Tldr; chips finished last week of Jan, packaged first week of Feb, soldered into units the week after then shipped ~mid Feb. <1 month to get through all pre orders.

One minor detail... they still don't know IF their chips WORK.... There is no mention of any chip-testing in that time-line.... Might have to be amended early Feb....

Good point. No tests have been mentioned. So um...are we back in the timeline of like September of last year?

No tests? wow...yeah that will be a smooth process over the next 30 days.

It was approximately 0%. There was a small remark about better power consumption but I think that was aimed at Avalon.

He won't actually answer the questions being asked.

People have asked (myself included) when the re spins occurred and when each batch was scheduled and finally tested.

It would really frame what the issues actually were and what each delay was actually about and what they knew...when they knew it.

What do you say in moments like that? I really don't know what one could possible say. It is a bad situation no matter how much you type or say.

There is no update other than we are shipping in the next week or two. Here are pix of the chips that we received and will update you everyday on the progress of the assembly of the units.

That would be the only update that would likely shut me up because I would then wait until the "assembly" process was done and followed the updates closely enough to know that in fact they are not lying about receiving the chips.

But we all know that is not the case with how long Josh is taking to write the update and answer ALL of the questions that people have, when there really is only one question "when are you shipping?".

Either this round of chips will work and they'll begin shipping a week or two after receiving them, or a respin will be needed, and they won't get the next iteration until well after CNY.

Or there is some issue at the fab and the current round of chips is delayed.

Honestly, I almost feel sorry for BFL.

I just wish Avalon would say something positive at the same time they (BFL) releases bad news.

This is the problem that Josh doesn't see. The fact that the update has to be so complex and in-depth is a HUGE sign that they are either not going to deliver for a very long time and knew this in advance or they are scrambling because they got scammed by say the FAB etc.
