I have many altcoins bags which were abandoned by the developers and those are real bags. I have some good altcoins which are on rise and giving me good profit. I have at the moment Stratis,Iex,Darcrus,Waves,Block,Xst and some others. These all have huge potentials to become huge in future.

The most disappointing thing about altcoins, is when they get abandoned by its developer and community. Then, you would be left holding the bag since the altcoin(s) that you're holding would lack trading volume, and most of the times, lack of established markets for it. That is why, it is always best to look out for cryptocurrencies that have an active development team, a solid community, and innovation to prevent losing all your investments in the future.

I see Waves, Lisk, Stratis, Decred, and Dash as altcoins with huge potential. They will change the world of cryptocurrencies for the better. Just my opinion.  Smiley

Nice!!You are holding a lot of altcoins.
I just holding one altcoin and that is Expanse.
Expanse is really a great altcoin for me.

Yeah. Expanse is one of the best Ethereum clones out there, with many unique features. It has been able to remain intact when the ETH split occurred, surviving replay attacks. One the things that I really admire about EXP, is its development team and community.

In addition, it has features that are quite interesting such as the Expanse Bonds System. I believe that it is truly unique and shows that the cryptocurrency aims for innovation. Still, I wonder why it's undervalued, considering that both ETH and ETC have higher price and market cap, being the original codebase for Expanse.

Nevertheless, the list of altcoins which are worth investing and holding, is extensive, making it a troublesome way to set up a bunch of wallets for all your coin holdings. Only stay with a considerable number of altcoins invested, to avoid this hassle. Just sharing my thoughts.  Grin

NEM (XEM)  2,249,850 coins give or take.

No reason to sell.. it's going to hit 800 million in the next 2 weeks.   It will be a solid number 4 behind Ethereum and Ripple within a month.

Also kraken and poloniex are taking forever to do step 3, verify driver's license.. so until they stop dragging their feet I'm not going to start trading my stash. It took coinbase all of 2 minutes.  I'm brushing up on cryptos after a couple of years idle, getting my computer secured with malware scans and the like, locking down the browser, getting the 2 factor authentication backed up in my safe deposit box, adding some paper wallets to my lastpass, and getting ready to enjoy the evolution of cryptos and the newfound interest that is ongoing.

ETH - as i believe, that it is a future of blockchain in common.
XRP - just cheap now and there is a lot fuss with this "bank of N-country bought X mln$ XRP, Z-country bought XX mln$" etc...
ZEC - i prefer this crypto among those 3 with anonymous tech.
Actually i am scared to loose money, i am now almost doubled my investment. Dunno, wether to sell already or still wait.

Not a bad list of coins you're holding there, mate. Since they're among the top 10 cryptocurrencies in market cap, they will be supported in trading volume and activity for years to come. Many of these coins, have great development too which may help them survive in the long term.

Look at both ETH and ZEC, which have an established foundation and a dedicated development team to help them advance in security, usability, and innovation for years to come.

Still, while they are great coins, remember to never invest what you can't afford to lose, as cryptocurrencies are highly volatile.

You can also hold PoS coins, although most of the times, you would be left holding the bag when the dev abandons the coin. Just my thoughts.  Grin

I recently re-organized my portfolio. I try to spread the risk, but when I truly believe in a coin / dev team / idea, I am willing to spend some more. Currently, it looks like this:

- LKK Lykke (the mobile apps are very well done, the roadmap looks very promising https://trello.com/b/IV0PH2gs/lykke-roadmap and the team is engaged af, plus not on exchanges yet)
- DCT Decent (one of my earliest investments, cannot wait for the mainnet launch. Even though the team is not very well in marketing here at bitcointalk, their appearances and presentations on events are very promising)
- IOTA (strong community and use case, until now very undervalued, very excited what happens when it get on exchanges)
- TIME
- KMD
- INCNT
- MLN
- WAVES
- XEM
- EDG
- PART (sigh..)
- "The Token Fund"
- Some hack.ether investments I hope will pay off eventually (but possibly wont): Coindash DST, Artcoin ART and Etherisc RSC

There is no more badgeholding for me, I collect all sorts of coins and when the price rises slightly then I sell for BTC and then via debit card.
So I can spend and buy something for them, so I just watch how the price grows and falls and I have use of it

In crypto land, there are a variety of cryptocurrencies to choose from, since the inception of Bitcoin. Many of them provide innovative ways for us to transact in our daily lives.

Some have advanced features and higher transaction throughtput than Bitcoin, and others are just cloned from BTC's codebase.

While the majority of altcoins are pump and dump, there are very few of them which are worth holding.

That is to say, we sometimes end up holding the bag when an specific altcoin massively declines in price.

Nevertheless, I would like to know if you are a bagholder of altcoins, and which of them do you hold into your wallet?

As for me, I hold plenty of altcoins like Casinocoin, Virtacoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash, Ethereum, Ambercoin, LiteDoge, Tekcoin, Stratis, MonetaryUnit, Teslacoin, and many more (the list is extensive) Due to the many altcoins I hold for a pretty long time, I consider myself as a bagholder.

What about you?  Roll Eyes
I hold several coins for now but not plenty of them, its only few counts of altcoins. Because I don't have enough fund yet to buy
a huge amount of it. Maybe if I get luck to earn big profit in bitcoin I would buy for sure a huge of it altcoins.

Hi read through some good comments above. It does seem to make sense to hold onto the most popular one's and hope they go up in value over time. For me its all about spreading the risk, so the less well know coins do have a lot of potential but can be risky and as others have said they can become worthless fairly quickly. It's bitcoin, ethereum, zcash and litecoin for me at the moment.

Not a bad strategy for altcoins, mate. It is always advised to get out of them as soon as you reach profit, as most of these coins are full of hype, and will tend to decrease in value over time. I guess that only those that could provide strong development and support from their communities, would be worth holding, especially coins which are in the top 5 rankings in market cap.

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum have strong development teams, and solid communities, making them one of those cryptocurrencies worth holding into the long term. While many altcoins might fall over time, these mentioned cryptocurrencies might coexist in the future. Just my thoughts.  Grin

Yeah, I can considered myself as one of the bag holders of different altcoins which I think potentials coins. So some of it like bitcoin I hold it for long term basis and some are for a short period of time.
Dah, that's not a bag holding Roll Eyes. Bag-holders are traders who bought some altcoins at a price, couldn't sell them at a higher price, and crossing fingers (waiting with hope and wishing luck) that the price would pump so that they can sell with profits, which, in my opinion, is a very newbie mistake in trading – if you can't sell that coin after a day or two at a higher price than purchased, then you should sell it and minimize your losses.

On topic, I was a bag holder of some shitty unknown coins when I first started trading on YoShit, but now I got experience enough to know when to buy and when to sell.
I think that is a mistake that we all make at the beginning of our trading careers because at the time you don’t have the experience to cut your losses and move on to other coins.
