BTC is not altcoin.

ETH is probably the most well known altcoin and has potential to be better and better in the future. ICONOMI also has a potential considering right now the price is up to 70k satoshi right now.

Yeah. Ethereum is one of the most strongest altcoins in the market, being second only to Bitcoin. It has risen in price from nearly $15 to $230 in just a few months and I believe that it will continue to rise and become stronger than ever.

With this in mind, you could consider to invest into ETH for the long term and hold your balance until the right moment to sell and obtain profit. Also, Iconomi has been doing great in price, as well as other altcoins within the top 10 market cap ratings.

Dash has risen exponentially in price too from $12 to nearly $120 nowadays. It is also one of the most prominent cryptocurrencies worth investing into to preserve your profits in the future.

Nevertheless, the above cryptocurrencies are great to baghold just in case there's a massive price increase over the next months. You can also be on the hunt for new altcoins that might eventually become valuable in the long term. Just sharing my thoughts.  Grin

I am also holding lots of coins like Monero, Stratis, Ripple, Ethereum Classic and NXT. I am starting a new strategy like setting a target price then take my capital back but continue hodling the gains.

I totally agree .. The simplest and hardest is to buy and especially to have a lot of patience ... and this is the hardest .. Cool

But before that, you have to invest smartly on cheap altcoins, and promising!

And after waiting, and sell some of the altcoins to do the same again with new altcoins ..

And history repeats itself! Wink

Yeah. If you just repeat the process of buying low and selling high, especially in the highly volatile markets for altcoins, you'll earn a decent amount of profit.

Sometimes alts take a little longer than expected to gain traction on the markets, but with good dedication and perseverance you can do almost anything. Usually, I like to baghold altcoins which have very low market cap, yet have enough daily trading volume. They are more susceptible to volatile price movements giving you the advantage to buy low and sell high.

Nevertheless, if you spend your BTC wisely on good and promising altcoins, you'll be able to double or triple your investment in the long term. Just my thoughts.  Grin

My philosophy (and I guess I'm not the only one) is that you can only really profit in this market if you're an holder.

The less movements you make, the more you profit

Yeah. If you hold on tight to the most prominent cryptocurrencies on the market, you could surely profit as prices start to rise following Bitcoin's market movement. I, myself have held onto many altcoins which were never thought that they would rise in value. It is today, and I've already tripled my initial investments by selling most of the altcoins I've held into my wallets for the long term, and will continue to buy more.

Nevertheless, while you're bagholding altcoins, it is always good to look out for newly released coins and take advantage of it by buying them now and selling them later when it gains enough traction on the markets. Just my thoughts.  Grin

A few corrections in the last weeks:

STR sold
LBC sold
SJCX sold

Bought some more XRP.
Bought some more SC.
Bought some BLOCK
Bought some XVG

So in my bag are finally:

Ripple (XRP), Ether (ETH), Lisk (LSK), Next (NXT), Ardor (ARDR), Nem (XEM), Siacoin (SC), Blocknet (BLOCK) and Verge (XVG).

And now:
To the moon with that coins, please...

Not bad, mate. The list of coins you're holding are one of the most prominent ones on the market. Especially Ethereum which turned out to become worth from around $14 last year to $200 in just a few months. It has increased exponentially in value within a short time, making it a profitable journey for those who have invested into it earlier.

It's a good idea to quickly sell the coins you've mentioned, when they rise in value to secure your profits. As altcoins are not ideal for long term investment, they serve their purpose well for quick trades and speculation.

As for me, I'm trying to get rid of some old coins I've been bagholding and looking for new cryptocurrencies on the scene to put my money into. The new ones would be held within a short period of time until they rise in price exponentially for me to secure my profits.  Smiley

- Zen / Zclassic: Two very good projects
- Cloakcoin: a great future, with a good team and innovative anonymous technology

I have realized that day trading alts sucks. At least for me.. It is best to hold for medium term, say 3 to 6 months and see the gains for yourself. I recommend looking at Singular DTV (SNGLS), vdice (VSL) and TaaS. More updates are coming up soon and these tokens can rise in value.

Well, day trading takes a lot of effort and patience to help get the desired results. Not always you will earn profit from doing this, but when it works you can use the strategies learned to your own advantage.

I will take your advice for holding some altcoins in the medium term and see how it goes. The tokens you've mentioned have great potential towards becoming something huge in the cryptocurrency world. I'm mostly inclined towards TaaS, as it gives an ideal model of a decentralized organization, where shareholders (or token holders) benefit from holding the token. It may become profitable if it turns out to become successful.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward for more altcoins to baghold, especially those that are new into crypto land.  Smiley

A Trader & An Investor
Yes, i stopped day trading quite some time ago, and bought some Coins i thought will be good. Since then, i just leave them and hold until they will have some good rise in price.
I got:
Iconomi
Stratis
Darcrus
Ark
Edgeless
and a little bit of Lisk

Most of these coins have huge potential and could increase in price before you know it. That is why it is good to buy and hold them for the long term as you'll never know when a massive spike comes in, leaving you with a constant stream of profits.

As for me, I'm glad that I've bought in Stratis when it was cheap in its early days. All those months holding STRAT has left me with a good amount of profit nowadays.

Nevertheless, while there are many good alts out there which are worth holding, it is always best to limit your portfolio to a few coins as it will be much easier to handle. Just my opinion.  Smiley
