I just received 3 741s from MinerWarez this afternoon. The ones I received are definitely used and have some dust in the fans and on the wires (but no bugs from what I can see). They were not in the sealed plastic bags like the ones I received from Canaan in the past and the boxes weren't taped up on the ends either (one was partially open when the FedEx driver handed it to me). I'm off to test them out and hopefully they all work. But I agree that they shouldn't be marketed as "new" on their website.

If Minerwarez is really shipping used miners, then they should change their categories to "Used miners" and "More used miners" instead of "New miners" and "Used miners".   Grin

well  not to say  anyone is lying about what they got from them..

but the photos shown  were not good enough to be sure  of much of anything..

I own  721'w and 741's  and  that photo could be that of a 721.

I wanted more shots but the guy did not bother showing them.

does not mean he lied  he could just be really freaking pissed off and said fuck this shit.  I am never posting here again.

That's why I thought I'd check to see if you had received anything, I'm just curious to see what the shipments look like, I'm hoping to have mine by the end of the week.

Nice to hear your replacement is on the way, what was the experience in dealing with Canaan for replacement, if you don't mind me asking?

As long as money did not change hands, they're not obligated to do anything. If they took your money, and then didn't deliver product, then it would be a crime and you can take it to court and denounce their name forever. But you haven't paid them, so yea, you haven't bought anything yet, you just pressed some buttons on a computer.

You're simply wrong.  They made an offer to sell and we agreed to purchase.  A contract was entered into and breeched by the seller.  Court could be an option, but it wouldn't be worth the cost.  I suggest you go to eBay or Amazon and click BUY without paying a few hundred times, see if your account stays active.

Having said that, maybe they did everyone a favor.  Rewards are less than half of what they were on Aug 31, and all those pallet purchasers will drive them down further.  It's now possible a GPU investment may offer better returns. Or shorting Bitcoin.

In fact purchasing AMD or NVidia shares a year ago was likely more profitable that purchasing AMD or NVidia GPU's.

In some industries weeks or months of lead time on factory direct purchases is standard.  canaan clearly has/had problems with their logistics, though I don't recall any promises about fulfillment timeframes prior to ordering.

Yes, there was am implied fulfillment timeframe, it was supposed to be sooner than "Never, go elsewhere" Smiley

I agree. I get they have growing pains but leaving everyone in a lurch was not cool. They likely knew very well the day after their “sale” that they couldn’t deliver and should have notified everyone then. I currently have bitcoin and GPU miners and frankly the GPU miners are more profitable and I can buy all the components from local stores and amazon and get the shit the next day. I love bitcoin but am done dealing with these companies. Supposedly Samsung and other mainstream companies are working on developing 7nm miners to be available in 2018. These things if they ever make it to market will have double the output of the current offerings and will kill bitmain and Avalon. I can’t say I will be sad.

This is a meh. In the world of asic.

Not a full fail and certainly not a success .

If you purchased coins. They dropped.  So. You are now in the world of buy and hold.

Not the world of mining.

I would be angry but I would hold the coins.

The guys that got hurt are places that the USA seller won't ship to.

Anyone that the USA seller would ship to simply needed to check the website 2 times every day and the info was posted.

It you buy an asic get used to checking the websites over and over and over and over.

Got my "NEW" 741 miners from minerwarez.

Pretty freaking pissed, looks like they ran it in a barn for two years.  How the hell do you get bugs in it.

Hi there,

Just wondering were you able to take any more photos from around the unit?

Did you get anywhere talking with Minerwarez, or Canaan regarding your issue?

Did you pay for your orders? I haven't heard a single report of Canaan taking money from customers and not delivering.
I lost money when buying BTC.
And on the difference in the course, I waited for them to provide the BTC number.
Me too. I converted my money into bitcoins just for the payment and hold them for whole month...

So.....you guys jumped into mining, without realizing the reality of the industry. Then are now complaining because you bought bitcoin and the price went down.

Let me ask you something, and I think I am saying this for all the people that have been mining for a while.

Why Are You Mad?

Because some of us have been waiting for more than a month to tell us that they(canaan) will not fulfil our orders. And while we've been waiting, some other customers who ordered after us, have been redirected to the distributor and already received their miners. This is absolitely not fair!

nsx077's photos are concerning but show nothing.  I am going to make an unboxing video and (without revealing personal info attempt to) show invoices, support tickets, tracking numbers, and labels when I'm back home.

Let me ask you something, and I think I am saying this for all the people that have been mining for a while.

Why Are You Mad?

1. Did you sell your Bitcoins that you exchanged? If yes............then why? If no.......then you haven't lost anything
2. You realize that Mining is the process of exchanging your money NOW, into machines that consume electricty and give you Bitcoins in return right? They're not going to give you your return INSTANTLY, nor anytime soon depending on how many new people start mining.
3. This is a free market, Bitcoin mining is as free a market as you can get. There are no rules, no regulations, just mathematics. If you guys are mad because Canaan didn't take your money right away and now you're stuck with Bitcoin that lost its value and you're pissed/or sold it because you're scared. You're in the wrong god damn business.
Mining takes conviction, cheap electricity, a stable, high paying job and alot of "cold" money to successfully pull off.
4. If you wanna fire and forget, I suggest you go buy some GPUs and mine the altcoins, if you don't like it at anytime, there are people willing to buy your used GPU, or shit, you can use it to play games, make some videos, whatever. But if you're going to mine Bitcoin, then you better mentally prepare yourself for it. If Bitcoin prices go down, you will be barely breaking even on the machines (even with an S9 let alone avalons). No get rich quick scheme here, but you will be a contributor to the success of this new economy we're building. If that doesn't matter to you, I suggest hitting the casino.
Thank you for your story, but the problem is not this. The store must fulfill its obligations to customers. https://canaan.io/ did not do it.

You guys are kinda scaring me.  I'm new to mining and I just ordered 5 from the September 30th batch.  My friend ordered 10.  This was through minerwarez.com.  I did communicate back and forth a few times with support staff.  They did actually respond when I asked them to consolidate my order (I made 3 seperate orders) to save on shipping costs.  Support personnel said they would do that for me, but when I woke up this morning, my credit card had been charged 3 seperate times.  Ugh.  All my emails went through sales at minerwarez.com

Question for you guys: how long does it normally take for delivery from batch date?  Do you think I will have to wait 1 month from Sept 30th?

edit: i forgot to add that I had originally placed smaller orders directly on canaan's site for the August batch.  However, like you guys, I never heard anything until the emails last night from Steve at Canaan.  So, they completely ignored those orders.  It sounds like they are completely inundated.

You will receive an email with your tracking info, mine arrived 2 days later than expected but overall not to bad. From there it is up to fed ex.
I don't think there are any savings for bundling orders because they charge per piece and shop them as individual pieces.
I do hope in the future they get a few different size boxes to accommodate orders of more than 1 unit.

Seems like a lot of new folks showing since the btc bubble began, and many are expressing a similar sentiment when things don't go as planned.

I suppose that one good thing coming out of this is that the Distributor is now a USA based company.

This should make warranty claims much easier with the point of sale not being in China.
At least western rules will apply now and there will be someone who will have to take responsibility for equipment should it prove "not for purpose".

I know that the gear is sold with 3 months warranty, in the UK no one would get away with this, goods should be fit for purpose for at least 12 months.

Just hope minerwarez have thought this through.
