Ahead of the first  launch I had disabled API proxy in config file to be sure I am always on main chain.

Can anyone help here? I cant get my wallet to log in.

I get "Cannot connect to /nxt-proxy No openAPI peers found"

Anyone else having this issue?

Install the full node client....The light version does not work well and you will always get the reported message.
You can also connect directly to a full node with an open API from your browser if you are having trouble with the light client.  Just go to http://node-address:27876/

Thank you for this and the further information. I´ve read the article and checked out if everything is ok. I downloaded the 2.0.10 version at the day of it´s release. Now I´m on block 6499 with a base target of 0560% on the last block. This is the main chain, if I got it right. Isn´t it?

Gotta say what bugs me about Ardor is that there is no way to set up a 2FA for the wallet. That sucks, in particular if you have a lot of coins like that unfortunate fella. In Crypto, you cannot be neurotic enough, and even then you could fall into a trap

There is account control straight in the core: http://nxtwiki.org/wiki/Account_Control

Thanks for pointing this out, I was not aware of this feature and will gladly take a look at it  Smiley

Ardor trade is yet frozen on bittrex stating "Market Offline - ARDR snapshot".
I guess bittrex team isn't yet satisfied with present state of new coins.

It clearly indicates 'no swap has been done yet'. In simple words new Ardor coins not available to us yet ( they announced earlier 'on Jan 1 new ARDOR will be distributed to existing owners of ARDOR'). I see bittrex might be testing it to make sure nothing goes wrong after swap, wallet securely gets live, coins can be available for trade, withdrawals & deposits.

This delay is 'clearly understood' & hope all technical issues will be fixed soon, we will receive coins in safe state.
Issues in newly built/upgraded blockchain are natural & can take few days in in testing/fixing any loopholes. so no panic & wait for right time. Sometimes such processes take weeks / maybe months and yes! I was already prepared.

Am I right to see Ardor as a competitor to Ark? They are both kind of third generation blockchains, so instead of ICOs issueing coins on ERC20, I think some projects that require high tps or infrastructure will start to look at these BaaS platforms instead.
Competitors ... maybe in some fields. But they seem to be very different.

Ark seems to develop tools for atomic swaps (via the "SmartBridge") between independent blockchains - each blockchain needs their own security system. In contrast, the Ardor child chains are secured by the Ardor nodes.

Ark as a currency is not really necessary for what they want to achieve, because blockchains can also be connected directly without an intermediary. In contrast, Ardor, as the platform that brings security to the child chains, provides a necessary service.

I would say that the crypto experiment has failed.  Not because my coins were stolen with a simple key logger, but because there is no honor in the crypto space.  The internet seems to bring out the best and worst in people.  Money or the idea of money brings out the worst in people.   The idea of decentralization would be admirable if it were accompanied by honorable users.  Money and honor can not co-exist apparently.  So what do you end up with?  A club of users hoarding coins, thinking those coins are worth something simply because a small minority of users are willing to trade a small minority of the coins for an inflated value.  The truth is that if everyone decided not to trade then we would see the real value of these coins which is ZERO.  The only thing required to give the coin value is some sucker to trade his coins for value and now all of the sudden the entire network suddenly has value.   I'm not trying to spread FUD about crypto.  Crypto is not the problem.  People are the problem. As long as people are willing to act dishonorably then Crypto will fail.  ARDR is a good coin but at the end of the day it is just a computer software program that took a year or two to code.  It is not worth a billion dollars.  Maybe it is some coder's pet project, their baby.  That is admirable. The talent is admirable. But if users put that kind of price tag on a software network of thieves then they deserve to get scammed IMHO.  So what?  My 113,000 coins had perceived value.  Not to me.  I know their true worth.  Zero, because I choose zero.

Word to the wise.  If you want to be rich, then read a book, or go outside and go hiking.  Get away from the computer.  Wealth is in the mind.   Kiss  Kiss Kiss

Good-bye!!!

The world is cruel and I would say if someone  is a  lamer in security  then crypto is not his space and it is better for him to go hiking indeed.

The World's First Blockchain GPS App Is Coming Soon

https://coinerz.com/

Coinerz is excited to announce that their gamified GPS app is shortly entering the alpha testing phase.

Triffic has been created in-house over the past eighteen months and is set to compete with the likes of Google Maps, Waze and Tomtom for a slice of the navigation market. The difference is that Triffic uses blockchain technology to reward users with loyalty points which can be redeemed for amazing offers.

"Triffic is one of the first apps that uses the blockchain for something other than cryptocurrency." says James Malach, the Coinerz CEO. "We are using the Ardor platform and its unique child chain technology to provide a decentralised ledger of Triffic Miles - our equivalent of Air Miles."

The app also provides an easy way for local businesses to promote their services to a truly local audience.

"Business owners can create vouchers via the app which are then sent to the phones of Triffic users whenever they enter the vicinity." says James "Whilst traditional banner advertising is excellent for brand awareness or online purchasing, it doesn't work as well for small establishments like coffee shops and restaurants. People don't tend to sit at their desks, see an advert for a coffee shop and think 'I'll stop what I'm doing and go for a latte.' However, people are much more likely to make a spur of the moment decision if they are already within the footfall of a business and they receive a voucher."

Triffic uses data from Open Streetmaps and, unlike the market leading Google Maps, will even work offline in remote areas without an internet connection.

Stay tuned for more information.
