Price on BTCT is about to eat through the wall at 1.5, with a little push from myself.  Seems like BTCT has previously set the prices for the whole market, so expect big movements in price soon.

(Disclaimer, since I noticed this, I dumped EVERYTHING into ASICMINER shares.)

Generally a bad move but IMO as well this is an exception.

It's better to sell unit at 20 BTC price (and still make profit) than let it just lay somewhere in warehouse. I know, this is not the case right now, but we are moving to it.

At 20 btc for a blade the demand would be high.  I would buy the btc to get one for that price .  I am more interested in the stock then the gear. I am going to sell off my gpu farm and use the money to buy am stock.

The 50 available blades were sold in less than 2 hours Tongue
130 blades 'pending' (It depends on Friedcat if the blades will be sold, and/or if the price will BTC49.99 then)

Looks to me like we oughta raise the price to 60 BTC Smiley

Or raise the quantity to more units... its not easy to find out the best performing price...

better to raise the price and NOT the quantity!! do you not know economics 101? so far AM is the only one hence has monopoly power .. so yes he should sell it at a price that market will bear not give it away for cheap

matt4054 is right... its the profit that comes out at the end. So selling some units for a big price will lead to high profit. But it might be that for a lower price you will sell 100% more units. If you not dropped the profit per unit by half you will have more money earned at the end. Thats why its hard to find the best price.
Of course Asicminer has another var to check... AM wants to mine themselfe and dont want to sell too much so that it hurts their own mining revenue.

or sell too little   asicminer does not want to hash above 30% ( your number to pick.  my guess is 30%)   of the network. right now they have to balance sales to miners,  AM hashrate and network hashrate.

No one needs to kill the goose. The golden eggs can be dolled out at a good rate of speed.

I have no complaints about  them selling gear.

I just have my own situation of a 10GH/s GPU farm that I can expand to 12GH/s   at a lower rate then adding usb sticks or springing for a blade.

If I wanted to go to  more then 12GH/s it would not make sense to buy usb sticks until I purchased 15 sticks or so.  So I am venting a bit.

Check economics 102 for the difference between revenue and profit margin :-)
You want to maximise the profits, and adjust your profit margin AND production volume accordingly.
In other words, optimise supply and demand.

so far AM is the only one hence has monopoly power .. so yes he should sell it at a price that market will bear not give it away for cheap

What about other ASIC manufacturers? AVALON? Even BFL started shipping (yes, they have one year backlog but anyway)

nice. is that dividend projection accurate? looks it. i'm just surprised. .014 next week predicted, and it's saturday.

It was close last week (within 3%, though there was a systematic error in the calculation that has now been fixed). The ramping up of the hash rate is having an affect on mining earnings.

We'll have to wait and see what Friedcat decides to do with the equipment sales.

I have been grappling with a model to work out what fair value is for the shares, but it's still kicking around in my head. One interesting thing about valuing securities in BTC is that there's no discounting of future earnings due to inflation back to today to worry about. But you still need some uncertainty factor in the value of future earnings. There's still so many imponderables that I haven't got much further with it, and it's not my field of expertise anyway.

Something close to 0.02 per share next week is certainly possible with the recent hardware sales.

It simply takes 90% of the mined coins for the previous 7 days and divides it by the number of shares. 90% is an estimate, and it doesn't include any equipment auctions or sales.

very interesting.
