i don't hold any coin besides those that get pumped. if there is one thing that a newbie should learn in this crypto trading, its to dump whatever they are holding until such time they need to back  because its being pumped.  else just dumped the altcoin you hold and watch the market which coin is pumped.

Not a bag holder of any at the moment, but I do own some small amounts of a couple of altcoin.
But I do want to be a bag holder of at least 5 small alts, for the main reason OP stated of course.
Just evaluating my options at the moment though.

I prefer holding multiple tokens to focusing on one and wait it to pump, recently, Ether, Dash, and Monero generated huge profits for their bagholders, some new potential coins will do the same. I think Ether and Monero believers got big profit in short time compared with other type of investments. The crypto world is getting wider and there are good opportunities, currently, I hold ICN and Time.

Money often costs too much.
About masternode shares, I think there is a site called Masternode.me which allows you to buy shares of a masternode, and receive dividends out of it. The idea is great, but in my case, I would prefer to own a full masternode and receive full earnings.

The itchy part is about true ownership. How do you "secure" the ownership of a node partition? Falling for a ponzi lures around that corner, too. People selling shares of a node that does not even exist.

Similar to cloud mining. I once owned mining contracts on Poloniex. They had been free tradeable. Poloniex still exists. Those MNS1 (??) shares are gone, I sold before things went south. Payouts would have never ROI'ed anyways.

Money often costs too much.
I own about 5+ different tokens and for 4 of them, i'll wait a decent pump then exit. Only eth has backed up potential to moon.
That tragically sounds like someone who has given up on all BTC mooning promises. And ETH beeing still in an experimental state, besides BTC proven rock solid!

In crypto land, there are a variety of cryptocurrencies to choose from, since the inception of Bitcoin. Many of them provide innovative ways for us to transact in our daily lives.

Some have advanced features and higher transaction throughtput than Bitcoin, and others are just cloned from BTC's codebase.

While the majority of altcoins are pump and dump, there are very few of them which are worth holding.

That is to say, we sometimes end up holding the bag when an specific altcoin massively declines in price.

Nevertheless, I would like to know if you are a bagholder of altcoins, and which of them do you hold into your wallet?

As for me, I hold plenty of altcoins like Casinocoin, Virtacoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash, Ethereum, Ambercoin, LiteDoge, Tekcoin, Stratis, MonetaryUnit, Teslacoin, and many more (the list is extensive) Due to the many altcoins I hold for a pretty long time, I consider myself as a bagholder.

What about you?  Roll Eyes
Wow that is a long list, besides bitcoin the only other coin that I hold is Monero,  it is the only one I believe has potential, I know there are other great coins, but to me the potential of Monero is the greatest and that is why I hold some.

In terms of long term holding, I preferred NEM/XEM which I started buying and hold it last year without even looking at it's price while on the progress. They have a slow progress in terms of price but I see that this coin will shake the world of exchanges soon.

Recently the price gained for almost 200% - 400% after being downed for the range of 400-600 sats for about half a year. Really a good progress for those bagholders. But even with that rise, I just watched it since it's all about HODL. Cool

I don't holding so many coins would actually make any sort of sense as most of the coins you are holding have very less chance of an increase in price so it most likely after few months you will be in huge loss plus managing of so many coins is also another headache.
But currently I hold a few eth and monero. Btc is of course.

Yeah most of my holdings won't go anywhere for sure, but since I earned most of them via faucets, I've got nothing to lose. My real investments are into Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, Monero and Ethereum Classic. Perhaps, one day when some of the altcoins I hold, pumps in price, I would have the opportunity to make a substantial amount of profit, but until them I would just stick with the previously mentioned coins for the long term.

Glad to see that you're holding Monero too. Personally, I see it as a better anon coin than ZCash due to the fact that it enforces anonymity with its ring signatures. I hope that more darknet markets would accept XMR, to help increase traction in the exchanges, making it the most valuable anon coin around.  Roll Eyes

Sometimes I think that it should sell everything for BTC

Because just stand in my wallet and do not do anything with them.
I primarily mean of DOGE and BCN, have them a lot but do not have some value

DOGE and BCN are very cheap, and while having much of them gives you little to no value, they're quite fun for tipping and micropayments. Transaction speeds are way faster for Bitcoin, so these alts make it ideal for everyday payments. They could be of great use towards helping spread mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies. Just my thoughts.  Grin
I agree doge literally sends as fast as paypal but i basically think it is of no use as it just like a why should i make payments with dogecoin when there is no change in price at all. I remember i planned for buying an item for 100$ which was some 0.08 but i was tired so i decided to buy next day and the pirce increased overnight i guess i ended up buying at 0.067 or something. Just using dogecoin would be useless as it is irreversible and it is really risky

I'm holding just Monero and Ethereum and plan to long term.  As of now Ive made almost 5x my initial investment from just buying early and holding.  But I'm sure the prices will fall back down a bit, so who knows it just might be time to sell a bit of my stash.

Although this is the only ones I hold, there are many I'm interested in such as, Ripple, Bytecoin, Tether, Golem, Edgeless, Waves, Ardor, Augur, Factom, Lisk, Zcash, Potcoin, Nxt, MaidSafeCoin, and maybe a few others.  But I would maybe buy one or two out of that list, but most likely will just stick with what I got.

Personally I'm not a bagholder of any coin. But also IMO it's pretty risky anyway. You better diversify your investments and stick with multiple but smallers holdings in different coins.

Im not a bag holder that holds a lot of alts but i do have some coins which are stored on wallets not small enough though but still consider as decent. I have ETH,XMR, XAUR and some DOGE too but im not expecting too much on those alts thats why i decide to hold up as long as i can and sell off if i see the price is just fine for me to gain profits.

XAUR and Doge are no longer profitable coin.  It is waste of time and money on bagging that two coin.  Only ETH and XMR are the best to hold until the end.  They are the counterpart of bitcoin in my opinion

Yeah monero is the choice for money people as it's main focus is privacy and there are guys who believe that monero is the future of crypto ( of course after bitcoins ) I have in past collected some chunks of monero and even profited with them.

But right now the only coin that I am holding is Iconomi and that too I don't know what to do with, it is just like a mistake I invested with them.
Anyways monero is good yeah, any similar coin you can suggest mate which may rise significantly in coming days ?

In my opinion, Monero is one of the best privacy preserving cryptocurrencies on the market. It is one of the coins that should be ahead of DASH in marketcap, as its anonymity features are stronger than DASH. Not to mention, it has been adopted by some major darknet markets, making its potential to rise in price even higher.

Right now, thanks to XMR and Dash's recent uptrend in price, I have made quite some good profit, and seeing the latest interest into privacy preserving cryptocurrencies, people will invest more into these coins as they realize that Bitcoin is not completely anonymous.

Nevertheless, for coins that would be worth holding this year, those would be DASH, Monero, and Ethereum due to their constant uptrend in price. Just my opinion.  Grin

Some coins will never bounce back but there are some coins that sleep for a while and then...  Shocked

We list smaller coins at our site and will hopefully build a goldmine resource of coins.

Interested users could create some sort of masternode shares. Ganging up as a dozen, buy N~M masternodes and share the revenue according to investor's shares. I can foresee that coming.
(I have not foreseen cloudmining)
But how to engage the risks of a single entity in control of the group owned node running away with all funds?

About masternode shares, I think there is a site called Masternode.me which allows you to buy shares of a masternode, and receive dividends out of it. The idea is great, but in my case, I would prefer to own a full masternode and receive full earnings.

Dash has increased up to $100 in price, and I believe that it will continue to rise if it aims to deliver constant development and promising features. Right now, it has a block size of 2MB which is greater than Bitcoin's block size limit, allowing it to expand even further.

At the same turn in the crypto currency world. The other is ByteBall. I have hopes on both of them and may get good profit in future.  Smiley

Yes. It has been one of the cryptocurrencies that has been increasing in price ever since launch. I think that ByteBall is unique and has a lot of potential for growth. But its success will only depend on the usability it would have in the mainstream world, as well as being able to deliver innovation and constant development. I wish that GBYTE would've been cheaper, for me to buy in. It is becoming more expensive each day, making it harder to get at least 1 full ByteBall. Still, if it won't go lower than current prices, I will consider to buy portions of it until I reach 1 full coin.

I don't really have a passion of collecting various altcoins as I cannot just download all their wallets and I never trust in those online wallets. Though been that said, I have some altcoins with me right now like around 100 USD in worth overall which are distributed among Ethereum, dogecoins and a bit of litecoins. None other I seem to believe Sad
