honestly no one having issue with unable to log back to webgui??

I had an issue logging in via the web gui after my unit was hacked.

If you wanna reset your miner to default settings & password, then open the Avalon remote app and remote the miner.

Disconnect the miner.

Then power it back on and press the FUNC function key (before the indicator flashes red), for five seconds until the white light flashes to indicate success. Then press RESET or disconnect the power to restart. Then add back all of the network credentials via the app, then connect to the web gui.

You might need to a couple of factory resets for the login credentials to revert back too root/root

I bought a couple of these to dip my toe into bitcoin and to replace the space heater running in my basement.  I'm having a lot of trouble with one of them...I believe I reset the password for it using the phone interface with a password beyond the character limit and it got corrupted.  I'm trying to hard reset the device using the instruction quoted above and it doesn't seem to be responding properly.  Holding down the top button when I plug in the cord it power cycles until I release the button.  If I just hold it in for 5 seconds it boots normally.

In an hour of trying various combinations I got it to forget the wifi info once but it still had the bad password.

The second device has stopped working completely and will not turn on. The quality of this product is not good.

Here’s a tip for those who want the fans to operate at full speed and aren’t concerned about voiding the warranty: you can open the unit and carefully cut the yellow wire connecting the fans to the control board. This modification will force the fans to run at maximum speed, which is great for optimal cooling. Be aware, though, that this change is not easily reversible. It will make the unit significantly noisier, so it’s best suited for situations where you’re not using it for heating and can place it somewhere out of the way. Proceed with caution!

And do you feel this heat really warming the room?
Or do you think it won’t be as efficient if the space is a little bigger?
But for where it is now, no there is no way it could do ANYTHING due to the size of the room where it is.
Running it in the small back room of my condo it did do A LITTLE bit but you are talking about early spring temps in a 200 square foot (18.5 square meter) room.

I can see it in places like that, or where there is a little chill that a hundred watts and change can bump up the temp those couple of degrees to make things more comfortable.
Personally, I put my Nano 3 on the desk from time to time, pointed at my hands that might get a little chilly in autumn / winter. It's a nice warm breeze, but even at 125W it will mathematically just never significantly change an entire room's average temperature. Now on to replying to some more recent stuff.. sorry for jumping over more than 10 pages. Wink

FYI the fan clips onto the PSU to help cool it. Thing is - the fan needs a USB-A power source to run it...
Yeah, I was very surprised when I opened my package. I had heard about some 'early bird thank you gift', but didn't know what to expect. This is just funny: a keychain to mess up your opsec and a fan that needs USB-A which is nowhere on either the PSU or the miner.. Cheesy

For what it's worth, I don't think the power supply really needs active cooling.

Has anyone successfully factory reset their Avalon Nano 3 completely? I've done it twice now and while I need to redo wifi, it retains whatever pool information I've previously put in. Trying to address a new issue where suddenly it's giving me the red ring of death Network Status issue where it shows 0 ms.

Try to change the usb cable, I had those issues and they were resolved when I changed the cable, before that I tried to flash the firmware, reset the device in every possible way I could find, nothing helped, really weird especially because the previous cable worked for months, then I just changed the location of the device and it stopped working with that cable for some reason (network red 0ms)

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a go. Finicky little things!
The cable MUST be USB-CPD and tagged for at least 140W. A 'standard' cable is NOT made for and cannot support the PD protocol which allows a PSU and device to negotiate what voltage/current is used.. A PD cable has a chip in it that identifies how much power it can deliver. Without that chip a standard cable will only allow the PSU to deliver 5v 1A and the nano requires 28V @ 5A.

I'd be interested in selling mine with the PSU if anyone was looking at grabbing one.  Immediate shipping and BTC accepted.

Why do you sell that device?

"A Last farewell" post to say my Avalon Nano 3 started smelling funny, blinking, then burned up  Shocked - well, no actual fire but the smell told me it's burned off "something!" This only mining 'Medium' level.

All this even after puttting on some cobber heatdispatchers (so can't use return garanties) Sad So this has been a waste of money. Seeing how many Avalon Nano 3's have issues, while some others do not, I'm definitively not going to buy another due to poor stability
and now: It's selfdestruct.

(se my other posts on AN3 here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/ya5on-3650780 )

I have written to https://mineshop.eu/contact-us saying I'm willing to try another one (and that I will remove this post if they do send a new one). I feel this is within reason to write as the heat inside is very high (AN3 cannot even mine on 'High' (Why have 'High-setting???).

(But this worked good to power AN3: https://lysiq.se/usams-us-um-gan-snabbladdare-140w-2m-usb-c-kabel-2x-usb-c-1x-usb-a-kit/)

Neither the Avalon Nano 3 nor the power adapter have this feature. Honestly, this is a very strange company.
Yep.
They were probably thinking, "well most folks have a few phone chargers w/USB-A ports laying around... " Roll Eyes
