Can you give a estimate for the actual price?

kilo17 needs to tell me what his cost shipped to his location.

So base on current  1500 price maybe   1625.  For USA customers.

As there won't be a mark up on my end.   I will add shipping and a few bucks for packing and handling.

I am in NJ zipcode is 07731

Kilo17 is in Tennessee.

the seller is west coast san francisco.

They are sending 25 to him next week.
He will send me 5.

So to avoid moq and preorder  there is extra shipping.

Still better this way.

I am keen for one unit but would require shipping to Australia

not sure how easy this would be to do.

let me check shipping.

if kilo17 got them to his place at 1550 usd  each counting shipping.

I would need to figure what it cost to ship to you.  I then need to see about declaring its value.

I will shoot you a pm some time this weekend.

Philipma is correct, I am not looking to make money on these and they will not be marked up as people have suggested.  I am simply doing this as a service with Philipma's assistance.  I will sell about 5 of the first 25 I bought for me and I am securing another batch for the following week and have already spoke to BlockC and they are aware.

Why are these so expensive?

There is only one competitor on the market currently. I think the prices are right in line to be honest... it would always be nice to get them cheaper but I don't think there are any market forces that would push the mfg to get the price down at this point.

So, less hashrate, less efficiency, need to provide your own controller, AND more expensive than the other competitor?  Who's lining up to buy these?

I wouldn't count the cost of the Pi in there. It can be resold and should be suitable for all current and future Avalon miners you stock. Like a PSU, its not consumed or proprietary, unlike an SP20 or S7 control board.

thats a good point dogie thanks for bringing it up.

oh a few have asked about that 1500 watt psu.

this one goes from 10 to 13.5 volts 87% efficient

https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/rsp1500.pdf

I have been using it here and there.  A guy on ebay was selling them at a good price

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MeanWell-Power-Supply-Rsp-1500-12-/191732204742?
I got one on ebay for a good price.

So a PSU that can be adjusted is required to undervolt/underclock the avalon6?

underclock is software  any psu allows underclock.

but and we are not sure since testing has not been done   under volting may be via a psu option not via software.

if undervolting works and you under volt via psu there are a few .  we are working on unknown  as of now.

Hopefully in 10 - 12 days when I get one I can answer it.

If I work with kilo17 and help sell to the forum members on this site they will be in hand and not preorders.  He is getting a big batch and I would help him distribute them.

This would be no MOQ as he will order big enough batches to satisfy MOQ.

Markup will be very low. More to cover shipping and handling then to buy a few hundred at 1500 and sell them at 2200.

Did BlockC raise the price? - http://www.blockc.co/collections/blockc-co-shop/products/avalon-6-3-65-th-s-bitcoin-mining-server .  I could have sworn they had less then that a week or two ago.

So on resell is that 2200 number you mention look like what they are planned on being sold for through Kilo?

no to the resale at 2200

I said he is not buying a few hundred of them at 1500 looking to do a markup to 2200.

He told me the markup would be for shipping and handling .  So  he won't be looking for 2200 to a USA based buyer.

Now two weeks ago these opened at 1300 moq of 10. I would think  that coins going ups so high has cause MOQ to stay at 10 but price to go to 1500.

The new s-7 is 4 btc   that is 1530  it won't ship for about 1 month.

The ones kilo17  has purchased should arrive at his place in 10 days.

So if I get one and test it in 12 -14 days and it is good  the rest that he want to sell would ship in under 18 days so maybe a 2 week head start on the s-7 batch 6.

We all know asic shipping is slow.     Kilo17 has told me he did a purchase it is paid for so no funds are needed at this moment.

I think kilo17 wants to sell off 4-6 of his shipment.

we all know the game   so if they come on time he sends 2 to me I send 1 to valkir.  we hope they work as promised. I test and demo as does valkir.
we move a few more out for a total of 4 to 6.

If it all works well first time  kilo17 wants to do a new buy and we do it a second time  say 20 to him 6 to 10 for others.

I think the prices are right in line to be honest...

You think that the price, which is so high as to make it likely impossible to achieve RoI on these things at any electric cost greater than about 3 cents/KWH, is right in line?

Dunno what you're smoking, but keep it away from me - it's making you halucinate.

Original Blockc price was $1300, then they went to $1400, haven't bothered to look since then - it was way too expensive (worse so than any of the S7 varients) at $1300.

I'm still in "wait and see what Lketc/BW.COM come up with for a price, and what the actual specs on their miner(s) end up being" mode, while Ocing my S5s and pushing my SP20 as hard as I can with the cooling weather to maximise income while Bitcoin prices stay high.

I'm starting to think I might manage to RoI those miners ANd their PSes after all. 8-)

Also being able to go to a computer store or amazon one and have it next day or 2-3 days even is a huge bonus.  A lot use custom controllers and its a huge pain to get a replacement quick, and you have down gear waiting on a cheap part.

With the RPI you can replace it very easy.  And easy to back up the image which is great aswell.
