Ever since I learnt MEW is not safe to use, I quit using it to access my wallet. I prefer to use imtoken or trust wallet than the compromised MEW.
I still use MEW, but today and yesterday I already had difficulties on the translation of coins from one purse on another. Can do it were problems in eth network, and maybe in MEW I definitely do not know.
In crypto, you are your own bank so it is advisable to be at alert all time because hackers are always looking for loopholes to steal your funds. Truth is, MEW is not that secured so why use a gateway that doesn't guarantee security of your funds? I stopped using MEW the last time there was a phishing on the site. Metamask and imtoken got my back for now.
Yes, this is the most widely used wallet and I am still using it to store all of my erc20 coins. Its still safe and provides a good amount of security. The founders has not abandoned it. it was just a rumor.

I have had zero problems using it for the whole year. Guess I will keep using it for a longer time, but now I am thinking about another safer option too.

No, I am not using MEW anymore, I was hacked twice in two different MEW wallets and my fund stolen. MEW is not safe, hackers easily drop a phishing link to MEW and use it to steal private key and get people's wallet compromised and coins stolen. I now use Imtoken and it's very safe cos it's an app not a web wallet and I don't need my private key all the to login rather it requires password.
From various sources, MyEtherWallet (MEW) are not under development and maintenance any more. Even its founders has confirmed that they are switching to develop a new platform called mycrypto and encourage everybody to move there property to there.
But IMO, MEW or mycrypto is just a gateway to access your real wallet in the blockchain, so, both of them are still fine event MEW is not maintained anymore, right?

ERC-20 is the service I use most often for my tokens and to keep Ethereum themselves. Of course it would be a mistake to say that I kept a very high amount of money, but I can easily say that I use it extensively and that I am satisfied with this service. I do not yet have a security problem on my own but I do not want to go through without telling some friends around me that I have minor problems. Although I have friends who are not satisfied with this service around the time, I think it is quite handy and reliable for transactions up to a certain amount.
I used to use Myetherwallet website but since I got phished, I stopped using it and started to use Metamask, it is safer and easier to transfer and receive Eth.
The problem with Metamask is that it does not support sending coins yet.

I seldom use it now I downloaded mycrypto desktop wallet and I prefer doing this an online wallet because of the to many hacking incident happening in an online wallet and I only used myetherwallet for airdrops that I think are profitable but never my main wallet to access my token
MEW is good wallet for storage your coin. But Trezor Hardware Wallet is best wallet for store coin campers to MEW. It's a hardware wallet. You can buy in the market and Trezor wallet install software your compute and safe store file of Trezor wallet.

Yes if you have the control of private key of your account you can access them from anywhere. I have used mew , mycrypto both are ok. But even if Mew is not there , there are hundreds of others erc 20 compitaible wallets . I currently use trust monile application as wallet , it is quiet good to me. MEW wallet is not an online wallet, it is rather a service that helps to access the wallet stored on your computer through the browser, but if you use the app metamask all pretty safe.

I still using that platform because until now i can't find another platform better than MEW and i think MEW is the safest platform to save our crypto assets but it just my opinion. I have been using mobile wallets for some time now and it cool. However, it might not be the best with regards to security.
I use MEV for a long time and I am grateful to developers for such a device. All ingenious is simple. Works autonomously and protects reliably.
in my opinion it is still safe as long as we do not carelessly enter a fake web
address for MyEtherWallet (MEW), and as good as we are always on for metamask
