Does anyone know the best way to get ahold of Caanan is? I'm wanting to buy a pallet of their miners but I noticed they don't have them in stock anymore on their website and was going to see when they planned on adding more again.

it could just be me but before I sell my miners I usually scrub everything down, repack it into the box and make sure everything is in there......

Hi goose1072,

Your request (#91230) has been closed by Jasmine.

I am holding off from ordering anymore since minerwarez is having issues with new 741's. I would be really pissed if I order and it came in the condition they been posting on here. You guys have paid ALOT for used or dusty miners, just my thought.

So there's update on running 2 741's with 1 PSU 2400W. Running like a charm with Voltage offset 0. Hashing 15 Th/s average.

I can second Phil's comment. Despite the recent setbacks, Canaan Creative is miles ahead of Bitmain when it comes to service. And miles ahead still in reliability.

Now if only they somehow make a better miner, we'll be golden.

if  they could  go to .10 or .11 a gh  if would be nice.

what I would like to see  is a miner clearly better  then  that.

say 0.08 a gh  but  I do not expect much improvement  from anyone this year.

I have to say thanks to  all this craziness  since August I finally setup a youTube  channel and have  some videos posted.

Phil,

I have used my meter to see the voltages coming out of the psu's and they are below the 12.53 which is a good thing, thanks for the heads up as always.

I also have them in a below 30c environment, trying to exhaust them out of the room they are currently in. Planning on using some duck to 10 inch flex to an exhaust fan. Hoping to keep the temps down in the room they are currently in.

Phil,

My voltage off set is 0 I have never played with it.

The displays on those power distribution boards are not accurate since the one next to it states 12.5, I have swapped then and they still read the same. The one with 12.6 has always read 12.6 no matter what psu I used. I think it's averaging up to 12.6 unlike the other that is averaging 12.5.

okay  you are  probably okay.  but close to the top end of power in.

grab a meter like this

https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-MSR-R500-Multimeters-Electronic-Multimeter/dp/B01N9QW620/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8

and measure  one empty jack  one each board.

if it is under 12.53 no worries

it is worth peace of mind to know what voltage is leaving from the psu's

Here is my set up:

I use 2 different power distribution boards on my PSU's:

I use two 750 watt psu's per miner with no issues:

so they send 12.6 volts  to the avalon 741's

what do you use for volts off set

-2,-1,0,+1

not to scare you , but 12.6 volts input maybe too high.  It is too high for the avalon 6's. I killed an avalon 6  with 12.5 - 12.6 volt input

Received mine today from Miner Warez. Took an unboxing video just in case I needed documentation.

Mine looks very much the same as philipma1957's video shows. Like jonlorusso mentioned, I also did not receive the information card and it was not sealed. I did get the two cables and converter as shown in philipma1957's video.

I did not notice any odd smells, however it does not smell like 'new' electronics. More neutral. Looking through the fan area is slightly dusty. More so from looking into it from the rear. Some of the capacitors and mounting brackets show an accumulation of dust/dirt. The silver fins (heat sinks?) look relatively clean. The outer shell is pretty much on par with the mentioned video. A few scratches and the label appears to be lifting a little around the corners.

This is my first purchase in the mining world. I was expecting it to be 'Brand New'. That is what I was paying for. This I would describe as 'used'. Possibly lightly used, but used all the same.

I also received the 1500 watt power supply kit from Parallelminer. These in comparison look 'new' and definitely have a 'new' electronics smell.

I will not be able to test the miner for a couple of days. Waiting on the rest of the Raspberry Pi parts to arrive, so I can make the controller.

I also paid with PayPal, so I'll see how the testing goes.

I almost forgot.

I ordered five 2400 watt delta psu s from parallel miners.

Eighty cables and breakout boards.

They cross wired one pcie cable.  Gear was almost cooked.

I caught it and no issues .

Check all your pcie cables from them to see if they were cross wired.

I received one unit from miner warez today as well. The box was obviously resealed, was also missing the information card and wrapping. Minor details.  I noticed some small amount of dust, caking on the interior and slight scuff marks on the casing. The label was also peeling just like in your video.

Given how hard it has been to get one of these, I'm not going to complain though I think it is misleading for them to call these "new".

Notice in phillipma1957's video that the two outer pieces of tape were already sliced.  Also the small piece of tape over the tab on the box flap goes over one of these outer, sliced, pieces of tape.  That's the same as with the units I received.  So clearly someone opened the box and resealed it, which I guess is what they told Steamtyme.

HOWEVER,did anyone else *smell* the machines they got from miner warez?  Mine stink.  The same musty smell of a computer that has been running without cleaning for too long.  Inspecting a package doesn't explain that, unless it is the smell of Beijing smog?  The inside of the cable bags doesn't smell.

The camera work in my video is terrible, I'll still upload it later, right now trying to figure out what to say to canaan/miner warez.

I sniffed the original fully new ------july 23 order
The replacement yesterday very little use  kind of neutral

I sniffed the august 6 order -----  fully new

all of the above from china

the one from minerwarz is not stinky running for weeks in a barn smell  .  do I think it ran a bit yeah  but not  much.

the photo of this one below are bad really  bad

I purchased my miner with paypal  I have time to do a paypal return.  Since my movie shows it was not new.
If it stops working I would return it.

Am I happy with canaan.io? I kind of I wish the service was better.  In my case they shipped me a complete  replacement for the unit that died in 48 days.  I got the replacement in under 5 days.  They let me keep the dead one  I suspect that  either 1 hash board died or the inside daughter board died.

that means  it has at worst 1 good hash board in it and 1 good daughter board
at best 2 good hash boards.

So for me they have been better then they have been for others.

But to see photos of dusty gear is sad.

Now compare to my s-9  it is preordered comes in DEC

while this avalon miner will have mined for more then 50 days

my other s-9 dead board awaits a reply to send it in since august.

so canaan.io is far far far far better then bitmain with service.

How long do you expect 741 will be for sale from now until new model will replace it? Competitors already running their miners at 9 Th/s and 14 Th/s.
