'The right to privacy matters'

kilo17 has not contacted me.

i may order from zoomhash on weds.

Zoomhash cancelled my order and bob called me to say he had to cancel it since they are out of stock til Friday afternoon.

Said to redo my order on Friday

Sounds like they're just buying from the major distributor, why don't you buy from them direct?

Because they take PayPal, converting my PayPal into coins would be costly and a PITA

yeah and if I use paypal I can pay it over 6 months zero interest

It looks to me like zoomhash and kilo17 had their orders delay and or poached .

WELL  I hope someone gets one .  I am tired of the games.  That the builders and merchants do to the buyers.

Something interesting to ordering if they give everyone the same quote it looks like 50 is the magic number: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12931603

Unit Cost:
For a group buy of moderate size they can do $1350/unit, raspberry pis included. We may get a small additional discount if we get a buttload of them (50+).

Shipping Cost:
If we get less than 50 units it will cost $50/unit (via UPS, ew),
If we get over 50 units they can ship via air freight. That's ~$20 a unit, and can get lower if we buy more. If we got 100 units (I know, it's a big ask), I've been told it goes down to $10 per unit.

Yeah but I don't control the unit I am locked into a Canada location.  I may get one from them.

But to be honest I want some from kilo17 even if I pay a bit more.  There is nothing like the sound of miners in the morning.

@ kilo17  are the units on schedule for this Fri ?

I'm not wanting one controlled there either particularly.  I just brought it up as I would hope they cut the price some on a medium order like this.  If they are charging 1500 + shipping on 25 units or so might want to try to renegotiate.

I may get one for review purposes very soon.

Then we will know the under volt down clock advantages that it should (no proof yet)   have over the s-7

I exchanged pms with kilo17 and he has his coming in  by weds.

That would be great if you do I would love to see how they do compared to S7 would be a good review.

mine are set to 45% on the modual3, but when it goes zombie or loses connection, the fans kicks into high speed, and its heard at the other end of the house..

if the fans loses the PMW signal, the controller will give it full juice, for safety..

By spec, if the PWM line is not connected the fan goes to 100% - has nothing to do with the controller.

Personally, I don't see the point of running the fans at less than max - keeps the unit cooler for better longevity - but noise isn't an issue for me.

By multiple reports, there ARE PWM fans out there that do NOT follow the spec, be sure to check your fans before you trust them to go 100% with no input to the PWM line.

from multiple cleaning teardowns, the PMW pin has worked itself loose out of one of the plug (retainer clip on the wire broke off), i have to manually push it in after plugging in the fan.

without any commands other then its preset fan speed, it is 100%, once cgminer tells it to go 45%, it then changes. when cgminer cannot talk to the avalon, the avalon goes back to 100% fan speed.

...There is nothing like the sound of miners in the morning.
...

nothing like waking up to the fans going into high speed from a failure

can't happen if fans are manual set.

but the fans could be silent and that means trouble.

I never auto set a fan on mining gear that allows for a manual number.
I set the manual number pretty high and if they stop I get nervous.

been a while since i ran avalons  the 4.1's never failed so they were always quiet.
