock and voltage using OverdriveNTool, registry mod power play table is unnecessary?

very very interesting mobo, bit worried about the space left in each gpu (how to cool them enough? it's tighter than a topmodel's bra!) also where did you find that @$#@# devcon.exe i downloaded from small diy files to the entire visual studio and still nothing...
I get devcon.exe from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/devtest/devcon

I've installed visual studio 2017 days ago to build xmr-stak-amd, not Sure if visual studio is required for  devcon.exe.

Should have use gaming console parts in your computer like higher video its very compatible to all mining software especially these one to avoid any further delay and lagging. And try using UPS for backup purpose in case there is brown out occurring.

Guys, I'm still dropping to 1500 per card (two vega 64s with 16GB RAM) after 20-24 hours. Am forced to restart everything to get back to 1900 per card. Can anyone share their insights as to what I might be missing? I have the cards running on a rig I remote into, so no displays attached at all (not even to the onboard video). Maybe I need dummy HDMI dongles? Thanks for any help.

I had the same issue with hashrate going to 1700 and had to restart the miner. I noticed that was happening while i was running anything else than the miner that had to do with the gpu ( HWinfo, afterburner). What i did was to lower a bit the oc settings and i was just fine..
I have similer issue, 2 vega56 with stock bios and identical settings(use registry mod, 1350core@850mv, 935mem@850mv), the first card which is pluged into main PCIEx16 slot keeps 1850H/s, but the second card begins at 1850H/s and drops to 1600H/s after a few minutes run.
it isn't due to hige temp, both of the 2 cards are under 53C.
Windows 10 fall update, blockchine driver, xmr-stak-amd.

I guess that mobo is designed for blower type cooled graphic cards in mind...

Obviously thats not for living room use Cheesy Fans closer 100% and its sure cool, even loud as a jet Cheesy
You need to close it in a box and force fresh air between the cards with fans (rack style).

Seems like one has to put the power limit somewhat higher with the new drivers. Used to have it at -24 in wattman, but now i have to run it about -10 in order to get over 40mhs in eth.

The chinese board is actually quite interesting. If you see the few PCI E slots at the bottom, they are labelled 8 till 12, but the official specifications only list it as having 8 pci slots.
