Yes, Most of the legitimate projects are being privately funded. Its better to stay-away from ICO, I participated in a ICO and it turns out that its being managed by greedy corporate crooks.
Not all because there are good ICO also that are working now and made some public investors gain. I have known a good project like the CHT to which even in the bear market it still grow up to this present. The process is very simple. They have a group of professional traders work for them and made the work using the public funds doing trading. Now the value of the coin continue to grow with the team professionally manage the project.

Not ICOs are not really dead. But its numbers are declining as compared to the past. Due to regulatory measures, ICOs are declining in number.
I am pretty much sure that unlike in the past, the market is becoming stable and more competitive. So only the projects with much to deliver can sustain.
More of the existing coins will disappear by the year of 2025.
There are already more reliable methods of investing in new projects, ICO is already associated with fraud for all people, and IEO, for example, is gaining momentum and attracting many investors, because it is created so that it gives people confidence that the project will not die as another dummy

but if later all new projects use the IEO, it will be the same as ICO in the end. so it's only a matter of time, until that happens. I think IEO and ICO are the same.

After participating in several ICO project, which turned out to be scam projects. My hard earned money disappeared in to thin air, with no way to trace or recover my money back. I had to act like it never happened to get it off my mind and move on.

Are ICOs really dead and do you still invest in ICO projects?

As for this very moment, ICO investments are hard to distinguish whether they are legit or not. However, lossing your money doesn't mean ICO is dead, it's just that you need to study more about the projects you are about to invest and dig deep on what could be the possible future of that project. In that way, you might be able to invest in a promising projects.

I do not think the ico will ever fall out until the crypto marketat increases because of the good it shows that many are fascinated to release a new ICO project. But if the market falls further then the ico loses due to the lack of appetite of investors to invest in it.
well when some ICOs become scams or fail, it does not reflect that the whole ICO has become a scam and is not good. as far as I can see, there are still so many ICOs that are worth supporting and fighting for. I myself have supported a project that is quite good and continues to grow this year.

There are still companies that conduct ICOs and many investors invest in these companies, but most of these companies cannot reach softcap or simply turn out to be a scam. Now is the time when cryptocurrency is experiencing bad times and there are many more scammers who want to steal money from investors.

The ICO will not die completely in the near future, but lately the ICO has got a fairly strong competitor in the form of an IEO from large exchanges.
The only reason why ICO will continue to exist is that the exchanges are trying to choose projects with a small Hard Cap for an IEO, so that it is easy to pump these projects and create profits for themselves and investors.
This competition makes investors no longer interested in ICO projects and this is the reason why all ICO projects die in the future. Most people are eager to earn the fastest and liquidity possible at any time and the IEO is offering investors all that so the IEO is being considered the current trend and If you can buy, you will become very rich

It cannot be denied that ICO is slowly shifting to IEO, and most of the project in IEO now are successful especially those who are using a Binance platform.
This is actually good for the community and slowly some other exchanges are also joining the party, like Bittrex for instance.

Are ICOs really dead and do you still invest in ICO projects?

It was bound to happen, sooner or later. We had a few successful ICOs in 2015 and 2016. Encouraged by that success, there were a number of good projects in 2017 and the interest from mainstream investors increased. But 2018 was a year of scams. For every genuine project, there was 20 fake ones. So naturally, the ICO sector was destined to die out.

I think ico will succeed if the project is really run and not used to look for big profits in a short time, unfortunately most ico are now only made to look for big profits and after the ico period finish they list their coin/token on just a few exchanger and then leave their project, hopefully in the future ico can be even better!

I think so, when devs. do not have a unique idea, it can be ascertained that when their ICO failed, and the number of failed ICO projects was the biggest factor in the red market until now.

Ico isn't dead, it's just that for the time being it's been declining for quite a long time, of course, all of them hope that everything will improve again in the near future but all of them need time and process, hopefully there will be an update for IOC so that in the future it will develop better
